2004 Nissan Sentra SE-R SPEC V

I purchased this car in 2007 down in Florida, with 64,000 original miles.  I was the third owner.  It now has approximately 161,345 miles.  I bought it as a daily commuter.  My commute to work is about 60 miles per day and the car averages 30 miles per gallon (60-65 mph) and uses regular gas.  The car has never been driven in the winter, so it has not been exposed to snow, ice or salt.   It is garaged every night and on the weekends.  The car has always been well maintained, washed weekly and simonized twice a year.   It has not been modified or raced or abused in any way.  It does not burn any oil whatsoever.   The oil has always been changed every 5000 miles with Mobil 1 Extended Synthetic Oil.  The paint is in exceptional condition, with some minor nicks and scratches you would expect on a 2004 car. The interior is excellent, with no rips or tears and only one imperfection on the left rear door and the right rear window has a small scratch on the inside window tinting (See pictures).

This is a hard to find car in this condition.  It would make a great car for a college student or a commuter.  These engines typically go over 200,000 miles with no problems!   A new battery and muffler were installed last year and a few months ago I installed new front and rear struts/springs and 4 Michelin pilot tires.  There is nothing wrong with this car, everything works as it should.  It can be driven anywhere.

The Kelly Blue Book value for this car, with this mileage and in this condition, is $4000.00.  My reserve is set much lower.

Tesla poaches Renault-Nissan communications boss Sproule

Thu, 13 Mar 2014

Need another sign that Tesla is growing into a force to be reckoned with? Bloomberg reports it has just snagged high-profile communications boss Simon Sproule from Renault-Nissan to become the EV maker's vice president of communications and marketing.
Sproule is an industry veteran, having spent 20 years at Nissan (where he grew to become CEO Carlos Ghosn's right-hand man). In addition, he logged stints at Ford, Jaguar (when it was still a Blue Oval-owned brand) and Microsoft. Despite all that experience, Sproule is still young, at just 45 years of age, as Bloomberg points out, yet he's held positions in the US, Japan and France over the years.
This is all good news for Tesla, which is in need of a strong spokesman outside of company CEO Elon Musk. It's been battling with the state of New Jersey and its governor, Chris Christie, over direct sales in the Garden State.

Mercedes considering Mexico for CLA production

Tue, 16 Jul 2013

Would you buy a Mercedes-Benz if it were made in Mexico? That's what the German outfit is wondering, as it considers localizing production of the its new budget model at a factory operated by Nissan, of which the automaker is a joint-venture partner.
According to a report from Automotive News, moving production of American-spec CLAs from Hungary to Mexico would protect Mercedes from currency fluctuations. "Mexico is the best location for the United States," Daimler Chairman Dieter Zetsche told AN. The CLA is also expected to become the brand's volume model in the US market, which makes North American production a logical move.
In the event that Mercedes approves the plan, Nissan would expand the capabilities at its Aguascalientes, Mexico plant, allowing production to begin in 2018.

Lebanon gets Interpol fugitive notice for Carlos Ghosn as escape details emerge

Thu, Jan 2 2020

BEIRUT — Lebanon's justice minister said Thursday that Lebanon has received an international wanted notice from Interpol for NissanÂ’s ex-chair Carlos Ghosn, four days after he fled Japan to Lebanon before a trial on financial misconduct charges. Albert Serhan told The Associated Press in an interview that the Red Notice for the former automotive titan was received earlier Thursday by the prosecution. Ghosn skipped bail before his much-anticipated trial, which was to start in April. He arrived in Lebanon, where he was raised after moving from Brazil as a young boy, on Monday via Turkey and hasn't been seen in public since. Authorities have said that he entered legally on a French passport. A plane carrying Ghosn arrived at 5:30 a.m. (0230 GMT) Monday at IstanbulÂ’s Ataturk Airport, Hurriyet reported, adding that prosecutors ordered the arrests after widening their investigation. Flight tracking data from that time suggests that Ghosn used two different planes to fly into Istanbul and then on to Lebanon. Japanese authorities allowed Ghosn to carry a spare French passport in a locked case while out on bail, public broadcaster NHK said on Thursday, shedding some light on how he managed his escape to Lebanon. While some Lebanese media have floated a Houdini-like account of Ghosn being packed in a wooden container for musical instruments after a private concert in his home, his wife called the account “fiction” when contacted by Reuters. She declined to provide details of the exit of one of the most recognized titans of industry. The accounts of the two sources suggest a carefully planned escape known only to a few. They said a private security firm oversaw the plan, which involved shuttling Ghosn out via a private jet to Istanbul before pushing onward to Beirut, with even the pilot unaware of GhosnÂ’s presence on board. InterpolÂ’s so-called Red Notices are requests to law enforcement agencies worldwide that they locate and provisionally arrest a wanted fugitive. Serhan, the minister, said the Lebanese prosecution “will carry out its duties,” suggesting for the first time that Ghosn may be brought in for questioning. But he said that Lebanon and Japan do not have an extradition treaty, ruling out the possibility that Beirut would hand Ghosn over to Japan One sources who spoke with Reuters said Ghosn was greeted warmly by President Michel Aoun on Monday after flying into Beirut via Istanbul and was now in a buoyant and combative mood and felt secure.
