2001 Nissain Xterra XE for sale. I am selling this for a friend who got new vehicle and needed to make room at her house. This truck has a sighed clean title and is ready to go.

Body- The body is in great shape for its year. Clear coat on the rear hatch is is pealing. Dent on the rear quarter behind the passenger rear door about 3 inches in size ( see in pictures ) does not affect the look of truck hardly noticed. The only rust on the truck is on the passenger side front rocker and passenger side rocker were meets the door sill also hardly noticed and mostly rust stains not threw at all. ( see pictures ). Front bumper had some rust repair at one point so is bubbling again. Overall the truck shows well and presents nicely.

Engine-  It has the 3.3l V6. very strong with no knocks, no tics, no taps, no smoke, and no funny noises. Recently replaced the water pump, radiator, hoses, and tune up. It has check engine light on and she had it scanned. She was told it was on for a bank 2 sensor 2 oxygen sensor.

Transmission- The transmission shifts flawlessly threw all gears with no hesitation or lag when switch gears. It was recently serviced ( fluid flush and filter change ) As well as 4wd works as it should in all settings with no grinds.

Suspension-  The truck drives straight down the road with NO shakes, shimmy's, rattles of any sort. Rides very smooth and is great for a family on long trips. Recently replaced 2 tires and the other two are about 60%tread. ( shown in picture )

Interior- The interior is very clean free of any funny odors or smoke smells. No stains or burns. One small tear on the driver side front seat very minor ( shown in pictures ) everything works as it should. Radio works well and speakers sound great. The heat works good and the air conditioning blows ice cold. All though the heat & a/c only work on the high setting ( 4 ). She had taken it to a local mechanic and was told it was the "resistor" located under the glove box and is a 12 dollar part and 5 mins to replace, Easy fix. Over all a VERY clean interior.

This is a great truck for a new driver to learn with or someone who needs a reliable source of transportation. I am very honest with my add and made sure to touch on all the "bads" of the truck. the truck is a great looking, running, riding truck and im sure the next owner will be very pleased.

Nissan IDX production model to get sharper, less retro styling

Sat, 23 Aug 2014

The Nissan IDx seems like the type of concept that auto enthusiasts wish they could be driving. With a compact size, style inspired by the classic Datsun 510 and a rear-wheel-drive powertrain, it certainly ticks many of the boxes that people want. Unfortunately, the car seems to be miles away from actually getting a green light for production, but rumors about the retro coupe's future keep cropping up.
The last we heard about the IDx, the biggest complication with the coupe was that it was a tough project to make profitable. Nissan didn't have a cheap enough rear-wheel drive platform to make the affordable coupe work. The latest rumors point to a potential solution to this problem. According to Motoring from Australia speaking to an insider close to Nissan, the new plan is to tweak the styling to be less retro and adapt the car to work on the platform for the forthcoming, next-generation Z car.
The new look reportedly cribs from the Nissan Sport Sedan Concept from the 2014 Detroit Motor Show, including its floating roof design and sharper edges around the fenders. In terms of power, the source tells Motoring, the IDx could use a naturally aspirated 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with around 180 horsepower on tap. That might not sound like too much, but remember the Z car itself is rumored to get smaller and lighter when it's new generation hits the stage. If the weight is low enough, potentially using it for the IDx might just work.

Nissan Leaf battery cells put through torture test, live to charge again

Sun, Mar 2 2014

One minor chink in the armor of the Tesla Model S is that a small number have caught fire, once their battery packs were penetrated. Nissan Leaf drivers, however, might just be able to weather such an event without an ensuing CarBQ. Our evidence for such a claim? A video that has surfaced of cells from a Leaf pack undergoing a battery of torture tests (pun somewhat-ashamedly intended). Shared by folks at the Hybrid Auto Center in Las Vegas – who offer for sale, among other things, used Leaf lithium battery modules – the footage shows salvaged cells being brutally assaulted with a screwdriver, and later, a propane torch. Granted, these tests are not the same thing as flinging a piece of metal into a working pack at 70 miles per hour, but they do claim to show that a puncture does not always equal a fire. Oh, and don't try this at home. When pierced through by the flat head tool, there is no explosion or eruption of flame. Instead, a rather modest wisp of smoke shyly emerges as the electrolyte next to the shorted area of the fully-charged foil pouch reacts with the influx of oxygen. Again and again, the blade descends, until the cell is riddled with holes. No fire. Amazingly, when connected with a voltmeter afterward there are still plenty of signs of life, and when it is charged and discharged (off-camera), it reportedly suffers only a slight loss of charge capacity. The video goes on to show another cell attacked with open flame with similar results. While the demonstration is, perhaps, somewhat crude, the message it sends is loud and clear: lithium batteries can be safe and rather robust, despite some freak accidents. Mystery shoppers love Infiniti, hate Tesla

Tue, Jul 12 2016

Infiniti, followed by Lexus tied with Mercedes-Benz took the top two spots for best sales experience according to mystery shoppers from the latest Pied Piper Prospect Satisfaction Index, while EV manufacturer Tesla recorded the lowest overall score. Not surprisingly, premium brands dominated the top ranks. Including the three already mentioned, luxury brands occupied seven of the top ten spots and included Audi, BMW, Porsche, and the only American brand to crack the upper echelon, Cadillac. Toyota, Volkswagen, and Nissan rounded out the first ten positions. The news for domestic automakers isn't good. Aside from Caddy, the only other star-spangled automaker to score above the industry average is Chrysler. The rest of FCA, most of GM, and all of Ford fell below the line. But Pied Piper's mystery shoppers handed Tesla the biggest walloping – the company is ten full points below the next lowest brand, Volvo, and its score of 86 is 17 below the average of 103. It's baffling, considering the company's touted direct-sales model. "Tesla leaves me scratching my head," Fred O'Hagan, Pied Piper's president and CEO, told Wards Auto. "They own all of their stores, so you would think each one would be doing the same thing. But they're not. Tesla is consistent in its inconsistencies." O'Hagan added that there's a "huge variation" in Tesla's store-to-store effectiveness, and that in some cases, shoppers found showroom workers that acted more like "museum curators," Wards Auto reports. It might be popular to call Tesla the Apple of the car world, but based on Pied Piper's work, the brand has a long way to go to emulate the uniform shopping experience of an Apple Store. The news might be bad for Tesla, but even for the brands that scored below average, there's cause for celebration. Only Tesla and Mini lost points in this year's rankings, and only Mercedes and Lincoln held steady. Every other brand, including Infiniti, which topped the index for the first time, gained at least one point. The biggest improvements belong to Porsche, Land Rover, and Mitsubishi, which all jumped five points. Pied Piper's annual Prospect Satisfaction Index uses mystery shoppers – over 6,100 this year – from across the country to assess dealers and generate rankings from over 50 individual factors.
