This vehicle was custom built, with an RB26 Engine Swap from the famed Nissan Skyline GTR. The engine originally came from a 1996 R33 GTR, so it has the extended crank to oil pump engagement resolving the issues that plagues early GTRs. The Good:
This car runs excellent, is an absolute pleasure to drive, turns heads everywhere it goes, and does everything well... acceleration, handling, braking. The combination of the Porsche brakes with the 295 front tires results in amazing stopping power. The lightly modded RB26 sounds amazing, revs with ease, and makes enough power to trap 123MPH in the 1/4 mile in a full weight Z. The car has always been garage kept and has been driven very little... only 3k miles since built 2 years ago. The entire car was built with comprehensive performance in mind, this car does everything well. Also, the chassis only has 36k miles on it!!! Yes, a true 36k! The car was originally owned by a Marine who gave his life in the first desert storm. The car sat in his parents garage for many years until being sold to a young man who got in over his head with a V8 swap. I purchased the car unfinished and abandoned the V8 for an RB26.

The Bad:
Not Much... the car had fading clearcoat, which is why it was wrapped. 3M 1080 is the cream of the crop in wraps, is very durable, and removes with ease leaving no residue if you decide to paint the car. There are a fair amount of small dings around the car, with only one dent in the drivers front fender. Lastly, the custom oil pan leaks a small amount. It is never enough to see the oil level go down, but it will leave 2 or three small drips in the driveway/garage. To resolve this, a summit engine diaper was installed. This is a requirement in many racing circles anyway, but in the interest of full disclosure I am leaving no stone unturned.

Why am I selling?
That is both easy and difficult. There are two major reasons. 1: I do not get to enjoy the car enough. With a very bust family and work schedule, there is little time for fun with this car. 2: We are looking to downsize and this means some toys must go. If I had it my way, I would never sell this car, but sometimes sacrifices need to be made.

If anyone is interested in speaking with me directly about this car, send me a message and I will provide my phone number. I built this car, and as such I can tell you every detail about it.

This is a NO RESERVE Auction. high bidder wins this car. NO INTERNATIONAL BIDDERS!!! Cash sale or bank to bank wire transfers ONLY. Do not bid if you do not have the money! I am NOT interested in trades!! I am NOT interested in waiting for you to get financing!! Deposit due immediately upon end of auction with full payment to be made within two weeks. I CAN DELIVER THIS CAR ANYWHERE in the continental US. I have a truck and a fully encloded car trailer and will deliver the car anywhere for a fee.

Sunday Drive: Big debuts from the Big Apple dominated the headlines

Sun, Apr 1 2018

New York Auto Show week has come and gone, and, not surprisingly, the week's biggest bits of news came from the halls of the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in NYC. Our favorite debut from New York was the Lincoln Aviator, a sharp-dresses crossover that looks lovely inside and out, and sits on underpinnings at least partly derived from the Ford Mustang. While the Aviator may have caught our attention, it wasn't the most popular vehicle debut from New York, at least when judging by the number of page views here on Autoblog. That distinction goes to the 2019 Toyota RAV4, and we're hardly surprised. The RAV4 is the most popular compact crossover in America (in fact it's the most popular vehicle that isn't a pickup truck), and the 2019 version looks like a radical departure from the model that came before. We can't wait to drive the thing. Midsize sedans may not be the darling of the family car set, that honor taken over by the aforementioned crossover, but they still sell in large enough numbers that a brand-new model catches our attention. Such is the case with the 2019 Nissan Altima. We broke down the specs of the Altima and compared Nissan's bread-and-butter sedan with its biggest rivals. And finally, we got some official figures for the 2019 Ford Mustang Bullitt. It'll cost a cool $12,000 over the cost of a Mustang GT, and will benefit from a 480-horsepower, 420-pound-foot version of Ford's excellent 5.0-liter V8 engine. As always, stay tuned this week for all the latest automotive news that's fit to print. 2018 New York Auto Show Mega Photo Gallery | Start spreading the news 2019 Toyota RAV4 actually looks pretty cool 2019 Nissan Altima vs Honda Accord vs Toyota Camry: How they compare 2019 Mustang Bullitt orders open as Ford reveals price and horsepower Image Credit: Drew Angerer/Getty New York Auto Show Ford Lincoln Nissan Toyota Coupe Crossover SUV Sedan 2018 new york auto show

Nissan could have bought a stake in Aston Martin as early as 2012

Mon, 08 Sep 2014

Aston Martin has a very interesting future ahead of it. While the British brand appeared to be struggling with aging tech for a while, fresh investment from Daimler may have shown a light toward the future with the brand getting engines and electronics from them. Also, former Renault-Nissan top exec Andy Palmer has jumped ship from the French/Japanese automaker to become CEO of the much smaller sports car company. Interestingly, though, new reports from unnamed Nissan sources have indicated that Palmer has been pushing to work with AM for years.
Three unnamed company insiders told Reuters that Palmer made attempts to convince Renault-Nissan CEO Carlos Ghosn in 2012 and 2013 to invest in Aston Martin, but his proposals were shot down both times for unspecified reasons, according to Automotive News. "We looked carefully at the proposal but we passed on it," said one of the sources.
You can easily see why Palmer was eying Aston Martin even back in 2012. It's no secret that the British sports car mavens were in need of extra funding, well before the Daimler investment. Building vehicles these days is only getting more expensive with stronger safety and emissions requirements. Just look at the brand's desperate hope to get a side-impact crash exemption to keep selling its models in the US as an example.

Nissan Titan Wounded Warrior project lands in time for Veteran's Day

Tue, 11 Nov 2014

We last featured the crowdsourced Project Titan pickup back in September, back when Nissan revealed that its big, bruising custom pickup would take to the wilds of Alaska with a pair of veterans from the Wounded Warrior Project at the wheel.
Now, their journey across the wilds has been fully revealed as part of a 22-minute short film. David Guzman and Kevin McMahon are the pilots of the brutish truck, and while the film is ostensibly focused on the journey and the challenges that come with it, the release of the video on Veterans Day (Remembrance Day or Armistice Day, depending on where you're from), gives some indication to the dominant theme of the story - recovery.
The two travel across Alaska in the Titan on different missions, working with both veterans and civilians afflicted with post-traumatic stress disorder, as well as supporters of the Wounded Warrior Project. From the avalanche-surviving photographer who's suffering from PTSD to an Air Force veteran who routinely takes recovering vets on fishing trips, the pair experience the many efforts at recovery and support throughout the course of the missions and their journey.
