Super clean, all-original car. You will get compliments on this Z nearly every time you drive it. Car is currently in San Diego, CA, and will be in Sedona, AZ, after March 1. Buyer must pick up the vehicle or make delivery arrangements with the seller. No shipping. This car is easy to handle and shift. Super fun to drive. Low-mileage 2006 Nissan 350Z Roadster convertible is in the amazing Pikes Peak White Pearl color that always reflects the light in a unique way. The body is in excellent condition as the pictures show. Price includes installation of a brand new convertible top with glass window at my cost of $1,100. Buyer can select between a black top or blue top. Power top goes up or down automatically quickly at the push of a button and disappears when down. Excellent power from the manual 6-speed stick shift 3.5 liter V6 engine, which delivers 300HP but still gets 20.5 to 26 mpg. Never in an accident. Clean CarFax report. Clear title in hand for fast, easy transaction. At 53,305 miles, this car was sold as a Nissan Certified Pre-Owned Vehicle after being given a full Nissan overhaul service to qualify. Since then, it has only been driven by mature owners averaging just 4,000 miles a year. Slight negatives would be grey leather interior has some wear on driver's seat under where you sit; slight curb rubs on a few spots on alloy wheels; wear marks on armrests and interior fascia; and small curb rub marks on bottom front; same items you see with most of these Zs. Tires will need to be replaced in about 5,000 miles. Runs with the larger 245/45ZR18 tires in the back and 225/45ZR18s in the front. A new set of Kumho tires is about $650 installed. Has a superior quality Bose sound system with 6-CD changer in the dash. Power seats heated 2 ways, plus power door locks, windows & mirrors. Has 18-inch alloy wheels. Xenon HID super bright headlights. Fuel tank is 20 gallons. Great opportunity to get an unmodified Nissan 350Z Roadster in one of the most desirable colors with the stick shift, the only way to drive a sports car. Skip all the other Zs with owners like race car drivers, salvage titles and uncertain modifications. This one is all original. Fantastic value in this car for the money. Get the look and feel of a vintage Porsche with all of the amenities, comfort and MPGs of a modern car, plus the low maintenance costs and cheap insurance rating of a Nissan. This era 350Z is one of today's best sports car values.

Nissan ZEOD RC stretches its legs for the first time

Fri, 25 Oct 2013

Ever see one of those videos where a baby deer is born and immediately starts walking? Well, this isn't one of those. For starters, the Nissan ZEOD RC isn't exactly a newborn. Nissan took the design of the DeltaWing, gave it a hybrid engine and called it something new. And it hardly started galloping straight out the box, either: this was just a low-speed demonstration run, held at Fuji Speedway where it debuted this past weekend.
Still, seeing the car that's destined to take the first lap of Le Mans under electric power alone actually start up and run is something of a landmark in the development of electric racing cars - even if this is, despite Nissan's best efforts to avoid the term, a hybrid, not a pure EV. The name stands for Zero Emissions On Demand, not zero emissions all the time. But then ZEATT wouldn't make for a very good name anyway, would it? See for yourself in the video below.

2014 Nissan Leaf EVs recalled for missing welds

Mon, May 19 2014

The Nissan Leaf has been recalled before, for problems with the passenger-side airbags. Early models of the car has also had start-up issues, but those did not lead to a recall. Today, we're learning about another problem with the world's most popular electric vehicle. In April, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration issued a recall of a small number of 2014 model year Leaf EVs - just 211 units that were made between February 28 and March 12 of this year – and reminded the world about it this morning with a Tweet. The problem, NHTSA says, is that, "the front structural member assembly may be missing welds," and that means that the car's structural integrity could be compromised in a crash. You don't say. Starting in the middle of June, Nissan will look at the vehicles that could be missing welds and offer replacements for free. If you have a potentially affected vehicle, Nissan should be contacting you soon, or you can call the automaker at the number listed below. Report Receipt Date: APR 16, 2014 NHTSA Campaign Number: 14V192000 Component(s): Potential Number of Units Affected: 211 Manufacturer: Nissan North America, Inc. SUMMARY: Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain model year 2014 LEAF vehicles manufactured February 28, 2014, through March 12, 2014. The front structural member assembly may be missing welds, which could reduce the structural integrity of the vehicle if the vehicle is involved in a crash. As such, these vehicles fail to meet the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 208, "Occupant Crash Protection," and 305, "Electric-Powered Vehicles: Electrolyte Spillage and Electrical Shock Protection." CONSEQUENCE: Missing welds may effect the vehicle's integrity in the event of a crash, increasing the risk of injury to the vehicle's occupants. REMEDY: Nissan will notify owners, and dealers will inspect to see if any of the welds are missing. Any vehicle missing welds will be replaced, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin by mid-June 2014. Owners may contact Nissan at 1-800-647-7261. NOTES: Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.

Roller coaster or racecar, which pulls more Gs?

Tue, 15 Jul 2014

Looking for a thrill? You're not the only one. You'll find kindred spirits at airfields going up for a skydive, atop bridges and towers with bungees attached to their feet and standing in line for roller coasters at the local amusement park. But you'll also find them in the paddock at the racing circuit.
So what's the commonality? G-force. It's like gravity, only in each of these cases, it's experienced by human invention. But which activity subjects your body to the greatest amount of g-force? That's what Nissan set to find out.
Before putting them back in the cockpit, Nismo sent out two of its young hot-shoes - Jann Mardenborough and Mark Shulzhitskiy - to an amusement park in the UK with a camera and a g-force meter to find out if any of the coasters could produce as much lateral gravitational force as an LMP2 racing car. See what they found in the pair of videos, below.
