2006 Nissan Altima S - Reliable, One Owner, Very Low Reserve on 2040-cars
Garland, North Carolina, United States
This would be the perfect car for a college or high school
student, or for anyone who needs ultra-reliable transportation. It's a good
illustration of the fact that the 2006 is the only recent Altima recommended by
Consumer Reports. My wife and I bought this car new in Sept. 2006 and are the
only owners. My wife drove it until a couple of months ago, when I bought her a
Buick because she wanted something soft and comfortable (we are in our
mid-60s). The car has been extremely reliable, with no breakdowns or mechanical
problems. All systems and accessories are in perfect working order (power
steering, brakes, windows, door locks, driver’s seat, mirrors, ice-cold A/C,
etc). It has a tilt steering wheel, cruise control, and AM/FM/CD stereo. I am
driving it to work occasionally now, so the mileage will change slightly. I
just decided to sell it because we have five vehicles at home (for two drivers)
and I prefer to drive my ‘92 Mercedes or my ‘77 Fiat Spider. All our children
and grandchildren of driving age already have good vehicles. The car was in a minor accident about five years ago, when
an oncoming driver came across the center line and my wife had to decide
instantly to either hit him head-on or go into the ditch – thankfully, she
chose the ditch. It was completely repaired with all-new parts, and there has
been no problem of any kind with it since. The car has a few normal little “booboos”
such as small scratches, parking lot bumps, stains, etc. The most
noticeable thing is the clear coating, which was scratched up when our
granddaughter decided to surprise us by washing and cleaning the car and used a
scouring pad to get pine tar off the hood and back deck. The left front fender
has a very small crease in it, and the back right door is about 1/8 inch out of
alignment from the time I started to back out of the carport without noticing
that door was still open (no air or water leaks – it is completely sealed and
you have to be looking for it to notice it). The car looks great from 15-20
feet, and only shows these things from up close. Check the photos carefully and
you’ll see what I mean. This car has been meticulously maintained, and I have all
service records for everything that has ever been done. I have the original
window sticker and paperwork. All of this is in a file which will go to the new
owner if you want it. I don’t know of anything the car needs now, or will need
in the future except normal maintenance. I think I have covered all the relevant information about
the car; if there are any further questions, feel free to contact me. I have total confidence in this vehicle, and would drive it anywhere,
anytime. In fact, if it doesn’t sell for some reason, we will drive it from NC
to Arkansas for a family reunion in July. There's no reason it won't go another
160K miles. Please look at my feedback and bid with confidence. I will let the
bidding begin at $500, and I set a very reasonable reserve of $3000. I’m not
interested in taking any less; it’s worth that much to me as a spare. Kelly
Blue Book (kbb.com) prices it for a private sale at $3900 in fair condition and
$4600 in good condition. NADA guides show an average trade-in of $3400 and a
retail of $6450. Both of those take into account the existing mileage, of
course. Good luck and happy bidding! Winning bidder must send $500
via PayPal within 24 hours, with the balance due in cash and the car picked up
within 7 days. Thanks! |

2014 Nissan Dayz Roox is the littlest high-roof van you ever did see
Fri, 22 Nov 2013Even average production cars from Japan often seem very conceptual to US eyes. Throw in typical, nonsensical-quasi-English-words name like "Dayz Roox" and you'd be forgiven for thinking this Nissan box on wheels was still a designer's dream. But the fact is that the Nissan Dayz is a model currently on sale, and this Roox version is the latest take on the micro-van, which is a popular segment in Japan.
In fact, this generation of Dayz is the first minicar that Nissan has developed completely in-house, and the thing has been selling astoundingly well in its first stint on the market (30k units in month one month, says Nissan). So it's unsurprising that the company is looking to expand the range with a model that is more fully featured.
The Roox (we have no clue as to where that name came from, or what it means) would appear to be a high-roof version of the three-cylinder Dayz minicar - in fact Nissan goes so far as to call it an "Impressive Super Height Wagon." Features like automatic sliding doors, Around View Monitor and UV-insulated glass are all luxuries in kei-class car. The press release also specifies that the Roox is tall enough to swallow a 27-inch bicycle.

Sunday Drive: Big debuts from the Big Apple dominated the headlines
Sun, Apr 1 2018New York Auto Show week has come and gone, and, not surprisingly, the week's biggest bits of news came from the halls of the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in NYC. Our favorite debut from New York was the Lincoln Aviator, a sharp-dresses crossover that looks lovely inside and out, and sits on underpinnings at least partly derived from the Ford Mustang. While the Aviator may have caught our attention, it wasn't the most popular vehicle debut from New York, at least when judging by the number of page views here on Autoblog. That distinction goes to the 2019 Toyota RAV4, and we're hardly surprised. The RAV4 is the most popular compact crossover in America (in fact it's the most popular vehicle that isn't a pickup truck), and the 2019 version looks like a radical departure from the model that came before. We can't wait to drive the thing. Midsize sedans may not be the darling of the family car set, that honor taken over by the aforementioned crossover, but they still sell in large enough numbers that a brand-new model catches our attention. Such is the case with the 2019 Nissan Altima. We broke down the specs of the Altima and compared Nissan's bread-and-butter sedan with its biggest rivals. And finally, we got some official figures for the 2019 Ford Mustang Bullitt. It'll cost a cool $12,000 over the cost of a Mustang GT, and will benefit from a 480-horsepower, 420-pound-foot version of Ford's excellent 5.0-liter V8 engine. As always, stay tuned this week for all the latest automotive news that's fit to print. 2018 New York Auto Show Mega Photo Gallery | Start spreading the news 2019 Toyota RAV4 actually looks pretty cool 2019 Nissan Altima vs Honda Accord vs Toyota Camry: How they compare 2019 Mustang Bullitt orders open as Ford reveals price and horsepower Image Credit: Drew Angerer/Getty New York Auto Show Ford Lincoln Nissan Toyota Coupe Crossover SUV Sedan 2018 new york auto show
