For auction is my 2005 Nissan 350z Touring Roadster with 52,100 miles as of the date this is being listed. The color is black with the factory option of burnt orange leather seats with black mesh inserts. I am the second owner of this vehicle and bought it from a Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Nissan dealer in early 2007 as a Nissan Certified Used Vehicle along with a 5 year bumper to bumper extended warranty (expired in November 2012). I live in Michigan now, and have a clear title and own the car outright.

At the time of my purchase, the Z had about 20,677 miles or so on the odometer. I have babied this car since the day I bought it, always keeping it in the garage and being sure to have the oil and filter changed every 3500-4000 miles either by the Nissan dealer or by me personally. I am now reluctantly selling it only because I am moving out of state soon and I have too many toys, so I have to downsize a bit.

I am very honest in my Ebay listings and below detail everything I know about the car during my ownership, and what I know of its history before I bought the car.

CONDITION
As the pictures show, the car is in excellent shape. The engine is perfect and completely stock except for a Jim Wolf Technology (JWT) conical air filter that adds a few more horses and gives the Z a great intake growl. This can easily be swapped back to stock in about 15 minutes. I have the OEM air box and filter which will be sold with the car.

Oil and filter changes were done by Nissan, or by me personally every 3500 to 4000 miles.

There are no mechanical or electrical issues with this car. Everything runs and works exactly as it should. The clutch and gear shifter is original and flawless, and I just added 4 new tires about 800 miles ago. Anything that went wrong with the car was immediately rectified under my extended warranty. In 2010 I had a new thermostat put in under warranty. Prior to that, I had a new clutch slave cylinder put in under warranty. That is about it for any mechanical items that required warranty work.

I installed a brand heavy duty battery about 4 months ago.

The paint and body is in great shape. I am meticulous about my cars and have had the entire front bumper professionally surfaced and painted in late 2012 due to some small rock chips on the paint from the highway, and that were bothering me. In 2011, someone in a parking lot scraped the rear bumper. I had the entire back bumper professionally repainted rather than live with the scrape.  Presently the only paint items existing are typical scratches from road use which any car with 50,000 miles will have. On the drivers side I had to due some very small touch ups due to three scratches from a parking lot likely. On the passenger side there is a very tiny ding that is barely noticeable unless you catch it in the right light and the right angle. It is really nothing more than most cars get in parking lots, which is likely what happened. On the front hood there are a few typical tiny rock chips from highway pebbles and such. Just what you would expect to see on a car with 50,000 miles or so. I tried to take pictures but could not get these things to show up in photos. That is it for any known paint and body items.

The convertible top is in excellent condition. It is not faded, and has no rips or tears. The rear glass window is perfect and the defogger works as it should. The power retractable top works perfectly as it should.

The car does not know what rust is. It also doesn't know what snow looks like.

Tires as stated are 4 brand new Kumho Ecsta ASX in the OEM sizes 225/45 18 (Fronts) and 245/45 18 (Rears). I had new front brakes put on the car about two years ago and there is plenty of pad left. The rears also have plenty of pad left. The rims are OEM 18". The fronts and one rear do have some very slight curb rash which is typical and not very noticeable unless you really look up close.

The interior trim, carpets and seats are all like new and in excellent shape, and the leather is great shape as well. No cracks or splits, etc. Power windows, locks and all other electrical functions perfectly as they should.

All in all, I can confidently and fairly rate this car as strongly between "very good" to "excellent" by Kelly Blue Book standards. In the interest of selling the car quickly, I have a starting bid (with no reserve) well below Blue Book private party sale value for that condition range of $19,458 to $19,908 which is what you can expect a dealer to ask for the same car.

VEHICLE HISTORY
As stated, I bought the car in early 2007 from a Nissan Dealer, and it was sold as a Nissan Certified Used Vehicle, passing Nissan's rigorous certification process and included a 5 year bumper to bumper warranty that just expired in November 2012.

The title is clear, and has never been a salvage title or such thing. I now own this car outright and hold the title as I paid off the loan recently.

There have been no traffic accidents while I owned the car other than minor and expected scrapes/dings from parking lots or rock chips from the highway (mentioned above), where I had both the front and rear bumper professional re-finished and repainted simply because these things bothered me from a cosmetic perspective.

I am aware only from Carfax that the prior owner in 2006 reported a minor accident of some sort in NY. Nissan has checked the car out from top to bottom and certified it when sold to me. Further, there is no indication of frame damage or anything else significant and I have had no issues in the 6 years I have owned this car. I suspect the 2006 damage was purely cosmetic, although I cannot tell from the carfax what was damaged, and I never have been able to tell by looking at the car since the paint and body is, and has always been in such great condition. That is the extent of my knowledge about the car's prior history and I mention this to try to be as honest as I can about my knowledge of the car.

SHIPPING AND PAYMENT
To protect everyone involved, I will not release the car or sign over the title until I receive full payment in the form of a cashier's or certified check from a bank and that check is cashed at the bank. I would like a $250 deposit from the winning bidder via paypal to be applied against the balance due on the car.

The winning bidder is responsible for shipping. I am willing to work with the buyer in order to deliver the car to a shipper, etc within a reasonable distance from my house.

Nissan ZEOD RC on track and from behind the wheel

Wed, 17 Sep 2014

The Nissan ZEOD RC hybrid racecar has had mixed success in its competition life. It was invented to do a completely electric, high-speed lap at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, which it was able to do in practice. However, when the big event actually came, the car lasted less than an hour before it had to bow out with transmission issues. Nissan hasn't completely given up on its experiment, though. The experience (and possibly some of the tech) is going to help with the GT-R LM racer next year, and now the ZEOD is getting its chance to see how it handles the Top Gear test track.
Unfortunately, it's not The Stig piloting the ZEOD; instead, the magazine's motoring editor Ollie Marriage is the lucky man for the job. The car's sharp shape seems to be a good metaphor for how it handles because it just seems to dart around the track. Its tiny, turbocharged 1.5-liter engine with 400 horsepower and two electric motors put out a claimed 750 horsepower, and that seems like plenty for the relatively short Top Gear course.
As usual of Top Gear, the cinematography here is fantastic, and a second video shows off a single lap of the course from around the car. It's amazing to watch, especially with its big screen constantly showing the camera view out of the rear. Scroll down to see both.

Nissan looking to expand UK plant to build Infiniti Q30

Thu, 22 Aug 2013

With the Infiniti Q30 concept heading to the Frankfurt Motor Show next month and a future premium compact model heading into production at Nissan's Sunderland UK assembly plant, just connecting the dots tells us this new small Infiniti is headed for UK production. Backing this up, Reuters is reporting that Nissan is looking to expand the Sunderland plant by 25,000 square feet, while Automotive News Europe takes it a step further by almost confirming that the Q30 will be built alongside the Nissan Qashqai and Note.
The reports say that Sunderland is already the UK's biggest automotive plant, but the expansion will make it even larger with production capacity expected to rise from the current 500,000 units built each year to more than 550,000. There is no indication if the expansion will bring more jobs to the plant, which already employs around 6,000 people.

Nissan testing experimental dealer with no desks or offices

Wed, 26 Mar 2014

Nissan thinks it has found a better way to sell cars, and it involves stripping showrooms of everything but the cars and sales team. The brand calls the experiment the Nissan New Retail Concept, and it might get tested in the US in a few years.
The concept is relatively simple. Showrooms ditch offices, reception counters, cubicles and desks. Instead salespeople walk around inside and outside the dealer with mobile devices to assist customers and even complete sales. Associates are trained to take immediate responsibility for each visitor they encounter. For example, if owners comes inside with a problem with their vehicle, the employee escorts them to the service department and introduces them.
A dealer in London has been testing the new layout for the last nine months, and so far it reports better customer satisfaction, loyalty and most importantly higher sales. Nissan next plans to launch test stores in Moscow and Stuttgart. Then it will broaden out to more of Western Europe and finally will be tested in the Japan, the US and the Middle East, according to Automotive News.
