The La Grange Illinois Police Department is offering the following vehicle for sale by auction:

Gold 2004 Nissan Sentra Base Sedan 4-Door 1.8L with a mileage of 96,805 miles.

This is a seized/forfeited vehicle and MUST be sold according to Illinois law; it MUST be sold in an auction-style setting such as eBay.  There is no Buy-It-Now option.  We will NOT accept any trades for this vehicle.  The vehicle is being sold AS IS with NO existing warranty, neither express nor implied.  The vehicle will be sold to the highest bidder after the starting price has been satisfied.  There is NO reserve on this vehicle.

The vehicle (again) has 96,805 miles.  The vehicle has the following components:  CD player, AM/FM stereo, A/C & heat, power windows and locks.  Due to the vehicle being in storage since January 2012 and not being started, we do not know if all electrical components are in working order.  We do not know if all lights, lamps, signals are functioning either, however, the last time the vehicle ran, all lights, lamps, signals were in working order.  The body seems to be in good condition with minor scratches throughout.

The vehicle will need a tune-up due to being in storage for the past 2 years.  The vehicle will need a new battery, new brakes, and new tires.  The previous owner was a heavy smoker, so there is an obvious smell of smoke and ashes within the vehicle.  The interior seats are in fair condition, however, VERY dirty.  Due to being a seized vehicle, we do not know a great deal about it's condition.

DISCLAIMER:  The vehicle (again) is a seized/forfeited vehicle and MUST be sold according to Illinois law; it MUST be sold in an auction-style setting such as eBay.  There is NO Buy-It-Now option.  We will NOT accept any trades for this vehicle.  The vehicle is being sold AS IS with NO existing warranty, neither express nor implied.  ALL sales are FINAL, NO returns will be accepted, and NO price adjustments will be given.  BUYER BEWARE: Due to this being a seized/forfeited vehicle and not driving it, we do NOT know a great deal about it's condition, it's history, prior damage, prior maintenance, etc.  Potential bidders are encouraged to view the vehicle in person prior to the bidding process, as there may be defects we are unaware of.  Potential bidders may have an independent inspection completed on the vehicle at there own expense prior to the bidding process.  The winning bidder is responsible for the pick up of the vehicle within seven (7) days or making arrangements with a private shipping service at their own expense.  We will NOT deliver the vehicle.  We have described the vehicle as completely and accurately as possible, however, we will not be responsible for undetected problems, incorrect specs, etc.

Should you have any questions or would like to view the vehicle in person, please contact me through eBay email, ask a question through the auction site, or telephone me at (708) 579-2334 and follow the prompt.  If I am unavailable at the time of your call, leave me a voice mail and I will return your call as soon as possible.  I am currently working 7:00am-3:00pm (CST).  The winning bidder should make a deposit through PayPal within 48 hours of the closed of the auction.  The winning bidder may pay in full upon pick up of the vehicle with either cash or a certified bank check ONLY, at which time a Bill Of Sale and clear title will be provided.  Again, pick up of the vehicle should be done within seven (7) days of the close of the auction.  Good Luck, Sgt. Cimbalista!

2014 Nissan Serena offers big flexibility in a tidy package

Fri, 22 Nov 2013

In America, Nissan attempts to slake our kinschlepping needs with its slow-selling Quest minivan, but in Japan, where consumers seem a lot less reluctant to buy MPVs, there are a lot more models for every size family and budget. Nissan itself offers no fewer than six such minivans, including the popular Serena seen here.
Technically a mid-cycle facelift, this new Serena continues to offer seating for up to eight people with a gas-only or mild hybrid driveline delivering power to either the front or all four wheels. This Tokyo Motor Show reveal takes that familiar package and lends it a freshened look, complete with a revamped front fascia with less chrome frosting, optional LED headlamps, new LED taillamps and new alloy wheel patterns. In addition, the Serena receives new active safety technology, including lane departure warning systems, Around View Monitor with Moving Option Detection, Driver Attention Alert, and so on.
With only a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine paired with a continuously variable transmission, you might expect the Serena to be smaller than today's American minivans, and you'd be right - it's roughly the size of a short-wheelbase Gen III Dodge Caravan, making its seating capacity particularly impressive. Said another way, the Serena is likely to stay forbidden fruit, but that doesn't mean you can't enjoy it in our gallery.

Nissan previews new Sport Sedan Concept ahead of Detroit debut

Tue, 31 Dec 2013

When the Cobo Center opens its doors in a couple of weeks for the Detroit Auto Show, there'll be plenty of new metal on display - and this is the latest.
Nissan announced today that it will bring a new Sport Sedan Concept to the Detroit show, releasing the short statement below accompanied by the teaser image above. Expected to hint at the next Maxima, the concept "previews a new energetic design direction that amplifies Nissan's legendary approach of applying sports car principles to a sedan."
That's about all Nissan is saying for now, so we'll have to wait a while longer to find out more. But the concept will be joined on the show floor by the IDx Freeflow and IDx Nismo concepts that'll be showcased for the first time in North American after their debut at the Tokyo Motor Show over a month ago.

Nissan prices limited-edition 2014 GT-R Track Edition from $115,710*

Wed, 01 May 2013

Nissan has released its pricing for the model-year 2014 GT-R, including the new Track Edition of Godzilla. The 2014 Nissan GT-R Premium will now command an MSRP of $99,590, while the Black Edition will go for $109,300 and the new Track Edition will ask $115,710 (*not including a $1,000 destination and handling charge for all models).
Nissan calls the GT-R Track Edition its most exclusive model, which makes sense as it will be limited to just 150 examples for the US market. The competition-ready Track Edition gets Bilstein DampTronic shocks and revised spring rates; all chosen after more development work by Nissan engineers at the Nürburgring. (Good work, if you can get it.) A carbon fiber rear spoiler and six-spoke black wheels come with the package, as do blue-trimmed, high-grip front seats inside. To save weight, the car's rear seats have been deleted in this model.
