Nissan Hardbody Pickup 720 on 2040-cars
Sweetwater, Tennessee, United States
Runs great, drives great, easy on gas and I have no worries about driving it anywhere I need to go. It has the very reliable four cylinder engine with five speed manual shift transmission. This model did not come with power steering, but its not terrible once you get used to it. Has excellent paint, no cracked or damaged glass, no major dents, or any rust. Tires are all terrain Cooper's with guaranteed less than 500 miles on them. The wheels are off of a 2001 Frontier. The rear bumper does have some rust on the bottom side, but not terribly visible. We just had new tie rod ends, upper and lower ball joints installed as well as the front end alignment before the new tires went on. As for the interior, it has the cloth bench seat, descent carpet and pathfinder door panels. I also have the old original door panels that go with it. The dash does have cracks in the topside of it which is typical for these trucks and it does have a sony cd player that lights up, but doesnt display? It has heat and good a/c, all dash instruments, signals, wipers and such work as they should except for the high beams. Headlights are bright enough on dim that I've really haven't worried about finding out why they don't work. It has a newer chest style tool box in the bed with keys to lock stuff up as well. It is a good dependable truck with plenty of life left. Got other vehicles now and don't necessarily need it anymore. This truck is in much better shape than most of the same or newer year models out there. A lot of them are beat up, covered up in miles, need tires, need battery, missing jack and spare, need this and don't have that. Plus whatever the previous owner lets you find out later down the road after you have bought it. Whoops, must have slipped my mind, sorry. Well I know how it feels so I describe my stuff truthfully and want you to know exactly what you will be getting. This one is ready to go with a clear Tn. title, come drive it, kick the tires, get up and under it, check the oil or jump in the back and do back flips if you want to! Just not gonna give it away. Nothing to hide here. The ONLY trade I will consider would be for a 99 and up Crown Vic in like condition. Phone texts will not be answered. If your truly interested in this truck you can take the time to call and we can get so much more done instead of texting back and forth for hours. If no answer, leave message and I will get back with you asap. SERIOUS(423)BUYERS(836)ONLY(0573) may contact up til 10 p.m please.

Nissan NV200 Taxi
Thu, 21 Aug 2014"You're a long way from home!"
When I signed up to drive a pre-production version of the Nissan NV200 Taxi, I expected to have a higher-than-normal level of interaction with the public at large. However, while I was hoping for unsuspecting Ann Arborites to perhaps hail me down, or maybe even get a hop-in when stopped at an intersection, I didn't really think I'd be hassled in parking lots so much. And yet, almost as if all of the Dad-Joke energy in the universe was drawn to my tall, yellow ride, seemingly everywhere I parked I heard some iteration of the phrase above.
Har har, guys.
Nissan Canada to end Versa sales with Micra launch
Mon, 24 Feb 2014There's plenty of space in Canada. In fact, with the second largest land mass of any country in the world, Canada has a population density of just nine people per square mile. But apparently there isn't enough room for more than one cheap Nissan in the True North, Strong and Free.
As you may recall, Nissan Canada recently announced it would begin offering the Micra hatchback with a starting price of less than ten thousand Canadian dollars - significantly less than the nearly $12k it charges for the Versa sedan. As a result, Nissan will reportedly cease offering the Versa sedan in new home of the olympic gold medal for hockey.
Apparently the Versa was a slow seller in Canada, a country in which European tastes tend to prevail - particularly in the Eastern provinces - more than they do in the United States to the south. Nissan evidently hopes that the Micra (a model created principally for the European market) will do better than the American-centric Versa ever did there. According to sales numbers cited by Automotive News, Nissan sold barely more than 12,000 Versa sedans and hatchbacks in Canada last year, but over 117,000 in the United States.
Nissan shows how EVs are breaking the niche barrier in Norway
Tue, Nov 4 2014Call it Keeping up with the Hansens. Through a combination of environmental consciousness, big-time government incentives and good old-fashioned peer pressure, Norway has become the country with the highest number of electric vehicles per capita. And Nissan couldn't be happier. EVs have about a 15-percent new-vehicle market share in Norway, Nissan says in a new four-minute video called No Longer Niche (watch it below). Between Norway's cheap electricity and incentives such as bus-lane use, free parking and free public recharging, Nissan's sold more than 15,000 of its all-electric Leaf EVs since sales started in Norway in 2011. In fact, Norway's EV incentives were scheduled to run through 2017, but the rules' 50,000-EV threshold may be reached as soon as next year. The rising (and, we suspect, somewhat frigid) EV tide has helped other vehicle makers, to a lesser extent. This past spring, The Wall Street Journal reported that Tesla Motors' all-electric Model S sold almost 1,500 units in March, breaking the all-time single-model monthly sales record for the country. To put EVs' 15-percent market share in perspective, consider this: last year, Ford F-Series pickups, the biggest-selling US model, accounted for about five percent of US new vehicle sales. So, in order to visualize the EV effect in Norway, imagine three times as many Ford F-Series pickups on the road in the US as there are now. On second thought, don't.
