Looking for a beautiful example of a 68 Cutlass S convertible to start off your summer season? Well this may be the one for you. Imagine yourself cruising down the highway on a warm summer day, with the top down, tunes blasting and no worrying about anything but the highway ahead! . Up for sale is my 1968 Cutlass S convertible. Equipped with A/C, power steering, power brakes and a power top. Powered by a smooth running 350 engine and automatic transmission, this Cutlass is surely a head turner. Some of the history that I know about the car is that it was originally purchased in Florida where it spent the better portion of its life. Car was purchased by someone in North Carolina sometime in the late eighties, early 90's, where it sat in storage for about 10 years. Car was then sold to a friend of mine in Ohio in the late 90's where it once again sat for another 10-12 years. In need of money a couple years back, he offered up the car to me so I purchased the car from him to help him out. Now it sits. Too many other cars that I'm trying to get restored and not enough time to enjoy them all, so its time to sell it off to finance the other projects. When I purchased the car I drained all the old fuel, cleaned out the lines and gas tank and had the carb professionally rebuilt. Recent updates over the past year include (4) new 15 inch BFG T/A radials, new power top motor, both power top cylinders, power top lines, rechromed front bumper and rear bumper and new top boot cover. Car is super solid with no rust. Underside is very solid with no indications of past frame/ floor issues or problems. Car is almost like a time capsule. When was the last time you seen an FM converter in a car? and it actually still works! Lights, turn signals, wipers all in working order. A/C will need looked at and the covertible top pads that go between the top and frame need to be replaced. Top is NOT torn. Glass is all nice in the car. Windows crank nice and smoothly. Doors open and close nice and solid with no sagging of the hinges or body. Just a nice solid ride. Car shows a bit over 48,000 miles. I never tried to research this out to see if was original or not, but with the amount of time that this car sat, the condition of the underside and the fact the original carpeting is intact and shows the type of wear for a 48,000 mile car i would almost believe it to be original. VIN is supplied in the listing so feel free to do your homework and see if you can find something out about it .You can fly in and drive this beauty home. To protect my investment I do have a reserve on the vehicle as I have no intentions of giving it away, but it is priced very fairly for what it is. Bid your best. Auction will run the full course. I will not end it early. Winning bidder to send a non refundable deposit of 1,000.00 within 5 days of auctions end in the form of a bank check or wire transfer. Balance to be paid within 14 days in form of bank check, wire transfer or cash only upon personal pickup. If car is being picked up by a third party, all funds need to be secured and cleared through my bank before vehicle will be released. Buyer responsible for all shipping arrangements and costs associated with it. Vehicle is sold AS-IS with no warranty. Feel free to Email me to make arrangements for you or a third party to come view the vehicle before bidding

This Or That: 1980 Oldsmobile 442 vs. 1989 BMW 635CSi [w/poll]
Thu, 09 Oct 2014The last time I roped a coworker into an automotive debate, I lost. Resoundingly, I might add. Still, 2,385 voters chose to cast their lots for the Fiat 500 Abarth, as opposed to 5,273 choosing the Ford Fiesta ST, and so I can rest easy in the knowledge that at least 30 percent of you, dear readers, see things my way. I still like to think we have more fun, too.
My loss in the first round of our This or That series, in which two Autoblog editors pick sides on any given topic and then attempt to explain why the other is completely wrong, didn't stop me from picking another good-natured fight, this time with Senior Editor Seyth Miersma. Last time, our chosen sides were eerily similar in design, albeit quite different in actual execution. This time, our vehicular peculiarities couldn't seemingly fall any further from one another: A 1980 Oldsmobile 442 wouldn't seem to match up in comparison to a 1989 BMW 635CSi.
How did we come up with such disparate contenders? Simple, really. Seyth and I mutually agreed to choose a car that's currently for sale online. It had to be built and sold in the 1980s, and it had to be a coupe. The price cap was set at $10,000. The fruits of our searching labors will henceforth be disputed, with Seyth on the side of the Germans, and myself arguing in favor of the Rocket Olds. Am I setting myself up for another lopsided loss?
eBay Find of the Day: 1976 GMC Motorhome is a jolly green giant
Wed, 18 Jun 2014If you have a need to relive the 1970s, then here is the vehicle for you. This groovy blast from the past is a 1976 GMC Motorhome currently for auction in Florida on eBay Motors, and it is one green machine - just not in the modern sense.
The seller claims that this beast has had just two owners and has covered a mere 61,308 miles in its decades on the road. It's reportedly never been restored or repainted and comes with all of the necessary books and manuals. A 7.5-liter (455-cubic-inch) Oldsmobile V8 with a three-speed Turbo-Hydramatic automatic transmission powering the front wheels propels this far-out RV, and the double set of rear wheels out back use a self-leveling air suspension to provide a cushy ride.
The purported low miles and good condition really make this GMC a stand out, though. The exterior combination of lime stripes and beige with just a touch of green is like nothing else on the road today. Plus, the polished bumpers and wheels make it all pop. Inside, it's even better with monochromatic green upholstery and shag carpet. It features everything you'd ever need on a long trip, including a bathroom, kitchenette and lots of seating. The only hint of modernization is an HD TV next to the stove, but its size is a perfect fit for the hole there.
Ferrari FF pitted against Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser in crazy Generation Gap comparison
Thu, 13 Nov 2014The folks behind Generation Gap have lost their minds with this latest video. The goal here is to determine the ultimate family cruiser, but the choices are what you would least expect, with a heavily modded 1970 Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser going up against a 2012 Ferrari FF.
You might anticipate an over-40-year-old Oldsmobile to pale in comparison to any modern Ferrari, but this wagon has a ton of secrets under its skin thanks to Lingenfelter. First, it packs a supercharged LS3 V8 with a claimed 650 horsepower and a six-speed manual gearbox. That big upgrade in power is further helped with air suspension and massive Wilwood disc brakes. The result is nothing short of deafening, with blaring yelps whenever the driver even nudges the accelerator.
The alternative sounds just as good, albeit in very different way. The Ferrari's 6.3-liter V12 pumps out 651 hp and 504 pound-feet with a part-time all-wheel drive system. While the FF lacks a lot of the hauling ability of the Olds, it makes up for the deficit in handling, luxury, and in many eyes, simply by having the famous prancing horse on the grille.
