1967 Oldsmobile F 85 Cutlass Wagon (unmolested Low Mileage Survivor) on 2040-cars
Long Beach, California, United States
1967 Oldsmobile F-85 Wagon in beautiful condition. I'm the 3rd owner and the last owner purchased the car from the original owner in 2012 and he claims the car has 81,985 miles. I do have a stack of receipts dating back to 1997 that possibly backs up the mileage. Looking at the originality of the car other than the repaint I can honestly say I believe the mileage is original. The car was purchased new in Oxnard California and has been in California it's whole life. The interior is all original except the front seat and rear seat bottom upholstery has been replace with the same color and pattern. The arm rest have also been recovered. Everything else is original including original steering wheel (2-small cracks), original headliner (a little dirty but in great condition), original carpet, original cargo mat (few tears), Original dash (no cracks). Heater, fan, fuel gauge, idiot light and speedo functions as it should. Original AM Radio "does not work". Undercarriage is a little dirty but is in excellent condition with no signs of rust anywhere. The suspension seams to be very tight and varies bushing and ball joints have been replaced. Suspension handles well doesn't appear to sag. It drives down the road at 75 MPH straight with no problems. Power drum Brakes function as power drum brakes should. The Power GlideTransmission shifts up and down like it's it should. Rear end and drive shaft seam to be tight with No Clunking when shifting from reverse to drive. Engine compartment looks completely original unmolested condition with the smog pump still connected minus the belt (didn't see the need to have the belt on). The 330 V8 2-barrel carbed engine starts up easily cold or hot and runs excellent. It does have a slight exhaust leak on the driver's side I believe coming from the exhaust smog tubes. Power steering steers effortless and feels fairly tight for a 45-year old vehicle. The A/C is all there with the belt connected but does need to be charged and I believe it'll work but not 100%. Paint shines nicely but does have minor chips and some scratches (I have plenty of photos showing all areas with chips and scratches, if your interested in the car please ask for additional photo's or feel free to have the car inspected. Front and rear bumpers have nice chrome and appear to be fairly straight. Grille and headlight bezels are in great condition. All the chrome and stainless trim is there and in good condition. Glass is all there and in good condition. There are a few chips in the front windshield. Side glass is tinted and the back electric window goes up and down from the switch in the dash. Options 1. 330 V8 2-barrel carb 2. Powerglide Automatic Transmission 3. Air Conditioning 4. Power Steering 5. Power Brakes 6. Electric Rear Window Car shows really nice and gets compliments every I go. This would make a great weekend car or even a daily driver. I have driven the car on several 100-mile trips and it performs and drives well at all City and Highway speeds. would also be a great candidate for a cool surf wagon, restoration, resto mod or drive it like it is. The car is locally for sale and I reserve the right to end the auction early if it sells locally. There is a low "buy now" price and I do have a reserve that is considerably lower than the buy now price so bid with confidence or do the reasonable buy now price. If you have any additional questions and you would prefer to contact me via phone please email your phone #. Title Oldsmobile has a clean California Title.

I Reserve the Right to end the Auction early. The car is locally listed For Sale and could possibly sell.
On Oct-22-13 at 11:08:11 PDT, seller added the following information: Inspected spare tire well and found a small rust hole at bottom. The metal is still very solid and this would be an easy fix. Spare tire, jack and hardware are all there in original condition. The quarters are very straight and don't appear to have bondo. It appears that the quarters are rust free and have never been repaired (no paint bubbling in the quarters from previous body work). |

Ferrari FF pitted against Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser in crazy Generation Gap comparison
Thu, 13 Nov 2014The folks behind Generation Gap have lost their minds with this latest video. The goal here is to determine the ultimate family cruiser, but the choices are what you would least expect, with a heavily modded 1970 Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser going up against a 2012 Ferrari FF.
You might anticipate an over-40-year-old Oldsmobile to pale in comparison to any modern Ferrari, but this wagon has a ton of secrets under its skin thanks to Lingenfelter. First, it packs a supercharged LS3 V8 with a claimed 650 horsepower and a six-speed manual gearbox. That big upgrade in power is further helped with air suspension and massive Wilwood disc brakes. The result is nothing short of deafening, with blaring yelps whenever the driver even nudges the accelerator.
The alternative sounds just as good, albeit in very different way. The Ferrari's 6.3-liter V12 pumps out 651 hp and 504 pound-feet with a part-time all-wheel drive system. While the FF lacks a lot of the hauling ability of the Olds, it makes up for the deficit in handling, luxury, and in many eyes, simply by having the famous prancing horse on the grille.
This Or That: 1980 Oldsmobile 442 vs. 1989 BMW 635CSi [w/poll]
Thu, 09 Oct 2014The last time I roped a coworker into an automotive debate, I lost. Resoundingly, I might add. Still, 2,385 voters chose to cast their lots for the Fiat 500 Abarth, as opposed to 5,273 choosing the Ford Fiesta ST, and so I can rest easy in the knowledge that at least 30 percent of you, dear readers, see things my way. I still like to think we have more fun, too.
My loss in the first round of our This or That series, in which two Autoblog editors pick sides on any given topic and then attempt to explain why the other is completely wrong, didn't stop me from picking another good-natured fight, this time with Senior Editor Seyth Miersma. Last time, our chosen sides were eerily similar in design, albeit quite different in actual execution. This time, our vehicular peculiarities couldn't seemingly fall any further from one another: A 1980 Oldsmobile 442 wouldn't seem to match up in comparison to a 1989 BMW 635CSi.
How did we come up with such disparate contenders? Simple, really. Seyth and I mutually agreed to choose a car that's currently for sale online. It had to be built and sold in the 1980s, and it had to be a coupe. The price cap was set at $10,000. The fruits of our searching labors will henceforth be disputed, with Seyth on the side of the Germans, and myself arguing in favor of the Rocket Olds. Am I setting myself up for another lopsided loss?
Jay Leno bangs up his own Toronado in GT6
Wed, 11 Dec 2013Ever since Gran Turismo 4, Jay Leno has had at least one of his cars included in the popular racing simulator (starting with the Tank Car), and more of his machines appears in Gran Turismo 6. They include this nose-heavy, front-wheel-drive V8-powered muscle car. Yes, that aptly describes a 1966 Oldsmobile Toronado - except Leno's is rear-wheel drive. And it has a Cadillac CTS-V race engine modified to pump out 1,070 horsepower.
For the latest Jay Leno's Garage episode, he takes his real Toronado out for a cruise and then drives the virtual one like he stole it, accruing some body damage along the way. Leno also drives the virtual supercar Mercedes-Benz designed for GT6, the AMG Vision Gran Turismo Concept that debuted at the LA Auto Show, along with the real one, which is a 1:1-scale model. The model is radio-controlled and equipped with a small electric motor, sufficient to move it on and off of auto show floors.
Head below to watch the episode, which includes a few words from GT6 creator Kazunori Yamauchi.
