This is a 1995 Nissan Pickup that has been converted to full electric operation. All manuals and information from the manufacturers of the electric conversion parts and books on how to convert to electric are included. The truck itself is in Good Condition, could use some body work, but runs and DRIVES PERFECT!! Can cruise down the Highway at 70mph NO PROBLEM and has a couple hundred mile range. Can easily be charged simply by plugging in to any standard 110V plug. WHY PAY HUNDREDS OR THOUSANDS TO INSTALL THOSE NEW POWER STATIONS REQUIRED FOR THE NISSAN LEAF AND OTHER EV'S!? Charge at HOME, work, at a rest stop, or anywhere else you can run an extension cord or find a standard plug. If you got a plug-in you got "GAS!" Has full electric motor and standard "clutchless" transmission. DC Amp meters show current usage and the amount of charge left or "fuel left in the tank". All electric ammenities and operations OTHER THAN the motor run off a back up 12V standard auto battery and is charged via standard alternator converted to charge off rear axle power. Vehicle itself (ENGINE) operates on 144V or 12 - 12V auto batteries. The batteries are located in the bed of the pickup and protected from the weather with a cap (included), and also includes the charging system, giving you the ability to plug in to any STANDARD 110V household outlet and have a LARGE variety of charging options including but not limited to quick charge, trickle charge, etc as well as a master/emergency shutoff located on the passenger side which can be pulled at any point to disconnect all power to the vehicle in case of emergency or if necessary for any other reason including storage. Meters included in dash tell you current charge level (fuel left) and current usage (elec. version of MPG) for the main batteries (in the bed) as well as current charging volts for the accessory/back up battery (back up batt. is located under the hood). You will receive all the manuals and information included with the conversion and any information you could ever need or would ever need to know about the conversion for this vehicle AND/OR EVEN TO CONVERT ANOTHER VEHICLE, if you feel up to it. MOST IMPORTANTLY!! NO TAX BREAK HAS BEEN USED OR REQUESTED FOR THIS VEHICLE SO YOU WILL HAVE EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO WRITE THIS VEHICLE AND IT'S PURCHASE/CONVERSION OFF ON THIS YEARS TAXES!! Wiring schematics etc are also included with mapping of all individual components. All work has been professionally and intelligently done by capable hands with 50+ years of experience with building, designing, engineering, electrical, and inventing PLUS MUCH MUCH MORE KNOWLEDGE! Truly a master of all trades or anything needed to build something with your hands or practically any tool you can imagine. Have no worries when purchasing this vehicle. Although the bodywork etc could be used as a project, the Conversion of this vehicle is NOT A PROJECT, and is complete/finished for the end user!! PRACTICALLY NO MAINTENANCE REQUIRED!! Never pay for another oil change! Never buy another drop of fuel! Brakes, tires, and batteries are practically all you will ever need to worry about. As with any automotive battery you should expect to easily get 7-10 years OR MORE out of the batteries with normal and responsible use and care. This is not a toy, has been adult maintained and adult constructed. If you are looking for a BRAND NEW CAR this is not for you, it is a 1995, however there's less than 400 miles on the Electric Motor and the Conversion. Although there are a few miles on the Truck itself, not much remains of the original truck besides the frame and body.
My Father-In-Law built this conversion, I am simply selling it for him, he is a genius with this type of work! Some may find it silly that he JUST built this and is already selling it, but that's just how he works. How many people do you know can say they can, and have, built an electric vehicle you can drive everyday and plug into the wall in your garage?? He only wanted to prove to himself and others that he COULD build it, and then ACTUALLY build it for the experience. Now it's time for someone else to enjoy it as he moves on to his next project - a Ford F-350 Diesel that he'll convert so it will run purely on firewood/coal (or any other material you can burn) and the gas it expells as it burns OR Diesel, if you choose, with the flick of a switch. He enjoys inventing and converting vehicles (and other things) to run for FREE, or practically free, on alternative sources of fuel.
Please be aware aside from any value of the truck itself, any cost for labor to build and convert the truck, or additional materials necessary, the parts, motor, batteries, chargers, shut-off, etc ALONE cost over $7000! So this is a GREAT DEAL!! This can be a fun vehicle, a project, or even a daily driver!! Great for anyone who drives long distances to work or has a second vehicle that gets 10mpg (gas) but could really use something like this for all the everyday needs and trips.
The last EV (Electric Vehicle) project he helped put together went within HOURS of posting so DON'T HESITATE! BID now! All paperwork is normal as far as Title, Registration, etc. and nothing is different or difficult for you to transfer ownership. Nothing is different or difficult for Inspection, Registration, etc. VEHICLE IS READY TO DRIVE AND HAS BEEN DRIVEN! Title is here and ready to sign over. The vehicle doesn't move until CASH is IN HAND just FYI. Everything you need to Write off the conversion on your taxes will also be included and seperate Bills/Receipts can be written for the vehicle and the conversion if necessary to save on taxes etc for registration/ownership.

Nissan: We lose money on each Leaf replacement battery
Thu, 24 Jul 2014Nissan has been playing its cards pretty close to its chest when it comes to the production costs for Leaf battery packs. The company recently put a price on replacement batteries for customers at $5,500 plus the requirement to return the old battery. If the decommissioned battery is worth $1,000 to Nissan, as they have stated, that means the battery costs about $6,500 to make, right? Maybe even less if Nissan wants to turn a profit, as automakers are wont to do? Wrong.
Green Car Reports spoke to Nissan about these battery costs, and found that the automaker actually loses money on selling the replacement battery for the Leaf at the current price. Jeff Kuhlman, Nissan's vice president of global communications said, "Nissan makes zero margin on the replacement program. In fact, we subvent every exchange." All you English majors will know that "subvent" is a fancy way to say "subsidize." Kuhlman added, though, "We have yet to sell one battery as part of the program."
The fact that Nissan offers its replacement batteries for less than it costs to manufacture them is telling of a company both cares about what its customer needs and is dedicated to the success of its product. In this case, both of those things encourage people to give up fossil fuels and adopt electric mobility, which is heartening. As more people switch to battery-powered driving, though, battery technology should become better and cheaper, and the scale of production should cause manufacturing costs to decrease. Eventually, Nissan could easily see itself breaking even selling the Leaf battery replacements.
Recharge Wrap-up: No Tesla Gigafactory deal with California, BMW i3 recalled
Thu, Sep 4 2014Before the Nevada announcement was hinted at, a deal to incentivize a Tesla Gigafactory in California fell through. Tesla was looking for around $500 million in incentives, which the California Governor's Office of Business and Economic Development was willing to offer in tax breaks along with making the permit and environmental processes easier. According to Senator Ted Gaines, there still remained "a gap between what Tesla wanted and what California was willing to offer," the contents of which were undisclosed. California could still be chosen for another of Tesla's battery plants, should those ever materialize. Read more at The Desert Sun. The California Air Resources Board (CARB) will consider allowing a bit of compliance flexibility to its Zero Emission Vehicle (ZEV) regulations for some automakers. CARB will hold a hearing to discuss giving intermediate volume manufacturers (IVMs) - carmakers that do between 4,501 and 60,000 new vehicle sales in the state - some leniency catching up to the larger manufacturers when it comes to clean vehicle production. The ZEV regulation changes take into account the amount of revenue IVMs have available for developing the cars, particularly plug-in hybrids. Read more at Green Car Congress or see the notice from CARB here. Certain units of the BMW i3 are subject to an airbag recall. For cars built March 31, 2014, the passenger airbag inflator may have been assembled incorrectly, which could keep it from deploying when needed. Owners will be notified by BMW, and the problem will be fixed for free. The recall also affects certain 2014 Mini Cooper models. Learn more at the NHTSA website. The Renault-Nissan Alliance is providing 200 electric vehicles to telecommunications company Orange in France. The cars, which will include the Nissan Leaf, Nissan e-NV200, Renault ZOE and Renault Kangoo ZE, will be used mostly for carsharing. Through the program, Orange employees can book a car for work or personal travel using a smartphone. The Alliance will also help Orange install charging stations for the new cars. The addition of the EVs to the fleet will help Orange achieve its goal of reducing its carbon footprint by 20 percent by 2020. Read more in the press release, below. 2013 Nissan Pathfinder: April 2013
Fri, 26 Apr 2013Not Just For Families
Since our long-term 2013 Nissan Pathfinder joined the Autoblog Garage in late December of last year, the only time I've really spent with it has been during the short periods of time between my co-workers' longer loans. Until now, my experiences with our Mocha Stone tester have been limited to pick-ups and drop-offs at various locations around the greater Michigan/Ohio area, not to mention keeping the vehicle clean inside and out, as well as handling our first bit of scheduled maintenance in late March.
I was pleased, then, to actually be able to spend most of the month of April with our Pathfinder, finally giving me a chance to see what everyone else does and does not like about Nissan's new crossover. But here's the thing: I'm admittedly not the ideal person to test a family-minded vehicle. I'm single and in my late twenties, so something like our other long-term car, the 2013 Hyundai Veloster Turbo, is better suited to meet my everyday needs.
