2001 NISSAN XTERRA SE
Another Awesome SUV we get to offer for sale, and this one is a
Nissan!
Vehicles like this make our job
easier. Very Nicely equipped, the Best Color
offered, and in Exceptional condition.
Nissan's Xterra has been a huge
success, not so much the engineering, but rather the
style and the function.
Hope the photographs do it justice. The Xterra has visual
distinction that says rugged.
The Xterra is just Plain Cool! The name itself signifies
connection to the earth. It's Cool to have a basket for your
wetsuits on the roof rack. It's Cool to have a Flip-up Sunroof.
It's Cool to have a tow package. It's Cool to Power Windows,
Locks, Mirrors, Tilt Wheel, and Cruise Control. It's Cool to
have an AM/FM/CD Changer. And, Maybe Best of All...It's COOL to
LOOK this COOL!!!
The exterior is "Just Blue Clearcoat and it just plain shines.
From every angle it's as sharp as we have ever owned. A few
light blems as you would expect, (not sure where), but
nothingyou'd need to fuss with and certainly nothing
objectionable.
Goodyear radials with 60% tread life remaining
are mated to some Awesome Looking Factory Nissan Wheels. They
really set this Xterra off. Not to mention the Accenting Body
Cladding, Roof-Rack, Running Boards, and Privacy Glass. A head
turner all the way!
Inside...Just as nice! Gray patterned seating surfaces are in
awesome condition. Someone took great care in maintaining this
SUV. All carpets and interior trim and applique’s are excellent.
Ice cold air, and one of the most comfortable seating positions
out there really make this Nissan a pleasure to drive cross-town
or cross-country.
There are front and rear auxiliary DC outlets in addition to
the cigarette lighter, and big fixed cupholders front and rear.
Cruise control and radio controls are located on the
leather-wrapped steering wheel, with wide spokes located at 3,
9, 5 and 7 o'clock
The bucket seats fit well and provide good lumbar support;
The roof is raised over the rear seats to allow for their
elevation, which is good because it provides rear-seat
passengers with a nice view through the windshield
Mechanically...Top shelf...Serviced and checked for some
serious driving. The 3.3 liter, V 6 is more than enough in any
driving condition, and is renowned for it's reliability. This
only gives you an added level of assurance.
Just getting started with lots of life for the new owner.
Again, our favorite type to offer! ....Smooth shifting, solid
and steady.
So fly in and drive this Xterra home or let us assist with
shipping quotes,
either way you will own a Gorgeous Nissan you can feel great
about.
The friends and neighbors can only be left to wonder how you
found such a gorgeous SUV, with these miles, color and history,
for so few dollars.

The big news on the electric vehicle front today is that Nissan is considering slowing down EV battery production in the US and UK and source all of Nissan's big packs come from Japan. Nissan may also buy some batteries from the Korean company LG Chem. This is apparently causing dissent within Nissan, but it follows what Alliance partner Renault is doing in the hunt for 180-mile EVs. This change – officially denied by Nissan – raises a lot of questions here, since Nissan made a huge deal about building the Leaf pack in Tennessee a few years ago. In fact, the car's big price drop was due, in part, to localizing battery production. If the company is really going to give up on building the packs where it makes the cars, then does Nissan not see itself as being capable of producing an energy-dense battery cheap enough to compete with Tesla and its Gigafactory and GM (which, of course, has long worked with LG Chem on batteries)? Whatever Nissan decides, it needs to be ready to compete in a market that offers a $35,000, 200-mile car by 2017. "We have not taken any decision whatsoever to modify battery sourcing allocation." – Renault-Nissan's Rachel Konrad Nissan would not comment directly on the reported change, but Rachel Konrad, the Alliance's global director of communications and marketing told AutoblogGreen, "The Renault-Nissan Alliance remains 100 percent committed to its industry-leading EV program. This global commitment continues for the foreseeable future, and we have not taken any decision whatsoever to modify battery sourcing allocation. Nissan has no plans to impair its battery investments. Beyond that,we will not comment on speculation or anonymous sources, and as a matter of policy the Alliance does not confirm or deny procurement reviews." There's a point-of-view where it doesn't matter where the batteries come from if the resulting EV is competitive, price-wise. Renault CEO Carlos Ghosn, after all, said during a recent Twizy test drive that the battery is a means, and the objective is the car. In the end, Nissan is saying it has no near-term or medium-term plan to shutter plants in US or UK and CEO Carlos Ghosn says, "What's important to us is that electric car performance fully meets customer expectations." Whatever's going on, Ghosn has seen three top executives leave the Renault-Nissan family recently.

Not Just For Families
Since our long-term 2013 Nissan Pathfinder joined the Autoblog Garage in late December of last year, the only time I've really spent with it has been during the short periods of time between my co-workers' longer loans. Until now, my experiences with our Mocha Stone tester have been limited to pick-ups and drop-offs at various locations around the greater Michigan/Ohio area, not to mention keeping the vehicle clean inside and out, as well as handling our first bit of scheduled maintenance in late March.
I was pleased, then, to actually be able to spend most of the month of April with our Pathfinder, finally giving me a chance to see what everyone else does and does not like about Nissan's new crossover. But here's the thing: I'm admittedly not the ideal person to test a family-minded vehicle. I'm single and in my late twenties, so something like our other long-term car, the 2013 Hyundai Veloster Turbo, is better suited to meet my everyday needs.

Following a small teaser, Nissan has unveiled its newest entry into the hotly contested European C-segment. Making new use of the Pulsar nameplate, it will attempt to take the fight to market stalwarts, like the Ford Focus, Volkswagen Golf and Vauxhall Astra.
The new five-door will be built on Nissan's modular CMF2 architecture, which also underpins the Euro-spec Qashqai and X-Trail (known in the US as the Rogue). It's a larger vehicle than one of its main challengers, the Golf, riding on a 106.3-inch wheelbase, which is 2.4 inches longer than the VW. It's also longer overall, at 172.6 inches.
The new Pulsar is a moderately powered little five-door, boasting an engine lineup familiar to anyone that knows the Qashqai. A 1.2-liter, turbocharged gas engine offers up 113 horsepower, while those that need a bit more oomph can wait for the late-availability, 187-hp, 1.6-liter turbo that American drivers will know from the Juke crossover. Diesel fans will be able to opt for a 1.5-liter mill that delivers 192 pound-feet of torque and 108 hp. No surprise here, but continuously variable transmissions are the order of the day.
