2006 Nissan 350z Grand Touring Coupe 2-door 3.5l on 2040-cars
Surprise, Arizona, United States
Brembo Brakes (Replaced pads and rotors 2000 miles ago by Midway Nissan)
Bose 7 Speaker Audio System DVD Navigation Cruise Control Air Conditioning Leather Interior with Power 6-Way Heated Seats Manual Transmission (6 Speed) Staggered Rays Engineering 5 Spoke wheels (18" in front, 19" in rear) from the factory Limited Edition Interlagos Fire (5000 production limit, special order only) HID Headlights LED Tail Lights Limited Slip and TCS (Electronic Traction Control, has an "off" button) Side Impact Air Bags You name it, it has the best of the best from the factory. This car has not been modified, at all. It is a California car, originally. I am the 2nd owner. It has just under 50,000 miles on it, which means I have just under 200 miles left under warranty (extended warranty). My covers pretty much everything including electronics, so everything is in tip top shape. I plan on having Midway Nissan check it out before selling, just to make sure everything is in tip top shape before the warranty (non-transferrable) runs out. KBB lists the car at $21,000 without the Interlagos Fire color. It took me over 8 months to find it, and now I need to get rid of it. What it needs: 1) Tires (Knowing I was going to sell it, I didn't replace the tires, since I'm picky about my tires and you should be too, and we all have our opinions). It still has the factory rubber on it. 2) A new owner. 3) A bath. |

NHTSA probing whether to call Nissan to the carpet over Versa unintended acceleration
Mon, 30 Jun 2014The Nissan Versa and Versa Note may have a carpeting problem that could make the little cars risky to drive. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is launching a preliminary evaluation into the 2012-2014 model year versions of the Versa, Versa Sedan and Versa Note, affecting an estimated 360,000 vehicle. In these vehicles, it's possible that the driver's foot could be caught where the carpet meets a trim panel near the accelerator. The regulator has four reported instances of the issue, but it's still collecting data from Nissan about any further cases.
According to the complaints, the tunnel carpet cover trim panel can possibly snag the drivers' right shoe where it meets the carpet, and can either keep their foot on the accelerator or prevent moving it to the brake pedal. In one case, the problem was bad enough that the driver had to free his foot using his hand, while driving. In two of the four reported cases, the vehicles were rental cars.
This is actually the second ongoing preliminary evaluation for some of these models. In late May, NHTSA started looking into the 2013-2014 Versa and 2014 Versa Note for long brake pedal travel.
2013 Nissan Pathfinder: June 2013
Thu, 18 Jul 2013When we say that our long-term 2013 Nissan Pathfinder has been busy, we mean it. Want proof? In the past month, the big, brown Nissan was only idle enough for us to take it in for its 11,500-mile routine service and to shoot a couple of new photos of the long-termer in Detroit.
Most recently, the Pathfinder spent a few weeks in the hands of AOL Autos' executive editor Sharon Carty, who used the three-row CUV to haul her entire family from Detroit to New Jersey and back... twice. That's a pretty serious amount of miles, but it gave Sharon a really solid look into how the vehicle holds up for the needs of a family with kids of different ages.
NHTSA investigating 200,000 Sentra, Versa models over brakes
Tue, 27 May 2014The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has opened a second investigation into Nissan in May. The first covered inaccurate fuel gauges in the 2007 Quest minivan. The latest affects the Sentra and Versa from the 2013 and 2014 model years and the 2014 Versa Note, because of complaints of long brake pedal travel. If NHTSA finds a problem, it could affect an estimated 200,000 vehicles.
At the moment, this is still only a preliminary evaluation "to asses the scope, frequency and safety-related consequences of the alleged defect," according to the report, but it could lead to the full recall. NHTSA is still trying to find whether or not there are accidents, injuries or fatalities related to the problem. At this time, much of the data in the document is still marked Confidential or TBD. Nissan told Reuters in a statement that the company is working with the agency on the investigation and supplying the regulator with further information.
According to NHTSA, its Office of Defects Investigation has received eight complaints about long pedal travel in these models. They allege that the brake pedal goes all the way to the floor when pressed in some cases and doesn't sufficiently slow the vehicle. Autoblog has contacted Nissan for its reaction to the investigation. We will update this story when we receive a reply. Until then, scroll down to read the current investigation report.
