Fully Restored & Beautiful!

Take a look at this beautifully done 1964 Oldsmobile Cutlass Holiday Coupe 442 Tribute restoration dressed out in Holiday Red, Vivid White, Chrome and all its' 442 Badges, a show winning combination all the way around!  Totally ready to take to the streets and enjoy this fully restored 1964 Olds Cutlass 442 is striking inside and out and is a pleasure to drive.

Equipped with an original 290bhp 330cid V8 Engine with Four Barrel Carburetor that runs excellent and sounds great with its' Dual Exhaust and a smooth shifting 2 Speed Jetaway Transmission, a unique design from GM that used a Torque Converter with a Variable-Pitch Stator called the Variable Vane by Oldsmobile...very rare and works flawlessly!  Some other great features to note on this 442 Tribute include the Heavy Duty Police Package Suspension, Higher Rate Coil Springs Front & Rear, Heavy Duty Shock Absorbers, and the larger Front Anti-Roll Bar as well as great  upgrades like Front Disc Brakes and Vintage Air...it just keeps getting better!  The ride and drive of this Cutlass is sure to impress with its' long list of new parts such as shocks, lower shock mounting studs, springs, rear coil spring insulators, bushings and driveshaft just to name a few.  New brakes lines installed along with new fuel lines, rear brakes are drum.   All wheel bearings, bushings and grease fittings were just fully serviced and a front end alignment performed...drives like a dream!

Its' interior is, in a word; stunning.  The brilliance of the White in contrast to the Black dash and carpet surrounded by the Holiday Red, Chrome and Stainless is a show stopper.  All of its' glass is crystal clear, the windows open smoothly and close tightly, new seals & rubber all around including trunk & door seals; the doors open and close solidly.  The overall condition of the chrome bumpers, grill and trim throughout is excellent...a dazzling package that turns heads everywhere it goes.  Overall solid body, floor, trunk pans and underside...straight lines throughout.  All of its lighting is in proper working order with the exception of the back up lights, the oil/generator/temp lights all work as does the speedometer and odometer. The windshield wipers work great, as does the heat, defrost and Vintage Air.  Original radio is not working (radio turns on just to static, we believe that is due to the antenna which is in place for the pictures but not secured in place nor wired; it is kept in the trunk) and the optional remote trunk opener located in the glove box is also inop.  On the top of the front right wheel lip unfortunately at some time shortly after the paint was completed a screw was over tightened from the inside and it almost came through, doesn't jump out at you; but it is there and there is a very small area of slight bubbling in the paint on the bottom rear edge of the doors, all solid to the feel.  New 205/65/R15 BF Goodrich Tires all the way around on period correct Keystone Chrome Wheels...a great look!

Please enjoy all the details in the photos provided since, as they say; a picture is worth a thousand words! Feel free to contact us with any questions you may have via Ask Seller a Question or call me, Diane Marie; directly at 850-377-9136 and I will be happy to help.  Get ready to enjoy a truly beautiful driver that pays tribute to the one that started it all...the 1964 Olds 442!  Bid with confidence and bid to win!

Please note these next two pictures were added due to the fact that the rear coil springs insulators, lower shock mounting studs and bushings were replaced just after I took the original pictures.

eBay Find of the Day: 1976 GMC Motorhome is a jolly green giant

Wed, 18 Jun 2014

If you have a need to relive the 1970s, then here is the vehicle for you. This groovy blast from the past is a 1976 GMC Motorhome currently for auction in Florida on eBay Motors, and it is one green machine - just not in the modern sense.
The seller claims that this beast has had just two owners and has covered a mere 61,308 miles in its decades on the road. It's reportedly never been restored or repainted and comes with all of the necessary books and manuals. A 7.5-liter (455-cubic-inch) Oldsmobile V8 with a three-speed Turbo-Hydramatic automatic transmission powering the front wheels propels this far-out RV, and the double set of rear wheels out back use a self-leveling air suspension to provide a cushy ride.
The purported low miles and good condition really make this GMC a stand out, though. The exterior combination of lime stripes and beige with just a touch of green is like nothing else on the road today. Plus, the polished bumpers and wheels make it all pop. Inside, it's even better with monochromatic green upholstery and shag carpet. It features everything you'd ever need on a long trip, including a bathroom, kitchenette and lots of seating. The only hint of modernization is an HD TV next to the stove, but its size is a perfect fit for the hole there.

Jay Leno bangs up his own Toronado in GT6

Wed, 11 Dec 2013

Ever since Gran Turismo 4, Jay Leno has had at least one of his cars included in the popular racing simulator (starting with the Tank Car), and more of his machines appears in Gran Turismo 6. They include this nose-heavy, front-wheel-drive V8-powered muscle car. Yes, that aptly describes a 1966 Oldsmobile Toronado - except Leno's is rear-wheel drive. And it has a Cadillac CTS-V race engine modified to pump out 1,070 horsepower.
For the latest Jay Leno's Garage episode, he takes his real Toronado out for a cruise and then drives the virtual one like he stole it, accruing some body damage along the way. Leno also drives the virtual supercar Mercedes-Benz designed for GT6, the AMG Vision Gran Turismo Concept that debuted at the LA Auto Show, along with the real one, which is a 1:1-scale model. The model is radio-controlled and equipped with a small electric motor, sufficient to move it on and off of auto show floors.
Head below to watch the episode, which includes a few words from GT6 creator Kazunori Yamauchi.

GM recalling 8.4M cars, 8.2M related to ignition problems

Mon, 30 Jun 2014

General Motors today announced a truly massive recall covering some 8.4 million vehicles in North America. Most significantly, 8.2 million examples of the affected vehicles are being called back due to "unintended ignition key rotation," though GM spokesperson Alan Adler tells Autoblog that this issue is not like the infamous Chevy Cobalt ignition switch fiasco.
For the sake of perspective, translated to US population, this total recall figure would equal a car for each resident of New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Montana, Delaware, South Dakota, Alaska, North Dakota, the District of Columbia, Vermont and Wyoming. Combined. Here's how it all breaks down:
7,610,862 vehicles in North America being recalled for unintended ignition key rotation. 6,805,679 are in the United States.
