The Xterra is a remarkable vehicle from its edgy appearance to it's devoted following. Features like its sharp angles, boxy design, huge fender flares, as well as its asymmetrical rear window, and hard-core looking roof rails combine to make the Xterra look tough and exciting. It comes in three trims: X, S, and PRO-4X. All models come with a 4.0-liter V6 engine with 261 horsepower and 281 lb-ft of torque. The base X trim comes standard with a 5-speed automatic, which is an option for the S and PRO-4X models. If you choose the 4WD S or PRO-4X models, another option is a 6-speed manual transmission. The X and S trims are two-wheel drive, but four-wheel drive is an option, and the PRO-4X comes standard with 4WD. Fuel economy depends on the transmission and drivetrain you select but the best performer is the two-wheel drive automatic which gets an EPA estimated 16 MPG City and 22 MPG Highway. The 2014 Xterra comes with an impressive assortment of standard features amongst all the trims. You get Air Conditioning, Power Door Locks and Windows, Tire Pressure Monitor, a Console with Storage and a Storage Bin Under the Floor, as well as cloth bucket seats. If you are looking for more features, both S and PRO-4X trims give you an Auxiliary Audio Jack, USB iPod connection for your radio, Easy Clean Cargo Area, Utili-track Cargo Channel System, and a First Aid kit. Exclusive to the top level PRO-4X is a Rockford Fosgate nine speaker sound system, a 5.8-Inch Touch Screen Navigation System, a front passenger seat that folds flat for extra storage, as well as Hill Descent Control. For safety Nissan has given the Xterra Four-Wheel Anti-lock Brakes and Vehicle Dynamic Control with Traction Control. If you are looking for a vehicle built to handle the elements both on and off the road, and you want it to look great, come drive the 2014 Nissan Xterra today. ****KINGS NISSAN INTERNET SPECIAL'S**** CALL TOLL FREE 888-454-8431 TO RECEIVE ADDITIONAL SAVINGS PLUS LIFETIME FREE CAR WASHES. Nissan Patrol attempts Guinness record with 170-ton cargo plane tow

Fri, 23 Aug 2013

Yesterday, Nissan teased us with a video showing a Patrol pulling up to a 170-ton cargo plane at an airport in the Middle East - we could only assume that the not-for-America sports utility vehicle would attempt to tow the jet.
Well, somebody leaked the official Nissan video, which indeed shows the Patrol successfully pulling the plane 30 meters for what reportedly is a Guinness world record. While Guinness hasn't confirmed the record on its website at time of writing, the 170-ton jet would be the heaviest plane ever towed by a production automobile. The video was taken down quickly, but another video shot by an observer at the event was posted for our enjoyment. We figured Nissan would move to repost the official video sooner rather than later, and it did.
The Patrol seems to have no problem towing 340,000 pounds, but let's just say it wasn't a quick ordeal. Check out the official and unofficial video of the tow below, as well as Nissan's teaser video. In a reversal of fortunes, we also threw in another, somewhat smaller but perhaps just as impressive vid, just for fun.

Nissan GT-R takes a bloody whack at supercar rivals in fake ads

Mon, 23 Jun 2014

A big part of what makes a supercar super is how it makes you feel, but the performance stats and bragging rights are undeniably a big part of the equation as well. Which means you can't ignore the fact that, even with its price ever escalating, the Nissan GT-R makes minced meat out of European exotics costing twice or three times as much.
That's the inspiration for this trio of fake ads from photographer Tim Kent. In this mock campaign, Kent has depicted the GT-R as a butcher's knife and the European exotics as pieces of slaughtered meat. Ferrari is symbolized by a package of horse meat, Porsche by a pack of sausages and Lamborghini as a pair of, um... "prairie oysters".
Of course the ads are never going to run anywhere, and if you're squeamish (or vegetarian) we wouldn't suggest looking at them in close proximity to your lunch. But we have to admit they're creative, and effective.

Wards names its 2015 10 Best Interiors list

Fri, Apr 17 2015

Wards Automotive has named the winners of its 10 Best Interior awards, covering a wide but affordable array of vehicles. Where last year's list contained two six-figure vehicles, including the $372,800 Rolls-Royce Wraith, this year's is, well, a whole lot more reasonable. The publication lists the Mercedes-Benz C400 at $65,000 (which seems off), making it the most expensive vehicle here. That said, we'd argue that the entire C-Class line deserves to make this year's list, owing to its varied and high-quality selection of materials. The other vehicle to break the $60,000 mark, meanwhile, is the $60,675 Ford F-150 King Ranch, which has 327,000 pounds of leather lining its interior. Only one other German car, the BMW i3, and one other pickup truck, the GMC Canyon, managed to make this year's list. Here's the full list of this year's winners: 2014 BMW i3 ($52,550) 2015 Chrysler 300C Platinum ($51,175) 2015 Ford F-150 King Ranch ($60,675) 2015 GMC Canyon SLT ($40,465) 2015 Honda Fit EX-L ($21,590) 2015 Jeep Renegade Limited ($33,205) 2015 Kia Sedona SXL ($43,295) 2016 Mazda6 Grand Touring ($33,395) 2015 Mercedes C400 ($65,000) 2015 Nissan Murano SL ($41,905) See what we mean about the mainstream vehicles? Not only is there a distinct lack of luxury brands, it's the price of some of the vehicles that surprise. The Honda Fit, Jeep Renegade and Mazda6 are very reasonably priced, especially when you compare Wards price with the starting price. The Renegade Limited starts at less than $25,000, the Mazda at less than $22K and the Fit at under $16,000. Head over to Wards for a more detailed explanation of why each vehicle won.
