Fine 2004 Nissan 350z Touring, Low 25k Miles, Excellent Accident Free Original! on 2040-cars
Charleston, West Virginia, United States
Listing a beautifully seductive 2004 Nissan 350Z Touring (V-6, 6-speed manual) in “Redline” red with very low original miles. Garage kept and accident free with only two adult owners, both of whom maintained it properly and carefully, never abused. At just under 25,000 miles and up to date on service, it is ready for its next owner to enjoy. It is all original except for the upgraded post factory production genuine Nissan accessory chrome alloy wheels (18”: sporting matched Bridgestone Potenza 245/45R18s, just rotated with @ 1/3 to 1/2 tread left) and upgraded exhaust (do not know brand, it is sweetly tuned (not some loud burner set-up)). The clutch was replaced recently with genuine Nissan parts to restore perfect crispness to the feel. An XM system has also been added while retaining original factory premium stereo system. Also, a stainless lower front bumper grill insert is installed and can be easily removed should you wish. A rare accident free and unmolested original. Those familiar know this is a vehicle loaded with options, and a scan of the option list from the second owner’s purchase is shown for full details. Mechanically this car is excellent, and cosmetically very fine, especially for being a 2004 model. I looked over the car carefully and here is an objective review of the cosmetics as I went around the car (PLEASENOTE: I am very picky about details and don't want the buyer to be surprised by anything): front bumper has the expected routine bug and rock dings to the smoothness of paint (no loss) as well as some scuffs/scrape to the very lower right corner as well as to a small area very low right just before wheel, about a dozen little rock chips to hood, 3 rock chips to the left front fender, 1 rock chip on left rear fender, 1 rock chip to right front fender as well as a minor door ding, 1 rock chip to right rear fender, right door has 3 minor door dings. Paint is excellent all around, with all described rock chips being minor easy touch-ups if desired. The mirrors are body colored injection molded plastic with some fade (can be treated). The rims have a few scuffs, but no significant curb rash. The interior is spotless with factory upgraded (“Z”) mats in place (including one covering the trunk floor), although the driver seat bottom shows slight wear to the dye in a small area, and the silver decorative cover (section with “Z”) in the trunk area over rear suspension/anti-sway bar is cracked (strictly cosmetic and easily replaced). Please review all the pictures to see just how fine this car is! I am listing this for a friend and you can trust me to be honest (see my feedback). Feel free to email any questions or to call me (Paul (304) 951-4739). I possibly can help with delivery if discussed. Buy-It-Now is also possible, just make an offer. A reasonable deposit is to be promptly made, balance due on pick-up (a local credit union holds the title, so this is not an issue). Car is located in Charleston, WV 25303. HAVE A GREAT DAY! |

Nissan GT-R Nismo 'Ring time makes it track's 'fastest volume production car' [w/video]
Tue, 19 Nov 2013Performance cars are fun to drive and all, but at the end of the day ,owners drop big bucks on what are often ridiculously unpractical vehicles for the bragging rights. And when it comes to ultimate bragging rights, few get more publicized than lap times for everyone's favorite stretch of German pavement, the Nürburgring. Enter the 2015 Nissan GT-R Nismo.
After rumors about a 7:08 lap time appeared yesterday, Nissan confirmed has confirmed the news today with video footage of the run, which took place on September 30. The official lap time is just seven minutes and 8.679 seconds, putting the GT-R Nismo about 11 seconds off the pace of the Porsche 918 Spyder - some six seconds quicker than the far costlier Lexus LFA. Some admitted - but hard-to-spot - missteps by Nissan driver Michael Krumm would indicate that the car actually left some time on the table.
With this time, Nissan claims that the 595-horsepower GT-R Nismo is the "fastest volume production car" around the track. The definition of "volume" could surely be contested here, though, considering the small numbers in which the GT-R is sold. While we don't have global GT-R sales figures, this year has only seen 1,063 units sold through October, and there were close to 1,300 sold in all of 2011 and about 1,200 in 2012. While this loosely defined claim will only add to the Nürburgring lap time squabbling, it is no less impressive. Check out the record run for yourself in the video below, which is accompanied by an official press release.
Automakers' sound systems: Crank it, don't yank it
Thu, Jun 21 2018Years ago, one of the first things most music lovers did after buying a new vehicle was drive to an aftermarket stereo shop to get the crappy stock components swapped for better gear. And you'd typically get not only better sound but also more bang (and boom) for your buck. But in the past decade or so, the overall quality of OEM audio has dramatically increased, while car electronics became more complex, removing the incentive for most new vehicle owners — and all but the most hardcore DIYer — to start from scratch. In 2010, I did a comparison of the average costs for OEM electronics vs. similar offerings from the aftermarket, and back then automakers' stock premium systems were by far the best bargain — and are probably an even better value now. The premium 14-speaker, 1,200-watt JBL system in the all-new 2019 Toyota Avalon is a prime example of this trend. It's standard on the top two Limited and Touring trims and is available as a $680 audio upgrade on the XLE and XSE. I doubt you can even buy 14 speakers and 1,200 watts of amplification from the aftermarket for 700 bucks, much less have it all installed. And because the system is bundled with Toyota's Entune infotainment system, Apple CarPlay and a surround-view camera, removing the head unit means you would likely lose these features. Another advantage of OEMs and their audio partners is they can design the car around the audio system. In the past, automakers would typically place speakers where convenient for packaging, not for optimal sound reproduction, and audio engineers were forced to compromise. But as with the Avalon's premium JBL audio system, this is starting to change. At a recent behind-the-scenes peek for media into the process of developing the system, Toyota and Harman engineers delved into the minutia of sealing the inner panel of the front doors to create an enclosure for 6x8-inch woofers, making space in the pillars for JBL horn tweeters and extensively measuring the acoustic properties of the interior to tune the sound to the space. I'm met some creative and skilled car stereo installers, but none with a degree in psychoacoustics. The system is also the first to feature Quantum Logic Surround that creates a multi-channel listening experience from two-channel sources. And it includes Harman's Clari-Fi processing that "rebuilds key details lost" in compressed audio formats used by streaming music services and MP3s.
2014 Nissan 370Z pricing announced, MSRP reduced by $3,000
Fri, 26 Jul 2013Nissan is up to something. The company announced pricing for the 2014 Nissan 370Z, 370Z Nismo, and 370Z Roadster, which isn't out of the ordinary. What is, is that the standard, hardtop 370Z has received a $3,130 reduction in price for 2014. The upmarket Touring model, meanwhile, has been dropped $2,550.
That means, excluding the $790 for destination and handling, a base, six-speed manual 370Z is only $29,990. That is an excellent deal. Adding an automatic will bump the price to $31,290, while the Touring model starts at $35,270 for DIY shifters and $36,570 for autos. The top-of-the-range Nismo runs $43,020. The Roadster, meanwhile, starts at $41,470.
So what does this mean in the grand scheme? Automakers don't just slash $3,000 off the price of a desirable sportscar because they're feeling generous.Could this be a move to clear out stock before a replacement to the current Z arrives?
