This 300ZX Twin Turbo has been completely resurrected.  Purchased in May of 2011 not running, I have completely rebuilt most of the car.  4 of the injectors had given up the ghost as occurs often in this model.  I started in earnest to build a clean and very powerful street car.  I completed a full engine rebuild and upgrade in September of 2012.  Using mostly Z1 parts, I installed a stage 2 engine, with stage 2 heads, ZL4 camshafts, Wiseco pistons, Eagle Rods, along with the engine build, I installed Garrett GT675RS turbos, AMS manifolds, 3" downpipes, testpipes and exhaust system.  Z1 Massive intercoolers, 2.5" IC piping, Selin dual intake system, HKS blow off valves, RPS's heavy duty street clutch rated to 700lbft of torque and Z1 one piece drive shaft.  Along with a dyno tune by Z1 and methanol injection, the car puts out 622 rear wheel HP and 570lbft of torque at 23psi.  Everything has been installed professionally and with longevity and reliability in mind.  Currently the new engine has 3,475 miles on it.  The interior of the car has brand new leather seat skins by a Z club vendor, the carpet is in excellent shape as is all of the interior pieces and panels except a small tear in the the drivers side door card.  The T tops come complete with the shades, storage bags and do not leak!  The rear cargo carpet is brand new by Z1 and as you can see in the pictures has been embroidered with the 300ZX logo.  The rear tail lights are not cracked or chipped and the windows have recently been tinted with heat resistant ceramic based tint by Midwest Tinting in Lee's Summit Mo. Outside the car, a TwinZ front fascia and lip adorn the car and Ionic Dynamics reproduction 99 spec sideskirts have been installed.  The Wheels are 20X10" Niche wheels out back with 255/35/20 and 20X9" up front with 225/35/20 Do-Run F-one tires which are brand new.  Less than 250 miles on the tires.  Brakes are stock Z32 TT calipers with adapters and with Z33 Track rotors measuring 12.75" in diameter and 1.1" thick.     This car cannot be reproduced to this level of detail for the price I am asking.  If you wish to make an offer, please make it reasonable.  I do not need to sell this car, and will only entertain valid offers.  Feel free to ask questions here or text or call at 816 516 8610. Make me an offer, NO REASONABLE offer will be refused!  If you don't ask, you don't know!  Thanks for looking, you will not be disappointed by this machine if you buy it!

2014 Nissan GT-R squeaks in under $100k*, Murano CrossCabriolet priced, too

Fri, 25 Jan 2013

Another year, another price hike for the ridiculously awesome Nissan GT-R. When the GT-R was introduced for the 2008 model year, it had a starting price of $69,850, increasing steadily each year up to $96,820 for 2013, and now Nissan has announced that the 2014 GT-R will have a base sticker price of $99,590 (*not including the destination charge, which has not been announced yet).
More than just a simple price hike, the 2014 GT-R gets some upgrades, continuing the model's other longstanding tradition - continuous improvement. While there has been no increase in power, Nissan says the 545-horsepower, twin-turbo V6 now has better response in its mid- and upper-rpm ranges. Nissan has also improved the car's handling, giving it different shock absorbers, springs and a reworked front anti-roll bar, along with "increased body rigidity," though it doesn't specify how the latter is accomplished. The changes are said to lower the coupe's center of gravity and further improve its (already spectacular) handling. A few styling tweaks include the addition of a Premium Interior Package offering hand-stitched red leather seats, a color pattern for the steering wheel on the $109,300 GT-R Black Edition and an engraved aluminum plate showing the owner who built their car's engine.
Along with the announcement of the 2014 GT-R, Nissan also released details for the 2014 Murano CrossCabriolet. The big - but not surprising - news is that Nissan has lowered the price of its slow-selling crossover convertible to $41,995, representing a price drop of just over $2,500. Aside from price, model year changes include two new exterior colors and redesigned 20-inch wheels.

Recharge Wrap-up: Toyota FCV ready for production, Nissan tests Leaf-to-Home energy management

Fri, Oct 17 2014

Toyota will begin selling its hydrogen fuel cell vehicle (FCV) in Japan in December. The US and Europe can expect to see the car become available next summer. The FCV, which will likely be called "Mirai" (meaning "future") in Japan, is ready for production ahead of its initial deadline at the end of the fiscal year in March. Toyota planned for annual production of 700 units, but might increase output to meet higher-than-expected demand, which is currently nearing 1,000 units. The cars will mostly be sold in the four cities where a hydrogen fueling infrastructure is already being put in place: Tokyo, Nagoya, Osaka and Fukuoka. Read more at Nikkei Asian Review. Nissan is testing the Leaf EV as part of an energy management system including "Leaf to Home" technology. The system allows the Leaf to help support the power grid during peak energy usage, or provide backup power to a home or building during outages, particularly in emergencies like natural disasters. Using the Leaf's battery to provide electricity during peak hours would lessen the demand on the grid and make the system work more efficiently. Furthermore, if consumers are compensated for the energy saved by using the Leaf for power during periods of high demand, it could encourage more people to adopt the EV. CDP keeps track of how much companies are disclosing about their impact on global climate change. "The need for data on corporate climate change impacts and strategies to reduce them has never been greater," says CDP CEO Paul Simpson. "For this reason we congratulate those businesses that have achieved a position on CDP's Climate Disclosure Leadership Index." Other perfect scores were earned by Nissan, BMW, Daimler and General Motors. Read more in the press release from Honda below. Scientists at Stanford University have developed a lithium ion battery that can warn users before it overheats. A thin layer of copper between the anode and the layer separating the anode from the cathode acts as a sensor. When it detects lithium buildups from overcharging are approaching the separator, it sends an early alert long before it gets to a point where it would cause a short (which could lead to a fire). The new safety measure could be used in all sorts of battery applications, and not be limited to EVs. Learn more at Phys.org.
