-The Good This is a beautiful looking 1994 Nissan 300ZX with 180,000 original miles. This car has been garaged kept as evident by the pictures (no cracks on dash and all rubber/vinyl in excellent condition). This 300ZX is equipped with an automatic transmission, T-Tops, and leather interior. The car runs and drives very well. The 3.0L V6 engine runs very strong and smooth and the transmission shifts good. The tires are still like new. The brake pads are all in excellent condition as well. The suspension and steering is tight. The burgundy exterior of this 300ZX is glossy and brilliant over the entire body. There isn’t any rust on the body or on the lower rocker panels. Both of the bumpers are in excellent condition. The body is very straight and clean. The interior of this Nissan has been well maintained and is in great condition. The seats and carpeting are very fresh and clean with only minor wear. There aren’t any holes in any of the seats or front carpeting. The rear cargo area is in great shape. As I am not the original owner and do not smoke, there aren’t any smoke odors or burn marks inside this Nissan. The title is clean and clear without any liens or encumbrances. This is an excellent running 300ZX that should provide great service for many years to come. I commuted 150 miles a day for the last few months. No problems! Everything works including electric seats, windows, cruise control, and automatic climate control The Bad There is an oil leak which appears to be coming from the top of the engine.....although not a mechanic, it looks like a gasket. Not a major leak, several drops each time I drive it on my drip catch pan. Once in a while the check engine light comes on for a few minutes. Sometimes I go weeks without it on, then it comes on for a little while. Next time its off for weeks. There is a small rip (on the seam) of the passenger seat.......shown in the pictures. There is a small rip on the drivers door.....shown in the pictures. Air conditioner comes on, but is only cool.....needs recharging. I do not have the T-top carry bags but both T-Tops have factory sun shade. The rear spoiler has paint bubbles.......shown on pictures I have this vehicle advertised locally and reserve the right to remove listing should vehicle sell prior to auction end. Meet the Nissan GT-R test driver responsible for 'Ring tuning
Wed, 07 May 2014Ever wonder what it's like to be a manufacturer's development driver at the Nürburgring? We imagine it's pretty cool. After all, you get to spend your days zooming about the greatest racetrack on the planet in a vehicle that is usually months or more away from consumers. For Hiroyoshi Kato, whose actual title is Technical Meister, life is even better than your typical development driver, because he spends his days wringing out the Nissan GT-R Nismo around the Green Hell.
Kato-san has a long history with both Nissan and the Ring. He had a major hand in the development of the R32, R33 and R34 Skyline GT-Rs, having first come to the Ring nearly three decades ago.
His experience with the Nismo, though, is different than the other vehicles he's contributed to. As he explains it, there are real racers on hand to test the car on the track, like Formula One reserve driver Sébastien Buemi. Instead, Kato focuses on the track-to-road balance. Still, he has some truly interesting insights on the car and the track, including his surprise at turning a sub-eight-minute lap in his first outing. That, along with a few other things (one of which is an R34 being hustled about), make this a must-watch video from Nissan.
Nissan commits to adding 'iconic' design after Cube killed off
Fri, 25 Jul 2014The Nissan Cube is on its way out here in the US and Canada. In a way, that's too bad, simply because the Cube's styling was nothing if not distinctive - much like the company's own Juke. However, the flame for uniquely styled models is indeed still burning over at Nissan.
We might never see an exact replacement for the Cube in the brand's lineup, but product planning boss Andy Palmer says that its retirement leaves a spot open in the Nissan lineup for something else. "To be clear, we will morph this space in our portfolio into something iconic," said Palmer to Automotive News. Unfortunately, he wouldn't hint at what that could mean.
However, his lack of suggestions makes it fun to speculate about what oddity could replace the Cube, especially since two of Nissan's more recent quirky concepts might have problems hitting the road. The Bladeglider is mired in Nissan and Deltawing Technologies' ongoing patent lawsuit. Alternatively, the retro-inspired IDx might be too expensive to build profitably. Still, this is the company that created both the (nearly dead) Murano CrossCabriolet and the very successful Juke; it can probably come up with something else delightfully weird.
