2003 Nissan 350z Very Nice Car. Clean. on 2040-cars
Bakersfield, California, United States
I am listing this car for a close friend of mine. Life is about to change for him because he now has a child on the way. Gone will be the toys of his young adulthood. They will soon be replaced by the toys you step on in the middle of the night while making a bottle for baby. I have had the pleasure of performing almost all of of the needed items to maintain this lovely little car. Up until a year ago, I owned a successful automotive repair business. The car was under my care from about 2005 until I sold the business in 2012. It is currently being maintained by my former business partner (who now owns the business). The owner of this car has always insisted on using Mobile 1 synthetic oil. Oil changes were performed on time, every time. I can't recall any major repairs ever being needed. As a matter of fact, I am certain we ever only replaced a battery, brakes, hoses, bulbs and other wear items as needed. All of the major interval services have been performed including fuel induction services, etc. This car has had excellent care througout its life, and in return, it has given its owner a perfect service record. I have been assured that all systems are functioning perfectly, including the ice cold air conditioning. It has 2 brand new rear tires, and the fronts have plenty of tread life left for several thousand miles to come. The brakes are not even close to half of their service life. The only items worth mentioning are shocks for the rear hatch and the clutch pedal. The hatch shocks do not hold, and the clutch pedal creaks a bit while depressing the pedal. Aside from that, at 138k miles, this car looks and runs very sweetly. Shifting is smooth and deliberate. The ride is tight and crisp. We do encourage a test drive, or at least an inspection, as your expectations may differ from that of my description. This car is not perfect, but drives perfectly. No accident damage or poor workmanship. It is smogged and ready to go!! He has owned this car since nearly new, at 3,000 miles. Please email with any questions, or to set up an inspection. The car will be sold at a fair price. Make us a fair offer. We are happy to store the car for an agreed upon amount of time while transportation arrangements are made. The car must be paid for per the auction terms: Immediate deposit of $500 via PayPal due at the end of acuction. The remaining balance can be in cash, cashiers check or wire transfer witnin 5 days. Please allow 5-7 days for a cashiers check to clear my bank. The car will not leave until funds are verified. |

Nissan GT-R drag races Swiss fighter jet
Thu, 09 May 2013Proving that speed is fun in any language, Nissan's German arm recently pitted a GT-R up against an ex-Swiss Air Force fighter jet, called the Hawker Hunter. Now the idea of a car-versus-plane drag race is nothing new, but this is the first time we can recall a GT-R being involved.
While this Nissan video is almost a month old, we're pretty sure you won't be disappointed by the action, which shows the two high-speed machines racing along the two-kilometer runway. We don't want to ruin the suspense, so scroll down for the latest matchup of sports car versus fighter jet.
Nissan Leaf's lead over Renault Zoe narrows in Europe
Wed, Jul 20 2016The Nissan Leaf has seen its sales steadily decline in the US for a while now. Here, its been eclipsed by the second-generation Chevrolet Volt extended-range plug-in while people await the next-generation version of the all-electric Leaf. The EV may be starting to receive a similar response across the Pond. While the Leaf remains Europe's biggest-selling EV, that lead is eroding, as sales of the Renault Zoe are catching up, according to the European Alternative Fuels Observatory (EAFO). It's a good thing Nissan and Renault are sister companies. Through May, Nissan sold about 9,500 Leaf vehicles in Europe. The good news is that number is up 37 percent from a year earlier. There's disconcerting news, too, and that is that the Renault Zoe's sales have surged 60 percent this year to almost 9,400 units. So, for all we know, the Zoe may have caught up with the Leaf last month. Still, both models are outpacing demand for the Tesla Model S and Volkswagen e-Golf: the former's sales are little-changed this year, while the latter model's sales have dropped 34 percent. The BMW i3, Kia Soul EV, and Mercedes-Benz B250e all have had higher sales this year. As for plug-in hybrids, the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV has maintained its substantial European lead, almost doubling sales of the Volkswagen Golf GTE and totaling almost 9,400 units sold through May. Meanwhile, the new Volvo XC90 PHEV has leapfrogged models such as the Volkswagen Passat GTE, Mercedes-Benz C350e, and Audi A3 e-Tron into third place behind the Mitsubishi and VW. Here in the US, Nissan Leaf sales through June fell 41 percent from a year earlier to about 5,800 units, while Chevrolet Volt sales have surged 75 percent to 9,808 units. Nissan's Carlos Ghosn taps the brakes on autonomous car progress
Fri, 18 Jul 2014
"Self-driving cars remain a long way from commercial reality."
Nissan CEO Carlos Ghosn shocked the automotive industry last year when he announced that his company plans to offer consumers an autonomous car by 2020. The automaker even showed off its self-driving Leaf prototype as proof. He was bolder recently with the pronouncement that select markets could have them in 2018, if laws allowed. The boss' optimism appears to be waning, though, and he's now sounding a lot more conservative about the future. While driverless vehicles are still on the way, Ghosn is hedging his bets with a more gradual implementation of several systems.
