This vehicle was purchased by me in 2005 and was a daily driver by me and then my son until a few of months ago when it experienced transmission issues.
Vehicle will not shift past second gear, it can be manually shifted from D1 to D2 to D to get to 3rd gear and about 40 mph. For this reason it is being sold for parts or repair.
It starts up and runs but transmission will need repair or replacement to get running correctly. Part of the exhaust was removed by transmission shop and is box in back of vehicle (see pics). It has been left off so transmission can be accessed for repair.
Only other operational issue with the car is that if you are using for parts or fix is that there are no speakers in the car. My son had an extensive sound system installed and it has been removed prior to selling. It is currently set up with aftermarket wiring and an adapter for installation of an aftermarket radio. Stock AM/FM cassette player and brackets is in back of vehicle if you want to use or install it instead (see pics). Aftermarket pro grade speaker wire has been run to all speaker locations but the speakers have been removed. There are also some screw holes, etc on the back hatch interior panels where amps were installed as well as the headliner (headliner also has small area cut out- see pics).
Besides the transmission, everything on vehicle works properly. Tires have about 20,000 miles on them and have good tread remaining.
Vehicle intertior has some wear due to age - dash has crack (see pics) but there are no rips or tears in the seats. Exterior paint is delaminating in areas - hood, roof, and top of fenders (see pics).
This has the potential to be a good running vehicle if you can get transmission fixed, but it is definitely a great parts truck.
Has the stock Nissan vehicle anti-theft system and two key fob remotes for keyless entry. Owners manuals are also included.
It has NGK performance wires and performance plugs, K & N filter, metal step running boards, full size spare, and towing package (receiver and wiring harness - no hitch), that could easily be transferred to another Pathfinder in the same year range that is worth the asking price. Also has aftermarket floor mats in front, rear, and cargo area (see pics).

2013 Nissan Pathfinder: Wrap-Up [w/video]
Tue, 13 May 2014Despite our tendency as enthusiasts to clamor for things like wagons and hot hatchbacks, it's hard to argue with the buying public's increasing demand for functional crossovers. In fact, the great SUV craze of the late-1990s has all but faded in favor of the easier-driving, better-packaged, more-efficient crossover. That's even true at the larger end of the market - just look at what happened when Ford redesigned its body-on-frame Explorer into a stylish and well-equipped CUV. And now look at the similar success Nissan has had in repurposing its rugged Pathfinder sport-ute as an appealing crossover.
But happily, we report the following line: out of every long-term vehicle Autoblog has ever tested, not a single one has been as in-demand as the 2013 Pathfinder Platinum you see here. After 13 months of solid use, we added 24,372 miles to the Pfinder's odometer - and that's without the vehicle ever leaving the hands of our Detroit-based team (sorry, West Coasters).
There's good reason for that high-demand usage, too. After spending a little over a year with our Mocha Stone tester (a color that earned this Nissan the nickname "Sweet Brown") we came to appreciate its vast versatility, comfort, all-weather prowess, and the way it absolutely ate up the miles on long trips. We drove it all over the United States, in all four seasons, filling it with our families, friends, and occasionally using its capacious cabin for sleeping on the road. Through good and bad, the Pathfinder was a trusty friend. But like any good friendship, that wasn't without a couple of fights.
Question of the Day: Most heinous act of badge engineering?
Wed, Dec 30 2015Badge engineering, in which one company slaps its emblems on another company's product and sells it, has a long history in the automotive industry. When Sears wanted to sell cars, a deal was made with Kaiser-Frazer and the Sears Allstate was born. Iranians wanted new cars in the 1960s, and the Rootes Group was happy to offer Hillman Hunters for sale as Iran Khodro Paykans. Sometimes, though, certain badge-engineered vehicles made sense only in the 26th hour of negotiations between companies. The Suzuki Equator, say, which was a puzzling rebadge job of the Nissan Frontier. How did that happen? My personal favorite what-the-heck-were-they-thinking example of badge engineering is the 1971-1973 Plymouth Cricket. Chrysler Europe, through its ownership of the Rootes Group, was able to ship over Hillman Avanger subcompacts for sale in the US market. This would have made sense... if Chrysler hadn't already been selling rebadged Mitsubishi Colt Galants (as Dodge Colts) and Simca 1100s as (Simca 1204s) in its American showrooms. Few bought the Cricket, despite its cheery ad campaign. So, what's the badge-engineered car you find most confounding? 2015 Nissan Versa Note adds sporty-ish SR trim
Thu, 06 Feb 2014The funny, little Nissan Versa Note is getting a new trim level - two, actually - for the 2015 model year. And the one you see above is the sporty-ish Note SR, making its debut at the Chicago Auto Show this week.
Underneath, it's the same Versa Note we've already driven, complete with Nissan's 109-horsepower, 1.6-liter inline four-cylinder engine and up to 40 miles per gallon highway. The SR's changes are purely cosmetic, with a revised front fascia featuring smoked headlamps, standard foglamps and black chrome accents. Those are matched with new dark-finished 16-inch alloy wheels, revised mirrors and side sills, along with a new rear roof spoiler.
A few interior enhancements have been made, as well, with the addition of a "370Z-inspired" leather-wrapped steering wheel, suede-like fabric on the seats with orange accents and a piano-black center stack.
