2002 Nissan Frontier Xe Extended Cab Pickup 2-door 2.4l on 2040-cars
Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, United States
Hello, Thanks for inquiring about my ad for the 2002 Nissan Frontier. The last thing I wanna do is scare anyone off, but I also don't want any issues after the sale. Almost everything I'm about to list has been like that since I bought it and the truck has run great and been dependable on long road trips. First a couple good things: It has a tow package. Tires with lots of tread life. A almost new battery. Full sized spare tire. Multi disc CD player. Great gas mileage. I've tracked it at or near 23 mpg highway. Now the bad: As you can see from the photo posted the rear sliding window was broken. I have a piece of hard clear plastic glued in with roofing cement in its place. One of the tires is missing the center cap cover ($14 new on ebay). There are a few dings in the windshield, none have cracked. There is your standard scratches to be expected of a car and a few extras on the edge of the truck bed. There is some rust on the undercarriage and one of the brachets for the exhaust pipe broke off. The engine compartment is pretty good except the belts tend to squeal when its humid or wet outside and sometimes the vehicle shifts hard in the lower gears when the engine is still cold. But it does fine once warm and in higher gears. The AC does not work. Don't know why. Tried a few tricks with no success. Inside the vehicle the interior is pretty good. The sun visor DS is torn up, there's a cigarette burn in the seat. Little scratches and stains. The only big problem inside is the gauge panel doesn't illuminate. All the gauges work, as do the warning lights. Just not the speedometer, fuel, and RPM Lights. Also the steering wheel is off center. Vehicle drives straight, just the wheel itself is off. Kelly Blue Book calls “Fair Condition” needing some repairs. With that description it says $4300 even when you say the vehicle doesn't have AC, which it does just needs repaired. Frankly I think this truck is closer to Good condition but am listing it less than KBB to make sure this is a good deal. Hope this list helps you decide if this is the car for you. Gonna be an as is sale since I'm not a dealer. On Nov-06-13 at 12:24:43 PST, seller added the following information:Forgot to mention the check engine light is on for the O2 sensor showing lower than expected o2 levels on the catylitic converter. It doesn't affect the drive etc, can still pass emmisions, but should be mentioned. |

Nissan recalls 640k crossovers for wiring issue, hood release
Wed, Jan 28 2015The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has announced two separate recalls affecting hundreds of thousands of Nissan crossovers. The larger of the two involves the electrical system in 2008-2013 model year Rogue CUVs. In affected vehicles, a mixture of moisture and salt seeping in through the carpet on the driver's side could cause the harness connector to short, potentially causing a fire. The issue involves Nissan Rogues manufactured between March 7, 2007, and November 26, 2013, as well as examples of the 2014 Rogue Select manufactured between September 23, 2013, and July 2, 2014. All told, that comes to an estimated 468,815 units in the United States alone. The second recall affects the relatively smaller quantity of 170,665 vehicles, made up of 2013-14 Nissan Pathfinder, 2014 Pathfinder Hybrid, 2013 Infiniti JX35, 2014 QX60 and 2014 QX60 Hybrid models. (The JX35 was recently relabeled as the QX60 under Infiniti's new nomenclature.) The issue affecting some of those vehicles revolves around a hood release cable that may not properly latch. Nissan is notifying owners of the affected units to bring their vehicles in to have the wiring checked and to replace the harness connector and seal in the former case, and to have the hood release mechanism modified in the latter. All told, an estimated 639,480 vehicles are being recalled as part of the two campaigns. RECALL Subject : Electrical Short Due to Water Seepage Report Receipt Date: JAN 26, 2015 NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V032000 Component(s): ELECTRICAL SYSTEM Manufacturer: Nissan North America, Inc. SUMMARY: Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain model year 2008-2013 Nissan Rogue vehicles manufactured March 7, 2007, to November 26, 2013, and 2014 Nissan Rogue Select vehicles manufactured September 23, 2013, to July 2, 2014. The affected vehicles may experience an electrical short in the harness connector due to a mixture of snow/water and salt seeping through the carpet on the driver side floor near the harness connector. CONSEQUENCE: An electrical short can cause a vehicle fire. REMEDY: Nissan will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the kick panel wiring harness connector and will if necessary install a new harness connector and waterproof seal, free of charge. The manufacturer has not yet provided a notification schedule. Owners may contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-647-7261.
Nissan GT-R convertible offered in three flavors from NCE
Fri, 28 Feb 2014Newport Convertible Engineering, the Southern California company that can't keep its top on, has revealed on its website that it is now producing three different droptop versions of the Nissan GT-R Convertible. It's just another page in its work with high-end offerings like the new Range Rover and the Jaguar XJ. NCE owner Al Zadeh tells Autoblog that the superfast speedster came about during a trip to Abu Dhabi, when clients of his that collectively owned ten GT-Rs said they wanted him to engineer a convertible. They didn't want to see pictures, though, "They wanted to touch it and see it," he said.
So he built a convertible with a traditional, unadorned soft tonneau cover (the white one in our gallery) and another with hard tonneau cover fitted with roll hoops and a low-rise dual cowl (the blue one). When the clients saw it, "They said they wanted something more glamorous," Zadeh said. So he came up with the black version above with a hard tonneau cover and can't-miss-it cowling that, frankly, looks pretty good to us in that color and with those wheels.
Clients satisfied, the order books have opened for other GT-R owners around the world. The most restrained version runs $29,500 to build, the other two retail for $49,000, and all of them require a donor GT-R and eight weeks to finish. With facilities in SoCal, Europe and the Middle East, you won't even have to send your Godzilla too far away if this is the look you've decided it just has to have.
Meet Sparky, Nissan's Leaf-based, Frontier-bedded EV parts hauler [w/video]
Thu, 18 Sep 2014For many enthusiasts, the concept of the ute - a car with a pickup bed - is somehow irresistibly appealing. On paper, it promises the marriage of a truck's utility and a car's superior driving dynamics, and for that reason alone, we'd love to see more of them. Yet while other parts of the world get them in good numbers, North America doesn't ever see them - at least not for long. Based on what we've seen of late, though, that's not due to a lack of motivation on the part of engineers.
BMW wowed us several years ago with an M3 ute, and earlier this year, some interns converted a Mini Paceman into the pickup-bodied Paceman Adventure. Loathe to let their rivals in Munich and Oxford have all the fun, Nissan has built its very own car-based pickup. Meet Sparky, the world's first Leaf Frontier.
Like the M3, this all-electric ute is used as a parts hauler for Nissan's engineering teams at its sprawling Stanfield, AZ tech center and proving grounds.
