Roseland, New Jersey, United States
Up for auction is a beautiful 1998 Nissan Frontier! This truck has been THOROUGHLY maintained. Every blemish on this truck is minor and almost unnoticeable. Unfortunately, I need to buy a car for work and cannot hold onto this truck any longer. Throughout its life, it has been very well taken care of and drives extremely well. EVERYTHING works. Yes I repeat, everything. This truck is mechanically completely sound. Do not let the mileage scare you. (See details below)
This truck has tons of modifications both bought and custom. ALL MODS HAVE BEEN INSTALLED WITHIN THE PAST 5 YEARS! I bought this truck completely stock. Modifications and Condition: Engine: -2.4l 4 cylinder KA24DE -Pace setter header -Magnaflow cat -Magnaflow muffler -On 2.5" custom mandrel bent pipe. -K&N Air filter Runs smooth, idles fine, starts right up. Oil changed religiously every 3000 miles with 10w-30 and a quart of lucas oil. Has NEVER let me down. Plugs, wires, cap and rotor, belts, and pulleys have been changed within the past 3 years. Still in great shape. Passed NJ inspection. Valid through 2015. Transmission: -5 Speed Manual -REBUILT at ~208,000 (HAVE DOCUMENTATION TO PROVE) -Replaced clutch at rebuild Shifts like butter, no slipping, smooth and never a grind. Suspension: 3" Suspension Lift -Rear leaf pack -Swayaway torsion bars -Longer upper control arms -0.5" ball joint spacers on moog ball joints -Bilstein shocks all the way around -Idle arm brace Still has a lot of life left. Rides stiff, but to be expected. Suspension components have been broken in and adjusted properly since install. Has been greased regularly and does not moan or squeak. Steering: -Steering stabilizer -w/ Bilstein shock Drives straight on a flat road. Steers remarkably well and can cut all the way left or right with no rubbing. Body: -3" Body Lift -Trimmed plastic and rocker panels for no rubbing -Some body rust repair (minimal) -Brand new bull bar -Original Nissan Hood Bug Guard (Smoke) A few dings and scratches here and there. Nothing extreme. Paint has been waxed many times. Kept very clean. Some plastic has faded, and there is some rust on the passenger side quarter panel wheel well. Hard to really notice. Some rust on the rear tailgate but has been sanded and painted. Cracked windshield (see pics). Crack is not in sight of view and is hardly noticeable from the outside. Rocker panels and fenders are absolutely clear of and rust. Shines up nice. Wheels and Tires: -33x12.5r15 BFG Mud Terrain tires (PLENTY OF TREAD LIFE) -15x10 Rock Krawler D-Window rims w/center caps -ALSO INCLUDING spare set of 4 rims and tires. 30" General Grabbers on American Racing D-Window rims 15x8 Rotated every ~9000 miles. Still have about 3/4 life left. Rims have some surface rust but nothing major. Center caps still look decent. Drivetrain: -Custom One-Piece driveshaft (see pics) This eliminated the problems associated with the stock two-piece driveshaft with carrier bearing. One-piece included with sale. 4x4 works fine, 4-low and high engage smoothly. Stereo: -Sony Head Unit w/aux jack -Alpine speakers in doors -Stock tweeters -Amp wiring kit is there, truck is NOT being sold with subwoofers No blown speakers, all the button work. Wiring kit is ready for your subwoofers and box. Frame: -Sanded, prepped, and painted completely on back half. (see pics) -Rear tow point hook Minimal rust. Only surface. Very clean. Only area where some sanding and painting could be done is the lower radiator mount, but once again, nothing that has to be done tomorrow. This truck is begging for a new owner that can take care of it as well as it has been so far. Renault appoints Dacia Logan creator to head its Nano-rival program in India
Sat, 29 Dec 2012After watching the Tata Nano post sales numbers smaller than its engine displacement, Renault gave up on its much publicized intention to build a truly inexpensive car to rival it. Then, a month ago, reports emerged that Renault was resuming work on a couple of low-priced cars for emerging markets, but this time it would work with its in-house partner, Nissan. That plan envisions an offering for €3,000 ($3,888 US) and another for €5,000 ($6,400 US), both of which would be more spendy than the Nano but might avoid the charge of being cheap - and nasty - and instead be considered affordable.
A report in Reuters talks to the man in charge, Gerard Detourbet, who has been in Chennai, India since at least August working on the program. Detourbet led the Dacia Logan project and is considered "Renault's low-cost car specialist" and "the father of entry-car programs." This one is reportedly codenamed A-Entry and will create a "'sub-entry' architecture" that will provide roominess beyond the vehicle's price and class, and use an engine with a displacement of 800 cubic centimeters.
It isn't aimed at the Nano, though - it means to take on the products that make up 45-50 percent of India's car market, like the Maruti Suzuki Alto and Hyundai Eon. According to Reuters, out of the 2.6-million-strong Indian car market the Maruti Suzuki line-up alone nabs one million registrations annually. The Alto 800 begins at 244,000 rupees ($4,440 US), the Eon at 300,000 rupees ($5,559 US), the Chevrolet Spark at about 316,000 ($5,750 US); if Renault can nail its price targets it will just about bracket those three and be right in the game.
Nissan Juke facelift teased before Geneva
Tue, 25 Feb 2014Nissan's funky Juke mini-CUV is set to get a refresh at next week's Geneva Motor Show. If you're thinking that the Japanese automaker will take the opportunity to scale-back some of the crossover's polarizing exterior, think again: Nissan claims the new vehicle will feature an "even more striking design." And with stronger-than-expected sales worldwide for the model, we don't see the company's designers capitulating with a meek-faced mid-life update.
For now, the only look we have of this "striking design" is the teaser image shown up top (go ahead and click on it for a closer look). Nissan is also promising improvements in efficiency and refinement, although what that means for the Juke's fun-to-drive character is unclear.
Because we live in an age dominated by social media, the new Juke will perform a slow striptease on a variety of social networks, according to Nissan. It won't be a full reveal, but there should be some clues as to what the CUV's overall look will evolve into, before it's shown in all its glory in Geneva.
2014 Nissan 370Z Nismo
Tue, 22 Oct 2013Michigan is one of those places where we can sub-divide the seasons into good and bad portions, with each producing a noticeable shift. The week prior to my time in the 2014 Nissan 370Z Nismo, it was 65 to 70 degrees and sunny, all week long. Anyone care to guess what the following week was like?
Windy, cold and damp weather typified my week in the Z, with temps hovering around 55 degrees and several days of showers. Yes, I got the first week of the bad part of fall. The Z was hardly happy during its time with me, but we both persevered, and I made a point of sprinting out to the garage anytime the ground seemed remotely dry enough to test this striking two-seater. That enthusiasm waned quickly, though, as the week wore on.
By all accounts, the Z is a car that I should like. It's an uncompromising sports car, but as I discovered during my travels, sometimes a little compromise is welcome, and living with a car like the Z - particularly the angrier, Nismo-tuned model - quickly becomes a case of too much of a good thing.
