I have restored this 2002 Nissan Sentra GXE inside and out. The interior is all new and freshly painted black. I took the whole interior out including the dash, washed everything then painted with Krylon Fusion for plastic. Seats have new covers, new carpet, brushed aluminum dash kit, new dark window tint, AM, FM, CD player, blue accent lighting on the front floor pan both sides. New performance power mirrors with turn signals in them, cold A/C, triple Sunpro gauges with A-pillar gauge pod, (Have the volt meter hooked up needs the oil pressure and water temp hooked up all wire are already ran)and much, much more. The outside has a new EVO 2 full body kit (Molded on, no seams) with 7" fog lights, (On separate lit toggle switch) custom made rear spoiler with 4" lip, brand new performance tires with less then 20 miles on them. Side window visors, (Molded on) rear window visor, molded on fender trim, hood scoop (Functional), roof scoop (non functional) The outside needs another full day of body work before it's ready for paint (95% done) The car has had 4 months in the hot Texas sun to cure the bondo and the molded on parts need to be finished with the last couple layers. The motor in it needs to be replaced; the 1.8 liter motor is no good knocks really bad. (REPEAT MOTOR NEEDS TO BE REPLACED) but can be rebuilt. That's way I'm selling it so cheap I have $8500.00 into it $5500.00 this year alone, I'm not going to spend any more money on it, so the first $1700.00 takes it off my hands. The car was in one minor accident I was rear ended had that damage fixed before the body kit was installed.

If you want more information on the car or a picture of something else you see or don't see, email me and I will try and take the shots you want to see. $1700.00 is cheap and the car won't last long at that price someone is going to get a really good project car with lots of extras in and on it. (You will need to arrange for towing on a flat bed trailer with an experienced hauler that knows how to get a really low car on the trailer without damaging it) This car sits low with the body kit.

Japan plans real-world diesel emissions test after companies fail

Fri, Mar 4 2016

Japan's transport ministry plans to start real-world diesel emissions tests after an experiment found four models from Toyota, Nissan, and Mitsubishi that produced more nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions than the nation's rules allow, according to The Japan Times. Regulators there usually only perform emissions checks in the lab. The VW diesel scandal has everyone double-checking their figures. Diesel versions of the Toyota Hiace van, Land Cruiser Prado, and Nissan X-Trail produced up to 10 times more NOx than allowed. The Mitsubishi Delica D:5 was up to five times over the limit, The Wall Street Journal reports. There was no evidence of defeat devices in the vehicles. Mazda performed well in the experiment, though. The CX-5 passed with nearly the same results on the road and in the lab. The Demio, better known as the Mazda2, did nearly as well with only slighter higher figures in the real world than in the controlled setting. The experimenters theorized the reason for the excessive emissions was that cold weather caused the engines' software to shut off the exhaust gas recirculation to prevent damage, according to the WSJ. However, this behavior also increased NOx production. Toyota, Nissan, and Mitsubishi don't have to worry about punishment from the transport ministry because this check was just an experiment. Their models already passed the mandated lab tests, which was the only requirement, according to The Japan Times. As governments begin greater real-world emissions tests, the results suggests diesels aren't very clean. A recent check in France found models from Ford, Renault, and Mercedes-Benz that didn't perform up to the standards. Regulators in India conducted similar evaluations and ordered VW to recall over 300,000 vehicles. Related Video:

Nissan to build Golf-fighter in Spain

Thu, 07 Feb 2013

Nissan hasn't had a proper European entry in the ridiculously popular compact hatchback segment since it stopped offering its somewhat staid and uninspiring Almera (above) in 2006. According to Automotive News Europe, the new machine, which will not be called Almera, will be marketed against the Volkswagen Golf and Ford Focus - two extremely popular models in Europe. Production is slated to begin in July of 2014.
The new compact will be built in Barcelona, Spain, at the factory that currently builds the Pathfinder, Navara pickup and NV200 commercial van. An investment of $178 million will be made to assemble the compact car, and an additional $27 million will go to the plant to create more trucks and transmissions for electric vehicles.
The decision to invest in Spain comes after the automaker successfully renegotiated contracts with local unions. Similar talks are underway in France, where Nissan partner Renault is based, but as of yet no new agreements have been struck. Feel free to browse through the official press release below.

Nissan alters all CVTs to act less like a stretched rubberband

Tue, 15 Jul 2014

Among automotive enthusiasts, no one seems to hold a neutral opinion when it comes to continuously variable transmissions. CVTs are either praised for their ability to boost fuel economy or chided for their occasionally poor driving dynamics. Nissan is among the masters of these un-shifting gearboxes in the US, and it uses them in many vehicles in its lineup. However, for the 2015 model year, several models are getting a software update to make their CVTs a bit more like a conventional automatic.
To give drivers the option of feeling gearshifts while on the road, Nissan is adding its D-Step Shift Logic feature to the CVTs in multiple vehicles. Steve Powers, Nissan's senior manager of powertrain performance, told Autoblog the system forces the transmission to "hold a ratio and then shift" to simulate the way that a traditional automatic would. It's simply a change in software, but the company "can't do it to older CVTs," he said, because it would require changes to transmission logic, as well. According to Automotive News, the upgrade is coming to the 2015 Versa, Versa Note (pictured above), Sentra, V6-equipped Altima, Pathfinder and Quest. "We're rolling it out to all programs," said Powers.
Interestingly, buyer perception appears to be pushing the upgrade. John Curl, a Nissan North America regional product manager, told Automotive News that the decision to add the tech partially comes because some owners are bothered that the CVTs aren't changing gears. According to Powers, D-Step "avoids the rubber band feel," that many drivers didn't like. The different sensation of these transmissions seems like something consumers would notice during the test drive, or that the salesperson would inform them about. The same issue cropped up last year when the company was facing customer satisfaction problems among new buyers customers' unfamiliarity with the gearboxes.
