1991 Nissan 300zx Base Coupe 2-door 3.0l on 2040-cars
Tustin, California, United States
as many of you know when you buy a used z you will definelty spend some money on it.so if you buy mine you will probably not need to spend.I have spent close to 4k on parts and labor on this car, it is in overall very good condition, i will attach pics of invoices as there are lots of things to list.please look at them. i wasnt planning on selling this car as it is my favorite thing but due to the fact that i will be leaving out of state to go to school i will not be able to take it with me.the car runs very well, only thing is from park to drive it takes a few seconds to engage into gear, this has always been this way and i was advised not to do anything until the car has a transmission issue as it is a solenoid that controls it and the only way to get to it is from the transmission. if you go down to 2 gear then to drive, it engages right away. In no way does this effect anything i have had the car for close to 3 years and it has not been an issue.this was a extra car and not an everyday car , it was mostly my weekend car to take the tops down cruise the beach. the interior seats are new had them redone with the z logo, aslo had a custom panel made which can be removed that says 300zx.it actually can be lit up as there are l.e.d.s attached to them.brake booster needs to be replaced i will include one with the sale it makes a squeeky noise when you press down on the brake, not a big deal. i just havent had time to do it.car runs smooth shifts excellently i will attach a link to a youtube video.this is a desirable white tan brown combination im not trying to make money on this car, i would like to sell it to another z enthusiast who will appreciate and enjoy it. i have already lost money from buying it for a few grand and putting a few grand into it.. i will start this auction and put a reserve price that i belive is fair. happy bidding and if you have any other questions please dont hesitate to ask. i will be posting this locally also so if i get a reasonable offer i reserve the right to cancel this auction at my discretion.thus being said car is being sold as is condition with no returns.buyer is responsible for pickup or shipping costs.

Japanese automakers ramping production for renewed American sales
Wed, 21 Nov 2012The 2011 earthquake and tsunami that struck Japan took quite the toll on the automotive industry in that nation. Not content to lean on that tragedy as excuse for slagging sales, the Japanese automakers are planning on a major production expansion in North America. The aim is to reclaim the market share lost from the Tsunami-based dip, and overcome a dollar/yen exchange rate that makes exporting to America unprofitable.
Following the Tsunami, Japanese automakers ramped up production in their North American facilities to compensate, but according to Automotive News, Nissan, Honda and others have all reported plans for still-further increased production in the year ahead. As part of this ramp-up, Mazda will open a facility in Salamnca, Mexico before March of 2014. Part of that increase in output is 50,000 units of a Toyota-badged compact car, which Mazda will produce.
Other Mexican production facilities opening include a Honda plant, which will open in Spring 2014 in Celaya, and a Nissan plant, set to open later this year in Aguascalientes. Nissan also said that it will need another plant in North America within the next five years. According to Nissan Boss Carlos Ghosn, the company aims to raise its stake in the US market from 8 percent to 10, and adding production will help achieve that goal. Even Mitsubishi is aiming to boost production at its Normal, Illinois plant. Production of the Outlander Sport is currently at 50,000, which Mitsubishi wants to raise to 70,000.
US-built Infiniti Q50 engines to go into Euro-only cars
Thu, 12 Jun 2014Back in March, Infiniti announced that it would be adding a 2.0-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder to its Q50 line for European and Chinese buyers. Now, we know where that engine will be built.
Nissan's Decherd, TN facility will receive the $319-million investment, which will see a separate, dedicated line for the Infiniti engines. According to Automotive News, this is more than a line running alongside the Nissan operations - the Infiniti facility will sport its own unique architecture and interior lighting, in a bid to distinguish the premium line from its mass-market parent company.
The logistics of all this do seem, on the surface, quite screwy. Building a new engine on one continent for a car built on another that will eventually go on sale on a third doesn't seem too bright, although there is a catch here. The new engine will also find its way into the Mercedes-Benz C-Class, which will kick off production in Vance, AL later this year.
Nissan Leaf resale value expected to take a hit
Mon, 03 Jun 2013Nissan Leaf resale values may take a tumble, according to Kelley Blue Book. The vehicle evaluation resource said the 2013 Nissan Leaf will retain around 35 percent of its MSRP after three years; that's down five percent from what KBB gave the 2012 Leaf at the end of 2011. Automotive News reports KBB adjusted the EV's residual value prediction because the used transaction prices for the 2011 model have stuck around 35 percent for the past few months due to relatively cheap gasoline, not to mention the fact that Nissan trimmed the electric's MSRP from $36,050 to $29,650 before the $7,500 tax credit.
Since used buyers are often motivated by more practical buying concerns than early adopters or those wanting to curb their carbon emissions, they may not be willing to pay more for an EV. Meanwhile, early Leaf models are now coming to auction, abandoned by rental car companies after customers shunned them in favor of traditional internal-combustion vehicles. Many of those at auction have less than 10,000 miles and carry an average transaction price of just $13,700.
