Hey all, after 3+ years of fun, and a winter engine build and tranny refresh (new clutches), I just don’t have time for the car anymore and quite frankly I have achieved all my track goals and hence time to move on to a new hobby.  Priced for quick sale and comes with a TON of extras.  Just to be clear, I know I could make 15K+ more if I part out or swap engines or tranny’s etc, but just not interested.  I am looking for someone who is looking for a rock solid track car that can be daily driven and puts down 675hp to 700hp to the wheels (car was NOT never dyno-ed as I believe in real life tuning).  Full Flex fuel setup, freshly built engine and new clutch that handles like stock, billet baskets, the whole enchilada.  Plus comes with extra tires, fluids etc so all your consumables will be handled for a solid track season. PLEASE DON’T EMAIL ME FOR PART OUTS.  I will street drive until I sell.  As an aside I belong to a club that has 5 days left at Gingerman Raceway and 3 at Grattan (both in Western Michigan) this season and if you buy you can have my membership to that as well as it is already paid (private track days).

- have 5 r888 285’s the current 285/315 setup on the car has about 75% tread plus the 5 r888’s have 90% tread and were just heat cycled.  I stock up for track season and typically keep 1 front spare, hence the odd number
- Have most OEM parts that came from CAR (including Exhaust, downpipes, midpipe, intercooler, etc) DO NOT HAVE OEM WHEELS.

AGAIN NOT INTERESTED IN PARTING THESE OUT EITHER, JUST DON’T HAVE TIME

Now onto the Known issues basically 4:

1)   Tranny cooler is not cooling, I just put on a new SSP tranny oil pump ($400) and it works, sucks the oil but just doesn’t reduce the temps.  I farted around with it at a buddies, but I don’t swing a wrench and don’t really have a technician in my area.  I talked with Kris @ SSP and he thinks it is electrical but that needs to be sorted.  Runs but just not circulating the fluid.  Having said that OEM still works fine and Tranny fluid stays under 200 for street driving no problems
2)   I had a small amount of brake fluid drip on my roof when car was being transported, I didn’t want to dink around with the repaint, but most likely a $700-800 job to add color and blend clear coat
3)   Sorting alcon’s right now, appear to be rubbing the calipers slightly on top edge. Appears they sent the wrong spacers.  Sorting out with vendor right now and new spacers will be here this week.  New Owner can put them on (remember also comes with a set of j-hooks with plenty of life)
4)   When I had calipers repainted this winter, for whatever reason the silver brembo logo darkened in the front, ACG who finished them and installed the new RB equipment (stainless steel pistons and high temp boots) has agreed to repaint whenever, I just didn’t want to hassle.  I will make sure this offer extends to the new owner.

You are basically picking up a fully built engine, upgraded turbos and stage 3 tranny for the price of a low mileage 2010 bolt on, plus around $5-6K of parts and consumables.  Don't pass up this deal.  Check my feedback 100% since 1999!

In his own words: Carlos Ghosn on why EVs rule

Sat, Dec 13 2014

That's a nice little dig at hydrogen fuel cell technology, Mr. Ghosn. The Nissan chief, long a champion and heavy-duty investor of electric-vehicle technology, wrote an essay on his LinkedIn Influencer page on why EVs are the theoretical wave of the future. It's obviously not an unbiased opinion, but he makes his points clearly. Ghosn points out that "refueling" costs per mile for EVs are about 70 percent less than gasoline and more than 60 percent less than hybrids. He cites the rapidly growing network of plug-in vehicle charging stations that are eliminating "range anxiety" with at least some folks, and notes that the fastest growing US plug-in vehicle market is, of all places, Atlanta. Additionally, Ghosn, near the bottom of the post, says that a plug-in vehicle charging station can be deployed for as little as $2,000, while building a hydrogen station costs about $2.5 million. Pretty clever. Nissan's sales numbers appear to give Ghosn's confidence some clout. Through November, sales of the Leaf in the US surged 35 percent from a year earlier to more than 27,000 units. Globally, Nissan says the Leaf's sales are up 20 percent this year. Check out Ghosn's own words below. Zero-Emission Cars: Both Consumers and the Environment Win Last month, the Renault-Nissan Alliance sold its 200,000th zero-emission car. The Nissan LEAF, which we launched four years ago, is by far the top-selling electric vehicle worldwide. Sales are up 20 percent this year. Together with the Renault ZOE and other zero-emission vehicles in our lineup, Renault-Nissan's EVs have been driven about 4 billion kilometers – enough to circle the earth 100,000 times. They are the world's first and most successful mainstream, mass-marketed EVs. Why are more people switching to EVs? The reasons are clear: EVs are convenient: They can be refueled at home or at the office from multiple energy sources, including the increasing amount of clean energy from solar or wind power. Imagine never stopping at a gasoline service station because you wake up to a "full tank" every day. This is one of the top things EV owners enjoy about their cars. EVs are economical: Even with gasoline prices falling, Consumer Reports recently estimated operating costs of a Nissan LEAF in the United States at 3.5 cents a mile, compared with 11.9 cents for a subcompact gasoline car or 8.6 cents for a hybrid. EV owners typically save on their insurance policies, because insurers view EV drivers as a lower risk.

Nissan commits to adding 'iconic' design after Cube killed off

Fri, 25 Jul 2014

The Nissan Cube is on its way out here in the US and Canada. In a way, that's too bad, simply because the Cube's styling was nothing if not distinctive - much like the company's own Juke. However, the flame for uniquely styled models is indeed still burning over at Nissan.
We might never see an exact replacement for the Cube in the brand's lineup, but product planning boss Andy Palmer says that its retirement leaves a spot open in the Nissan lineup for something else. "To be clear, we will morph this space in our portfolio into something iconic," said Palmer to Automotive News. Unfortunately, he wouldn't hint at what that could mean.
However, his lack of suggestions makes it fun to speculate about what oddity could replace the Cube, especially since two of Nissan's more recent quirky concepts might have problems hitting the road. The Bladeglider is mired in Nissan and Deltawing Technologies' ongoing patent lawsuit. Alternatively, the retro-inspired IDx might be too expensive to build profitably. Still, this is the company that created both the (nearly dead) Murano CrossCabriolet and the very successful Juke; it can probably come up with something else delightfully weird.
