Switzer Ultimate Street Edition on 2040-cars
Albuquerque, New Mexico, United States
Thanks for taking a look at my 2013 Switzer Ultimate Street Edition GTR. It is a Black Edition model and therefore has the nicer interior with the Recaro seats, CF enhancements on the interior, CF wing and front splitter. I am the second owner of the car. The first owner was one of the head honchos at Switzer. The car was stock when I purchased it, and had roughly 6000 miles. I immediately installed a Switzer P800 package (installed by Switzer), and after about 1500 miles I was enticed by Switzer to upgrade to the Ultimate Street Edition package (also installed by Switzer). I have since put roughly another 1000 miles on the car. The car currently has 8900 miles on the odometer. The car has never been to the track or to the drag strip. It has been launched 5 times since the Ultimate Street Edition build. The car has seen the vast majority of it's mileage while being driven back and forth from my office. The GTR received new engine oil and transmission oil 2 months ago. My car comes with both a Cobb and an EcuTek, and has been custom tuned by Ben Linney (if you don't know Ben, just look him up and you will see his impressive GTR-tuning credentials on the GTRLife forum). Engine upgrade package is here... http://www.switzerpe...n-ultimate-flex Wheels are one-piece aluminum from Switzer... http://www.switzerpe...-switzer-wheels Brakes are enhanced per Switzer... J-hook rotors front and rear. SPI R35 GTR Nano Carbon Brake Pads front and rear. Cosmetic... Clear bra on entire front fascia, hood, front fenders, side mirrors. If the new owner elects to violate the posted speed limit, the GTR is equipped with a built-in Escort radar/laser detector with front and rear sensors, and the display is discretely built into the rear view mirror. The car has a back-up camera, and all the bells and whistles that Nissan could conjure up for their super car. The Nissan is still covered by it's factory warranty, though the modified driveline is obviously not covered by Nissan. Switzer has a fantastic track record for durability, so the new owner should not worry about this being a temperamental mechanism. It's been nothing but reliable for me. This car truly is a "daily driver." It starts and runs and idles and drives just like a normal GTR, only it sounds a bit deeper. The difference between my car and a stock GTR becomes readily evident once you press the throttle a bit. It makes a stock GTR seem like you are driving a Sentra. I am selling the GTR because I just don't drive it enough to justify owning such a magnificent machine. I have become very seriously involved in bicycle racing, which for now seems to satisfy my need for speed. The Nissan has been a very fun project, and is by far the most entertaining, and wickedly fast car that I have ever experienced (and I'm a car guy, so I've been in some fast cars). The combination of easy, comfortable daily driving, with the ability to go insanely fast, but with no drama is astonishing. This car might arguably be the 8th wonder of the world. I have the title in hand. There are no excuses or weird stories pertaining to the car. It's just pure awesomeness awaiting a new owner!

Renault's planned luxury sub-brand gets reconsidered
Fri, 29 Mar 2013Renault believes there's enough Alpine love to restart that brand with its own model almost immediately. The launch of the Initiale Paris luxury brand it's been mulling, on the other hand, will be more restrained: a report in Autocar says that instead of launching with a first model based on the Mercedes E-Class architecture, Renault is going to introduce an Initiale Paris trim line on the new Clio and Espace. More accurately, that should be 're-introduce and aggressively market,' since Renault has used an Initiale Paris trim over the years since it introduced the concept car (pictured) in 1995, even as recently as the current-generation Laguna Coupe.
Other models will be added after the Clio and Espace, and when Renault can assess what kind of future the trim has, it will decide on the launch of a subsidiary brand. Company CEO Carlos Tavares said we shouldn't hang around waiting for a decision, though, declaring that establishing such a brand - if it even comes to that - "will be a job for at least my successor to worry about, not me."
Nissan Leaf sells 3,186 in best month ever as Chevy moves 2,511 Volts
Wed, Sep 3 2014The end of summer seems to inspire people to go out and buy a lot of plug-in vehicles. Last year, for example, the Chevy Volt had its best month ever in August, with 3,351 sales. This year, the Nissan Leaf is going up to the winner's podium, setting its own best-ever record with 3,186 units sold. This beats the Leaf's previous record by 69 vehicles. This beats the Leaf's previous record of 3,117 set in May 2014 by 69 vehicles and is up 31.7 percent from August 2013. Nissan is once again quick to remind us that the popular EV's record sales streak has now been extended to 18 months in a row. This record is simply noting that the current month, in this case August, had the highest sales that that month has ever seen in the US. Over all, US Leaf sales are up 34.1 percent so far this year. In a prepared statement, Nissan's director of Leaf sales and infrastructure, Brendan Jones, said that the Leaf is selling well on both coasts, including cities like Raleigh, Boston and Washington, DC. "It's what we call the 'cul-de-sac phenomenon,' where once someone in a community buys a Leaf, then friends, family, co-workers and neighbors see the benefits of this fun-to-drive electric vehicle firsthand and are sold on the idea of going electric," he said. The Volt also had a good month - its best of 2014 by almost 500 sales – but the 2,511 Volt sales still represent a drop of 25.1 percent from the excellent sales the Volt had this time last year. In fact, August 2014 represents the Volt's best sales month since, well, August 2013. Apparently, there's just something about the end of summer. As always, we are working on our in-depth round-up of green car sales across the country and will have that up soon.
This is Nissan's 2014 Detroit Auto Show concept
Tue, 20 Aug 2013During a media event in Los Angeles today, Nissan flashed a few images of a new concept car that will be unveiled at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show in January. According to Shiro Nakamura, senior vice president and chief creative officer of design and brand management at Nissan, this unnamed concept has a "very strong design signature" and shows "[Nissan's] future design direction."
It's certainly quite sleek, this concept, yet specific elements like the front fascia and taillamps are evolutionary steps from what we're seeing on some of Nissan's newest products. Those rear lamps look like sleeker versions of what the Sentra wears, and that grille appears to be a more stylized version of what the next-generation Rogue has been seen sporting.
As for what, exactly, this concept previews, that's still up in the air, though our best guess is that it hints at a Maxima successor. After all, Nissan did confirm to us that a new Maxima is currently in development, and showing this concept in early 2014 lines up with our predictions that the next-generation sedan should arrive in time for the 2015 model year.
