2006 Nissan Murano Sl Original Owner. Gorgeous. Low Reserve. on 2040-cars
Cranford, New Jersey, United States
I am selling my 2006 Murano SL. It is a gorgeous car. I am the only person who has ever owned and/or operated this vehicle. NON SMOKER ! Bought new in 2006 . It has been 90% highway miles. I am a salesman and i travel around NJ..most of this driving was on the garden state parkway, route 80 etc. very little if no city driving. I recently purchased a 2014 vehicle ( i like to buy a new car every 6 to 8 years) I will miss this car as its gorgeous and actually a lot more luxurious and loaded then my 2014 vehicle. I have recently paid it off and will have the title IN HAND by the time this auction is over. I originally leased the car in 2006, then bought it out, and financed it to pay it off completely from 2010 until i paid it off earlier this month. The car must be SEEN to be appreciated. SHE HAS NEVER BEEN IN ANY ACCIDENTS OR FENDER BENDERS. I changed the fluids regularly in the car and have all of the service records...JUST A FEW MONTHS AGO GOT ALL 4 TIRES REPLACED AS WELL AS ALL BRAKES REPLACED FRONT AND REAR WITH NEW DISCS.. THIS COST A FEW THOUSAND DOLLARS...ALSO I HAD THE BATTERY REPLACED JUST A FEW MONTHS AGO AS WELL. I HAD AN OIL LEAK FIXED (GASKET WORE OUT) AND I HAD THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER REPLACED. The cluster was malfunctioning and i could not see how fast i was going, how much gas i had left etc. I brought it and and they sold me a USED cluster. This instrument cluster says the car has 73,000 miles on it, (this was the amount of miles of the previous car it belonged too) I did not want to buy a new cluster and pay thousands..this looks exactly the same and IS the same type of cluster i had on the car already. I HAVE BOTH CLUSTERS AND YOU WILL GET BOTH OF THEM. THE OLD ONE IS IN THE TRUNK OF THE CAR. I am an honorable seller, and i am not passing off the car as having 73 k miles..it has somewhere in the area of 130k... I HAVE ALL THE OLD SERVICE RECORDS LEADING UP AND INTO 2013 , BEFORE THE CLUSTER BROKE...AND THE POTENTIAL BUYER CAN FOLLOW THE MILEAGE THRU THOSE RECORDS ALL THE WAY THROUGH.
JUST THE OTHER DAY I HAD THE OIL CHANGED. AND HAVE THE RECEIPT. I DID THIS WHEN I HAD THE CLUSTER CHANGED OUT....YA SEE, I COULD NOT SELL THIS CAR WITHOUT A FUNCTIONING EQUIPMENT CLUSTER, SO I GOT THE NEW CLUSTER IN ORDER TO SELL THE CAR. THE FACILITY THAT FIXED IT SAID THEY DID NOT HAVE THE EQUIPMENT TO SYNC THE CLUSTER WITH THE COMPUTER, THAT WOULD REVEAL THE ACTUAL MILEAGE...WHICH SHOULD BE SOMEWHERE IN THAT 130K RANGE. The car runs great, always starts, never stalls, etc... It has every bell and whistle imaginable , with the exception of a built in GPS, i am leaving my PORTABLE GPS in the car, with the mounting brackets, power cords and all.. So in a way its all ready GPS equipped.. i ALSO JUST HAD IT PROFESSIONALLY DETAILED YESTERDAY. THAT COST ME OVER 200 DOLLARS. IN SUMMARY, ALL THE EQUIPMENT WORKS GREAT, AND HERE IS SOME MORE TO THINK ABOUT. . 1. AC WORKS GREAT, REAR VENTS TOO. 2. POWER MIRRORS GREAT 3. HEATED SEATS GREAT 4. BACK UP CAMERA GREAT 5. ELECTRIC SLIDING AND TILTING SUNROOF GREAT 6. 10 WAY DRIVERS SEAT, LUMBAR, GREAT 7. POWER PASSENGER SEAT, GREAT 8. 4 NEW TIRES 9. ALL NEW BRAKES/ PADS, DISCS 10. RADIO WITH 6 CD CHANGER, GREAT, 240 WATTS, AMAZING POWERFUL SOUND, THIS WAS AN UPGRADE. EVEN HAS A CASSETTE PLAYER ! EVERYTHING IN THE CAR IS FACTORY INSTALLED . I ADDED NOTHING AFTER MARKET. 11. PASSENGER SEAT AND BACK SEAT HARDLY EVER SAT IN ! BACK IS PRISTINE. 12. NON SMOKER. NO CIGARETTE HAS EVER BEEN SMOKED IN THIS CAR !! 13. LEATHER WRAPPED STEERING WHEEL, NICE. 14. LUGGAGE RACKS AND RAILS ON ROOF, I NEVER USED ONCE. 15 POWER LOCKS , GREAT 16 POWER WINDOWS GREAT 17. AUTO DIMMING REARVIEW MIRROR. GREAT. 18 . LIGHTED SUN VISORS (the drivers side one hangs a bit low, i secured it with velcro) NOT GREAT, CHEAP TO REPLACE IF WANTED. 19. WIPERS COULD USE REPLACING. (MINOR DOLLARS, FRONT AND REAR) 20. IT WAS SUGGESTED I GET NEW STRUTS IN THE FRONT., YOU CAN FEEL IT A LITTLE OVER BUMPS. THIS WAS SAID NOT TO BE NECESSARY, BUT WOULD HELP OUT THE RIDE OVER THE BUMPS. THE STRUTS ARE THE ONLY MECHANICAL THING I BELIEVE THIS CAR CAN USE. I NEVER REPLACED THE STRUTS BECAUSE IT NEVER BOTHERED ME. 21. TRANSMISSION IS GREAT, HAS BEEN FLAWLESS SINCE I HAVE OWNED IT. AUTOMATICALLY SHIFTS BEAUTIFULLY. 22. CLEAN TITLE, WHICH I SHOULD HAVE IN MY HANDS BY THE END OF DECEMBER. 23. KEY LESS ENTRY, WORKS GREAT, AND THE CAR STARTS WITHOUT THE USE OF THE KEY, JUST KEEP IN YOUR POCKET. 24. $ 38,000 DOLLARS WAS THE LIST PRICE ON THIS CAR. I LOVE THIS CAR. 25. CRUISE, TILT STEERING, LIGHTS, BLINKERS..ALL WORK GREAT. 26. THE ONLY THING I CAN THINK OF IN TIME IS FOR THE BUYER TO GET THE FRONT STRUTS DONE, I DID EVERYTHING ELSE ! 27. JUST HAD THE CAR PROFESSIONALLY DETAILED AT A COST OF $ 210.00.. 28. LEATHER AND THE INTERIOR IS VERY NICE. ONLY MY SEAT HAS BEEN USED 29. PAINT IS GREAT ON THE OUTSIDE, JUST VERY VERY MINOR CHIPS AND SCRATCHES HERE OR THERE.. TINY CHIP IN THE FRONT WINDSHIELD AROUND THE PASSENGER SIDE. NEVER FIXED IT..BECAUSE NOT IN THE LINE OF SIGHT AND MINOR. 30. ALL WHEEL DRIVE VEHICLE, HANDLES GREAT IN THE SNOW. 31. THE NEW EQUIPMENT CLUSTER COST ME $ 500.00, SO NO WORRIES ON THAT. 32. DVD SYSTEM FOR REAR PASSENGERS, I NEVER EVEN USED THIS BUT ONCE ! COMES WITH A REMOTE CONTROL. LOOKED AND SOUNDED GREAT. I HAVE NOT PUT THIS ON SINCE 2006. 33. VEHICLE JUST RECENTLY PASSED INSPECTION. HAS A STICKER NOW OF MID 2015. ALL IN ALL A GREAT AND VERY RELIABLE CAR. BUT AS A ROAD SALESMAN I HAVE TO REPLACE MY CARS EVERY 6 TO 8 YEARS. MY RESERVE IS VERY LOW ON THIS. THE KELLEY BLUE BOOK SAYS PRIVATE BUYERS SHOULD EXPECT TO SPEND AROUND 9K FOR THIS VEHICLE IN THIS CONDITION. MY RESERVE IS NOT EVEN CLOSE TO THAT ! PLEASE FEEL FREE TO CALL ME AND ASK ME ANY QUESTIONS. I LIVE IN NEW JERSEY, AND DO NOT WANT TO REALLY SHIP THIS CAR. I LIVE CLOSE ENOUGH TO MUCH OF THE WORLD, THAT YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO PICK IT UP. PLUS I WOULD RATHER HAVE SOMEONE MEET ME AND SEE THE CAR FOR THEMSELVES. ALSO, YOU CAN COME VISIT THE CAR BEFORE MAKING A BID IF YOU LIKE . JUST CONTACT ME AND WE CAN SET SOMETHING UP. LASTLY, I SOLD MY LAST CAR ON EBAY, IT WAS A NISSAN MAXIMA.. AND THE PERSON WHO BOUGHT IT GAVE ME HIGH MARKS..HE LOVED THE CAR. |

IIHS: High numbers of drivers treat partially automated cars as fully self-driving
Tue, Oct 11 2022WASHINGTON — Drivers using advanced driver assistance systems like Tesla Autopilot or General Motors Super Cruise often treat their vehicles as fully self-driving despite warnings, a new study has found. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), an industry funded group that prods automakers to make safer vehicles, said on Tuesday a survey found regular users of Super Cruise, Nissan/Infiniti ProPILOT Assist and Tesla Autopilot "said they were more likely to perform non-driving-related activities like eating or texting while using their partial automation systems than while driving unassisted." The IIHS study of 600 active users found 53% of Super Cruise, 42% of Autopilot and 12% of ProPILOT Assist owners "said that they were comfortable treating their vehicles as fully self-driving." About 40% of users of Autopilot and Super Cruise — two systems with lockout features for failing to pay attention — reported systems had at some point switched off while they were driving and would not reactivate. "The big-picture message here is that the early adopters of these systems still have a poor understanding of the technologyÂ’s limits," said IIHS President David Harkey. The study comes as the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is scrutinizing Autopilot crashes. Since 2016, the NHTSA has opened 37 special investigations involving 18 deaths in crashes involving Tesla vehicles and where systems like Autopilot were suspected of use. Tesla did not respond to requests for comment. Tesla says Autopilot does not make vehicles autonomous and is intended for use with a fully attentive driver who is prepared to take over. GM, which in August said owners could use Super Cruise on 400,000 miles (643,740 km) of North American roads and plans to offer Super Cruise on 22 models by the end of 2023, did not immediately comment. IIHS said advertisements for Super Cruise focus on hands-free capabilities while Autopilot evokes the name used in passenger airplanes and "implies TeslaÂ’s system is more capable than it really is." IIHS in contrast noted ProPILOT Assist "suggests that itÂ’s an assistance feature, rather than a replacement for the driver." NHTSA and automakers say none of the systems make vehicles autonomous. Nissan said its name "is clearly communicating ProPILOT Assist as a system to aid the driver, and it requires hands-on operation.
37K miles in a 1967 Datsun Roadster
Tue, 11 Mar 2014When we think of comfy, long-distance road cars, there are a few obvious choices. A Mercedes-Benz S-Class, Bentley Continental GT or, assuming fuel efficiency isn't paramount, a Range Rover are all good options for a road trip. But what if that road trip was 37,000 miles? Maybe something more reliable but still comfortable, then, like a Honda Accord. What about a 1967 Datsun Roadster?
As insane as it sounds, Scott Fisher is doing just that, running a Datsun 1600 Roadster across North America and racking up 13,500 miles in his first three months on the road. His total journey will see him pile over 37,000 miles on his red convertible. The car is lightly modified, but most of the work is for the sake of reliability and comfort, with a five-speed manual 'box, an upgraded radiator and electronic ignition.
Fisher's trip hasn't been all smooth, with a few typical bits of trouble. He also ran into some deer in Utah, quite literally, clipping one of the animals, which delivered quite a bit of damage to the passenger's front fender (hence the rear three-quarter view in our lead shot). Still, the car seems to be holding up well, as shown in this latest video from Petrolicious.
Nissan Shows Self-Cleaning Car Coated In Nano Paint
Fri, Apr 25 2014Washing the car is an activity like mowing the lawn that some people love and others find to be an absolute chore. For the latter group, Nissan may have an answer. Nissan is testing a nano-paint coating that could make the car wash a very infrequent place to visit. Shown on a European Note hatchback, the key is a special layer of super- hydrophobic and oleophobic material called Ultra-Ever Dry that is sprayed over the paint. It creates a protective layer between the body and environment, and it means that when dirt or water come into contact with the car, the gunk just sheets away. Nissan admits that the coating is still early in testing. The key will be if the stuff can actually last for the long term, and the company will be analyzing it over the coming months to see how it will react in different conditions. At the moment, the automaker has no plans to offer Ultra-Ever Dry as a standard feature, but it may make it available as an aftermarket addition in the future.
