Year:1965 Mileage:90207 Color: CONDITION OF THE VEHICLE
Location:

Bellingham, Washington, United States

YOU ARE BIDDING ON A 1965 OLDSMOBILE F85 CUTLASS CONVERTIBLE.  THE VEHICLE WAS TRADED AT OUR DEALERSHIP ON A NEWER BMW X5.  OUR DEALERSHIP SPECIALIZES IN LUXURY EUROPEAN VEHICLES SUCH AS BMW'S, MERCEDES, AUDI'S, PORSCHE'S, LAND ROVER'S, ETC... YET WE ARE PRETTY UNFAMILIAR WITH THE CLASSIC STYLE VEHICLES.  WE WILL LIST WHAT WE KNOW ON THE VEHICLE, AND THE CONDITIONS OF THE VEHICLE TO THE BEST OF OUR KNOWLEDGE, BUT TO HAVE A MORE ACCURATE DESCRIPTION, FEEL FREE TO SEND AN EBAY INSPECTOR TO LOOK MORE CLOSELY AT THE VEHICLE.  WE HAVE A 100% POSITIVE AUTO RELATED FEEDBACK, AND WE CONTINUE TO STRIVE TO DO SO WITH ALL OUR VEHICLE LISTINGS.

EXTERIOR CONDITION OF THE VEHICLE:  THE 1965 OLDSMOBILE F85 CUTLASS HAS A BEAUTIFUL LOOKING, CUSTOM PAINT JOB THAT APPARENTLY WAS COMPLETED ONLY MONTHS AGO.  WE ARE NOT SURE IF THE VEHICLE IS TO ANY OF IT'S ORIGINAL COLORS, BUT THE WORK THAT WAS COMPLETED WAS DEFINITELY MORE THAN "FAIR" IN QUALITY CONDITIONS.  THE CHROME ON THE VEHICLE IS IN GREAT CONDITION WITH NO MAJOR PITTINGS, RUST, OR UNACCEPTABLE CHROME DEFECTS.  THERE IS MINOR PITTING ON SOME OF THE BUMPER AND HEADLIGHT AREAS, BUT NOTHING SIGNIFICANT TO THE QUALITY OF THE VEHICLE.  THE TIRES ARE IN GREAT CONDITION, AND THE WHEELS LOOK VERY ACCEPTABLE AND IN GREAT SHAPE AS WELL.  ALL THE WEATHERSTRIPPING ON THE VEHICLE, TO THE BEST OF OUR KNOWLEDGE, LOOKS LIKE IT HAS BEEN REPLACED, OR IN ORIGINAL "FAIR" CONDITION AS WELL.  THERE ARE NO CRACKS, NOR MAJOR CHIPS IN THE MIRROS, WINDSHIELD, NOR THE REAR PLASTIC WINDOW ON THE CONVERTIBLE TOP.  THE CONVERTIBLE TOP AS WELL LOOKS LIKE IT IS IN BETTER THAN "FAIR" CONDITION.

INTERIOR OF VEHICLE:  THE INTERIOR OF THE 1965 OLDSMOBILE F85 CUSTLASS CONVERTIBLE IS IN GREAT SHAPE FROM THE CARPETTING, HEADLINER ON THE TOP, SEATS, ETC...  THE CARPETTING DOESN'T LOOK LIKE IT IS NEW, BUT IS DEFINITELY NICE, AND NOT ALL TORN UP.  THE SEATS HAVE NO RIPS OR DEFECTS AS WELL.  THE DOOR PANELS ARE ALL STRAIGHT, AND LOOK LIKE THEY HAVE BEEN FULLY RECONDITIONED, YET THE SPEAKER COVERS ON BOTH FRONT DOORS ARE MISSING, AND WE ARE UNSURE OF ANY ELECTRICAL SOUND SYSTEM FUNCTIONS.  WE TRIED TO TURN THE VEHICLE'S RADIO ON, BUT IT DID NOT FUNCTION FOR US, AND WE HAVE NOT COMPLETED ANY FURTHER DIAGNOSIS ON IT.  ALL THE NORMAL FUNCTIONS OF THE INTERIOR, FROM WINDOWS, FANS, COOLING FANS, LIGHTS, ETC... ARE FUNCTIONING TO LEGAL STANDARDS AND SPECIFICATIONS.  AGAIN, WE ARE NOT COMPLETELY KNOWLEDGEBLE ABOUT THE VEHICLE, SO IT WOULD BE BEST TO HAVE AN EBAY INSPECTOR LOOK FURTHER INTO THE CONDITIONS OF THE 1965 OLDSMOBILE F85 CUTLASS.  ALL THE CHROME TRIM PIECES ON THE INTERIOR ARE INTACT, FAIR CONDITIONS, AND NO MAJOR DEFECTS.  THE DASH LOOKS GOOD WITH NO VISIBLE CRACKS OR RIPS ALSO.

MECHANICAL CONDITIONS:  WHEN OUR FACILITY ACQUIRED THE 1965 OLDSMOBILE F85 CUTLASS CONVERTIBLE ON TRADE, UNFORTUNATLEY WE WERE NOT THAT FAMILIAR WITH THE VEHICLE PER SAY.  OUR FACILITY HAS STARTED THE VEHICLE, AND GAURANTEE THE VEHICLE TO START RIGHT AWAY, AS WELL AS WE REPLACED THE STARTER ON THE UNIT TO A BRAND NEW ONE THAT COST US OVER $285.  THE VEHICLE SOUNDS AMAZING, AND SEEMS TO RUN GREAT, AND SHIFT PROPERLY.  ALL GEARS SEEM TO WORK THE WAY THEY SHOULD, ALTHOUGH THERE IS A SHORT SHIFT KIT THAT WAS PLACED ON THE VEHICLE, AND OUR KNOWLEDGE OF THESE SYSTEMS ARE NOT THE GREATEST.  AGAIN, AS WE MENTIONED BEFORE, ONCE WE STARTED THE VEHICLE THERE IS AN ENGINE NOISE THAT CAN BE HEARD, YET WE HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO VERIFY WHETHER IT IS A STICKY VALVE OR STICKY LIFTER.  FOR COMFORT OF BUYING, FEEL FREE TO CONTACT AN EBAY INSPECTOR TO LOOK OVER THE VEHICLE.  THE CUSTOMER THAT TRADED THE 1965 OLDSMOBILE SPECIFIED TO US THAT THE MOTOR IS NEW, AND THERE ARE LOTS OF EXTRAS ON THE UNIT THAT WE ARE UNFAMILIAR WITH.  SOME OF THE EXTRAS IS A NEW 750 CARBEURATOR THAT WAS PLACED WITHIN 2 WEEKS OF TRADING, ALTHOUGH THE ORIGINAL CARB ON THE VEHICLE WAS A 650.  THERE SEEMS TO BE AN EXTRA TRANS OR AIR COOLER ON THE VEHICLE ALSO.  WE ARE POSITIVE THAT THE VEHICLE IS NOT A NUMBERS MATCHING UNIT, PER THE CHEVROLET 396-V8 MOTOR THAT HAS BEEN REPLACED.  THE PREVIOUS OWNER ALSO SPECIFIED THAT THERE ARE NEW SHOCKS, BRAKES, ENGINE LINES, ETC.... ON THE VEHICLE, BUT AGAIN, WE ARE UNFAMILIAR WITH ANY OF THESE CONDITIONS.

OUR SERVICE COORDINATOR TOOK THE VEHICLE ON A TEST DRIVE WHEN OUR FACILITY ACQUIRED THE VEHICLE, AND THE CAR SEEMED TO RUN STRONG, AND SHIFT PROPERLY.  THERE IS A LARGER 750 CARB PLACED ON THE VEHICLE.  AGAIN, IT IS A GREAT LOOKING AND SHARP VEHICLE, AND THE RUNABILITY IS DEFINITELY STRONG, BUT FOR ADDED BUYING SECURITY, FEEL FREE TO ARRANGE A PRE PURCHASE INSPECTION ON THE VEHICLE, AND WE WILL GLADLY HELP IN ACCOMODATING IN ANY WAY WE CAN.

OUR FACILITY CAN ALSO HELP IN DISCOUNT SHIPPING WORLDWIDE, AND CAN ARRANGE FOR IMMEDIATE PICK UP AND DELIVERY DEPENDING ON THE FINAL DELIVERY LOCATION.  WE CAN ALSO HELP ARRANGE ANY DISCOUNTED MECHANICAL WORK, AT A COST OT THE BUYER, BUT THROUGH OUR DISCOUNTED PRICES.

THE VEHICLE WILL BE SOLD AS/IS, WHERE IS/ NO IMPLIED NOR EXPRESSED WARRANTIES WHATSOEVER.  THERE ARE NO REFUNDS, AND NO EXCHANGES.  ALL WINNING BUYERS BE CHARGED AN ADDITIONAL $150 DOCUMENTARY SERVICE FEE, AND ALL WASHINGTON STATE RESIDENTS WILL BE CHARGED ALL APPLICABLE SALES TAX AT 8.9%, ALL LICENSE FEES, AND THE NEGOTIABLE $150 DOCUMENTARY SERVICE FEE.

OUR DEALERSHIP RESERVES THE RIGHT TO END THE AUCTION EARLY DUE TO THE VEHICLE BEING SOLD LOCALLY THROUGH OUR FACILITY, AND IT IS CURRENTLY INSIDE OUR SHOWROOM AREA.  AGAIN, THE 1965 OLDSMOBILE F85 CUTLASS CONVERTIBLE WILL BE SOLD AS/IS, WHERE IS/ NO IMPLIED NOR EXPRESSED WARRANTIES WHATSOEVERS.  FEEL FREE TO CONTACT US FOR ANY FURTHER DETAILS OR CONCERNS.

GOOD LUCK AND HAPPY BIDDING!!

NOTED ON 05/09/2014 - OUR FACILITY HAS VIDEO FOOTAGE OF THE VEHICLE FROM GETTING INTO IT TO STARTING AND RUNNING THE VEHICLE AT HIGH RPM'S IN ORDER TO LISTEN TO ALL THE SOUNDS AND RUNABILITY OF THE VEHICLE.  WE ALSO CAN SEND VIDEO FOOTAGE OF THE CONVERTIBLE TOP WORKING GREAT!!

Jay Leno bangs up his own Toronado in GT6

Wed, 11 Dec 2013

Ever since Gran Turismo 4, Jay Leno has had at least one of his cars included in the popular racing simulator (starting with the Tank Car), and more of his machines appears in Gran Turismo 6. They include this nose-heavy, front-wheel-drive V8-powered muscle car. Yes, that aptly describes a 1966 Oldsmobile Toronado - except Leno's is rear-wheel drive. And it has a Cadillac CTS-V race engine modified to pump out 1,070 horsepower.
For the latest Jay Leno's Garage episode, he takes his real Toronado out for a cruise and then drives the virtual one like he stole it, accruing some body damage along the way. Leno also drives the virtual supercar Mercedes-Benz designed for GT6, the AMG Vision Gran Turismo Concept that debuted at the LA Auto Show, along with the real one, which is a 1:1-scale model. The model is radio-controlled and equipped with a small electric motor, sufficient to move it on and off of auto show floors.
Head below to watch the episode, which includes a few words from GT6 creator Kazunori Yamauchi.

eBay Find of the Day: 1976 GMC Motorhome is a jolly green giant

Wed, 18 Jun 2014

If you have a need to relive the 1970s, then here is the vehicle for you. This groovy blast from the past is a 1976 GMC Motorhome currently for auction in Florida on eBay Motors, and it is one green machine - just not in the modern sense.
The seller claims that this beast has had just two owners and has covered a mere 61,308 miles in its decades on the road. It's reportedly never been restored or repainted and comes with all of the necessary books and manuals. A 7.5-liter (455-cubic-inch) Oldsmobile V8 with a three-speed Turbo-Hydramatic automatic transmission powering the front wheels propels this far-out RV, and the double set of rear wheels out back use a self-leveling air suspension to provide a cushy ride.
The purported low miles and good condition really make this GMC a stand out, though. The exterior combination of lime stripes and beige with just a touch of green is like nothing else on the road today. Plus, the polished bumpers and wheels make it all pop. Inside, it's even better with monochromatic green upholstery and shag carpet. It features everything you'd ever need on a long trip, including a bathroom, kitchenette and lots of seating. The only hint of modernization is an HD TV next to the stove, but its size is a perfect fit for the hole there.

GM recalling 8.4M cars, 8.2M related to ignition problems

Mon, 30 Jun 2014

General Motors today announced a truly massive recall covering some 8.4 million vehicles in North America. Most significantly, 8.2 million examples of the affected vehicles are being called back due to "unintended ignition key rotation," though GM spokesperson Alan Adler tells Autoblog that this issue is not like the infamous Chevy Cobalt ignition switch fiasco.
For the sake of perspective, translated to US population, this total recall figure would equal a car for each resident of New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Montana, Delaware, South Dakota, Alaska, North Dakota, the District of Columbia, Vermont and Wyoming. Combined. Here's how it all breaks down:
7,610,862 vehicles in North America being recalled for unintended ignition key rotation. 6,805,679 are in the United States.
