Reason for selling:
Shes my baby, and I'm sad to let her go, but I need to free up some funds.
Exterior:
The body and paint are flawless except for the below mention items. Its a pearl white paint job which has a special glimmer that you cant catch with a camera, because of this a lot of 370Z owners who got a different color wish they had gotten the pearl white. If you don't believe me, check the forums! This car gets all kinds of attention, I get stopped at gas stations, parking lots, and red lights by people who compliment and want to talk about her. And did I mention chick-magnet!? Expect winks, waves, and conversations regularly.
Interior:
Complimenting the exterior is an orange interior, which is a rare color combination. The interior gets a lot of love for the orange suede and leather seats. It looks much more luxurious than the black or white seats. It has a Bose sound system with 6-CD changer and a subwoofer above the spare. Sound quality is good and it BUMPS.
Mechanically:
She is sound. Has 57,600 miles, drives perfect, no issues whatsoever. Absolute blast to drive! Very smooth torque curve, loads of power, brakes are strong, suspension is tight. It also has a throttle-blipping/rev-matching "Syncro-rev" manual 6-sp transmission, first of its kind as far as I know. Makes shifts very smooth, even if you're not that good with a manual. I've had maintenance done on it religiously and many miles before they were due. I have records if you would like proof. I also just put new Michelin Pilot Super Sport rubber on the wheels ($1400), much better tire than stock. It has never been raced, and most of the time when its parked, its in a garage.
Extras:
I've added a Escort Passport 9500ci Radar detector and laser jamming system ($2500 installed). I had it fully integrated so its visually and electronically undetectable to the 5-0. The display is hidden in the mirror and can only be seen when on, otherwise the mirror is blank. The controller is mounted on the right side of the steering wheel out of view. In the grill and above the rear license plate are the laser jammers and are very difficult to notice. It also has a GPS database of speed cameras, red light cameras, and speed traps that warns you before you approach them. This system has saved me from NUMEROUS speeding tickets.
Issues:
- Rear left fender (I assume, never saw it happen) got tapped by a car trying to parallel park behind it. Some paint was lifted off, but there are no dents. Got a quote to get it fixed and I think it was around $300?
- 2 of the rims have a bit a road rash
- Very small chips on the bumper from road debris
- Floor mats probably need replacing.
I have more detailed high resolution pictures that I can show. Any questions, just ask!

Japanese automakers kick in $800k for new charging-station company
Mon, Jun 2 2014Cynics may say that gathering $800,000 (total) from four of Japan's largest automakers is merely a rounding error. Still, Toyota, Nissan, Honda and Mitsubishi, along with the Development Bank of Japan, are putting those funds to good use. So, that's something. Last week, those five entities officially founded Nippon Charge Service LLC. The company was established to promote plug-in vehicle charging installations across Japan and the automakers seeded it with 80 million yen, or about $786,000 US. Those funds will be used to help business owners deploy charging stations at convenience stores, highway-side locales and other locations that will make it easier for plug-in vehicle drivers (of Toyotas, Hondas, Mitsubishis and Nissans, obviously) to get their juice. The automakers first announced they'd collaborate last year, when they said they'd work with the Japanese government to more than triple the country's publicly accessible chargers to about 17,000 units. No targets were disclosed as far as how many charging stations would be deployed this time out, but, in a move similar to the EZ Charge system in the US, Nippon Charge Service will also have universally-accepted charging cards available by the end of the year to drivers all of those brands' plug-in vehicles to make the charging process a little more seamless. Check out Honda's press release below. Japan Automakers Advance Electric Charging Infrastructure with New Company, Nippon Charge Service -Established to help build charging infrastructure for electric-powered vehicles (PHVs, PHEVs and EVs)- Toyota Motor Corporation Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. Honda Motor Co., Ltd. Mitsubishi Motors Corporation Development Bank of Japan Inc. TOKYO, Japan, May 30, 2014 - Toyota Motor Corporation, Nissan Motor Co., Ltd., Honda Motor Co., Ltd., and Mitsubishi Motors Corporation jointly established a new company, Nippon Charge Service, LLC, on May 26 to promote the installation of chargers for electric-powered vehicles (PHVs, PHEVs, EVs). The goal is to help build a charging network that offers more convenience to drivers in Japan. The new company will promote the installation of chargers, for the good of society and to expand the use of electric-powered vehicles. Related industries are also expected to benefit. Nissan Leaf battery cells put through torture test, live to charge again
Sun, Mar 2 2014One minor chink in the armor of the Tesla Model S is that a small number have caught fire, once their battery packs were penetrated. Nissan Leaf drivers, however, might just be able to weather such an event without an ensuing CarBQ. Our evidence for such a claim? A video that has surfaced of cells from a Leaf pack undergoing a battery of torture tests (pun somewhat-ashamedly intended). Shared by folks at the Hybrid Auto Center in Las Vegas – who offer for sale, among other things, used Leaf lithium battery modules – the footage shows salvaged cells being brutally assaulted with a screwdriver, and later, a propane torch. Granted, these tests are not the same thing as flinging a piece of metal into a working pack at 70 miles per hour, but they do claim to show that a puncture does not always equal a fire. Oh, and don't try this at home. When pierced through by the flat head tool, there is no explosion or eruption of flame. Instead, a rather modest wisp of smoke shyly emerges as the electrolyte next to the shorted area of the fully-charged foil pouch reacts with the influx of oxygen. Again and again, the blade descends, until the cell is riddled with holes. No fire. Amazingly, when connected with a voltmeter afterward there are still plenty of signs of life, and when it is charged and discharged (off-camera), it reportedly suffers only a slight loss of charge capacity. The video goes on to show another cell attacked with open flame with similar results. While the demonstration is, perhaps, somewhat crude, the message it sends is loud and clear: lithium batteries can be safe and rather robust, despite some freak accidents. Datsun to unveil second model later this month
Sun, 08 Sep 2013Datsun, Nissan's new sub-brand for emerging markets, has announced plans to unveil its second model. Its first, the Go, was unveiled almost two months ago, and promised affordable, connected motoring for five in a handsome hatchback body. Datsun is following that up with a pair of new models for Indonesia.
The first of these two new vehicles will be shown on September 17 in Jakarta, eschewing the typical auto show debut. It's targeted at so-called "risers," the nickname for a group of highly aspirational customers in the Indonesian market. Datsun developed it locally with help from Nissan, and it'll cost under 100 million Indonesian rupiah (about $8,900 at today's rates).
We'll have the full boatload of information on the newest member of the Datsun family when it debuts on September 17. Scroll on to read the full press release from Datsun.
