ATTENTION COLLEGE STUDENTS. And parents - I am a mechanic/used car dealer - I bought this car brand new because my wife forced me to get a baby safe car. 2 years later i proved her wrong, so this sentra must go so i can continue buying, fixing and selling cars. like i said i am a mechanic and i am 36 years old. i have never treated this car bad in anyway. i first changed the oil at 1200 miles, then at 3000 then again at 5500 - at 8000 i changed to mobil one synthetic and have changed every 5-6000 miles thereafter. i have 2 other cars that i have fun driving in, and this sentra has never been revved or anything of the sort. SO I AM LOOKING FOR A SERIOUS BUYER WHO CAN RESPECT AND UNDERSTAND THE FACT THAT YOU ARE BUYING AN OVERLY WELL TAKEN CARE OF CAR TO SEND YOUR KIDS TO COLLEGE IN OR FOR YOURSELF. I AM ASKING 10 GRAND. BOOK VALUE IS AROUND THAT. I INSTALLED AN AFTERMARKET STEREO WHICH HAS THE HANDSFREE AND SMARTPHONE PANDORA BLUETOOTH FOR SAFE DRIVING. SPOILER AND RIMS ADDED FOR LOOKS. even though its a base model it has a/c powerlocks, power windows, 7 airbags, traction control abs and keyless entry - which in my earlier days - base model truly meant stripped of everything.

i am an upfront and honest person who is looking to offset my losses - i paid close to 17 grand in cash for this car - 20 months and 45,000 miles later cost me 7 grand loss. car is registered and insured, but i do not drive it anymore - i had the inspection done last month and i will keep plates on it for legal test drives. no rush to sell - but i am sure it will. please come test drive and see for yourself. Its located in Kings Park NY 11754 at my moms house which is highly elevated and there was no flood damage from sandy.

Nissan not shuttering Leaf EV battery plants, at least not yet

Mon, Sep 15 2014

The big news on the electric vehicle front today is that Nissan is considering slowing down EV battery production in the US and UK and source all of Nissan's big packs come from Japan. Nissan may also buy some batteries from the Korean company LG Chem. This is apparently causing dissent within Nissan, but it follows what Alliance partner Renault is doing in the hunt for 180-mile EVs. This change – officially denied by Nissan – raises a lot of questions here, since Nissan made a huge deal about building the Leaf pack in Tennessee a few years ago. In fact, the car's big price drop was due, in part, to localizing battery production. If the company is really going to give up on building the packs where it makes the cars, then does Nissan not see itself as being capable of producing an energy-dense battery cheap enough to compete with Tesla and its Gigafactory and GM (which, of course, has long worked with LG Chem on batteries)? Whatever Nissan decides, it needs to be ready to compete in a market that offers a $35,000, 200-mile car by 2017. "We have not taken any decision whatsoever to modify battery sourcing allocation." – Renault-Nissan's Rachel Konrad Nissan would not comment directly on the reported change, but Rachel Konrad, the Alliance's global director of communications and marketing told AutoblogGreen, "The Renault-Nissan Alliance remains 100 percent committed to its industry-leading EV program. This global commitment continues for the foreseeable future, and we have not taken any decision whatsoever to modify battery sourcing allocation. Nissan has no plans to impair its battery investments. Beyond that,we will not comment on speculation or anonymous sources, and as a matter of policy the Alliance does not confirm or deny procurement reviews." There's a point-of-view where it doesn't matter where the batteries come from if the resulting EV is competitive, price-wise. Renault CEO Carlos Ghosn, after all, said during a recent Twizy test drive that the battery is a means, and the objective is the car. In the end, Nissan is saying it has no near-term or medium-term plan to shutter plants in US or UK and CEO Carlos Ghosn says, "What's important to us is that electric car performance fully meets customer expectations." Whatever's going on, Ghosn has seen three top executives leave the Renault-Nissan family recently.

Renault's planned luxury sub-brand gets reconsidered

Fri, 29 Mar 2013

Renault believes there's enough Alpine love to restart that brand with its own model almost immediately. The launch of the Initiale Paris luxury brand it's been mulling, on the other hand, will be more restrained: a report in Autocar says that instead of launching with a first model based on the Mercedes E-Class architecture, Renault is going to introduce an Initiale Paris trim line on the new Clio and Espace. More accurately, that should be 're-introduce and aggressively market,' since Renault has used an Initiale Paris trim over the years since it introduced the concept car (pictured) in 1995, even as recently as the current-generation Laguna Coupe.
Other models will be added after the Clio and Espace, and when Renault can assess what kind of future the trim has, it will decide on the launch of a subsidiary brand. Company CEO Carlos Tavares said we shouldn't hang around waiting for a decision, though, declaring that establishing such a brand - if it even comes to that - "will be a job for at least my successor to worry about, not me."

Japan may aid carmakers facing U.S. tariff threat

Wed, Sep 12 2018

TOKYO — Japan is considering giving carmakers fiscal support including tax breaks to offset the impact from trade frictions with the United States and a sales-tax hike planned for next year, government sources told Reuters on Wednesday. Going into a second round of trade talks with the United States on Sept. 21, Japan is hoping to avert steep tariffs on its car exports and fend off U.S. demands for a bilateral free trade agreement that could put it under pressure to open politically sensitive markets, like agriculture. "If the trade talks pile pressure on Japan's car exports, we would need to consider measures to support the auto industry," a ruling party official said on condition of anonymity because of sensitivity of the matter. The auto industry accounts for about 20 percent of Japan's overall output and around 60-70 percent of the country's trade surplus with the United States, making it vulnerable to U.S. action against Japanese exports. Japan's biggest automakers and components suppliers fear they could take a significant hit if Washington follows through on proposals to hike tariffs on autos and auto parts to 25 percent. Policymakers also worry that an increase in the sales tax from 8 percent to 10 percent planned for October 2019, could cause a slump in sales of big-ticket items such as cars and home. Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has twice postponed the tax hike after the last increase from 5 percent in 2014 dealt a blow to private consumption, which accounts for about 60 percent of the economy. To prevent a pullback in demand after the tax hike, the government may consider large fiscal spending later when it draws up its budget for next year, government sources said. "One option may be to greatly reduce or abolish the automobile purchase tax," one of the government sources said. The government is also considering cuts in the automobile tax and automobile weight tax to help car buyers, the source added.
