***Update: Sorry if I don't answer your emails directly but I've been getting a lot of the same questions asked. It's easier to just make updates on the listing. *** I've been asked a few times on the streetability of this car. It drives like a bone stock car around town. It has cold A/C and a comfortable suspension. The only time you will notice the upgrades is when you floor the gas over 4000rpms or dive into a sharp turn at 50mph. It idles great with dual MAF's and 850cc injectors. This car is fully tuned. Drive it daily or take it to the track. I bought this car a little over a year ago. After $35,000 in parts I have built it into a serious performance machine. It dyno'd at 521rwhp on a Dynocom. They read about 6% low to a Dynojet which would be about 554rwhp. So The car has between 611 and 650hp at the crank. The dyno pulls were done on 93 octane with 21psi of boost. The new GTX2867 turbos from Garret are amazingly efficient. On race fuel this car could go to 800hp. I have over $35,000 invested in parts alone. Save thousands of dollars by buying a fully finished and sorted out car. I finished the car just a few months ago. I have went to two autocross events this summer and the handling is superb. The power in this car is crazy though. It's really more suited for big tracks like HPDE events. If you push the pedal to the floor in third gear at 80mph you will spin the tires no problem. This car does 80mph to 140mph faster than many high performance cars do 0-60mph. The car has a lot of weight reduction and it is a slicktop to begin with so it tipped the local scale at a mere 3050lbs. That gives this car an insane 5lbs / hp weight ratio. Please if you do buy this car, be responsible. Take it to the track if you want to drive hard. I don't want to hear about you on the evening news. With drag radials this car would definitely be in the 10's. Hundreds of Build Photos available Parts all Purchased within the last year. It's pretty cloudy. **This car has no radio, it DOES have door speakers, they are MB Quart Components. The wiring is still in the dash. I wired an amp with a toggle switch and I have a hookup inside the console for my ipod. ***Update. If you use buy it now I will include a complete spare low mile Twin Turbo engine with everything minus turbos, a spare 5 speed transmission, a spare stock grade clutch set, a set of 2.5" 4 bolt Divorced Downpipes and 2.5" Testpipes. This was the setup I had in the car initially while I was building the current forged motor for it. ***Update: No, this car has never been wrecked. It has a clear title. I bought it off a girl I knew from high school's mother. She had it for 12 years before I bought it. The clutch fan locked up and broke the water pump and flew into the radiator. The cost to repair the car was going to be more than the value of the car at the time. She was going to donate it to charity. I knew they would just crush it for scrap. Knowing that these slicktops were EXTREMELY rare I bought it and proceeded to build the monster you see before you. To give you an idea how rare a 1995 Black Slicktop is consider this. They made 39,000 Z32's in 1990. But in 1995 they only made 3600 total cars. Out of those only 30 were Black Slicktops. So this car is 1 of only 30 made in 1995. It is registered on the Z32 Registry and to date there is only 1 other 1995 slicktop registered. Since these were considered base models at the time they were often overlooked. However they have a base curb weight of almost 500lbs less than a T-Top twin turbo so they are ideal for performance oriented owners. |

Nissan sells 100,000 Leaf EVs worldwide
Tue, Jan 21 2014Nissan sold 22,610 Leaf electric vehicles in the US last year, but the bigger story (literally) is how the company is selling the EV around the world. After selling the 99,999th Leaf to a woman in Virginia, Nissan sold the 100,000th Leaf to a man named Brett Garner in the UK. For the record, it took Nissan just about three years and one month to reach that mark, since the first Leafs were sold in December 2010. On a global scale, Nissan says the Leaf has a 45 percent market share among all the electric vehicles available. The car is available in 35 countries, but the bulk - as of the end of December, 42,122 units - have been sold in the US. That 99,999th Leaf was sold to Amy Eichenberger, a project manager overseeing major capital investments for the University of Virginia in Charlottesville (pictured below). Garner owns a dental practice in Fareham. You can read their gushing quotes about their new EVs in the Nissan press releases below. If you add in all of the electric vehicles that Nissan and partner Renault have sold (90,000 as of March, the last time official numbers were available), then the 100,000 was topped a while ago. Of course, electric vehicles remain a small portion of Nissan's global sales. In fiscal 2012, Nissan sold 4.9 million vehicles around the world. Still, 100,000 Leafs out of 4.9 million cars is far better than zero. Nissan LEAF global sales reach 100,000 units Nissan LEAF is best-selling EV in history with 45% market share The 100,000th customer is a British dentist After revolutionizing passenger vehicle segment Nissan is electrifying LCVs with the e-NV200 YOKOHAMA, Japan (January 20, 2014) – The 100,000th all-electric Nissan LEAF is being bought by a customer in the United Kingdom. The Nissan LEAF, the world's first mass-produced zero emissions vehicle, remains the best-selling EV in history with a 45% market share. Since its launch in December 2010 Nissan has seen the pace of sales increase consistently and 2013 was a record year. The LEAF is now available to customers in 35 countries on four continents. In Norway, the Nissan LEAF topped sales charts, out-selling conventional gasoline powered vehicles in October 2013. The 100,000th Nissan LEAF customer is Dr. Brett Garner, the owner of a dental practice in Fareham in the UK. "I have chosen my Nissan LEAF because I am very interested in its running costs," Dr. Garner said. "The cost of ownership such as maintenance, insurance and charging also convinced my wife.

Nissan alters all CVTs to act less like a stretched rubberband
Tue, 15 Jul 2014Among automotive enthusiasts, no one seems to hold a neutral opinion when it comes to continuously variable transmissions. CVTs are either praised for their ability to boost fuel economy or chided for their occasionally poor driving dynamics. Nissan is among the masters of these un-shifting gearboxes in the US, and it uses them in many vehicles in its lineup. However, for the 2015 model year, several models are getting a software update to make their CVTs a bit more like a conventional automatic.
To give drivers the option of feeling gearshifts while on the road, Nissan is adding its D-Step Shift Logic feature to the CVTs in multiple vehicles. Steve Powers, Nissan's senior manager of powertrain performance, told Autoblog the system forces the transmission to "hold a ratio and then shift" to simulate the way that a traditional automatic would. It's simply a change in software, but the company "can't do it to older CVTs," he said, because it would require changes to transmission logic, as well. According to Automotive News, the upgrade is coming to the 2015 Versa, Versa Note (pictured above), Sentra, V6-equipped Altima, Pathfinder and Quest. "We're rolling it out to all programs," said Powers.
Interestingly, buyer perception appears to be pushing the upgrade. John Curl, a Nissan North America regional product manager, told Automotive News that the decision to add the tech partially comes because some owners are bothered that the CVTs aren't changing gears. According to Powers, D-Step "avoids the rubber band feel," that many drivers didn't like. The different sensation of these transmissions seems like something consumers would notice during the test drive, or that the salesperson would inform them about. The same issue cropped up last year when the company was facing customer satisfaction problems among new buyers customers' unfamiliarity with the gearboxes.
