1988 300zx Turbo Shiro Special Limited Production Pearl White Z Fantastic Condit on 2040-cars

Year:1988 Mileage:160000
Location:

In this ad I'm going to be 100% honest with you. I am hoping you can take into consideration that any other car owner is going to totally bullshit you, and make things seem the way they ARE NOT. PLEASE READ IT ALL

The current condition of the car is: Inoperable
But not for long...This car could hardly be considered a "PROJECT" because it is about 90% done
Car has a 1988 Donor Shiro Vg30et in it with 140k miles. This motor has a handful of maintenance done to it including full timing belt job ( which includes the tensioner, water pump and thermostat

I AM THE SECOND OWNER. IT HAS A CLEAR TITLE
Car has 160k miles on body and 140k on motor
-I bought it without the engine installed.  It was rebuilt and ready to put in when Christian Urmanic stole the original motor and backup motor + Parts with the help of Barry Wilson ( Both live in Ohio, feel free to steer clear )

The clutch slave cylinder is being replaced at the moment, along with a damper bypass line.  Motor will need a turbo ( Hx35 is ideal because car will come with a special top mount turbo relocation kit ) It will also need a custom downpipe that I can help you get. ( If you decide to top mount that is. )

Other than that the motor is mounted and almost ready to go. I have 2 full boxes of bolt on parts that go in the engine bay and inside the car.  I don't believe I'm missing anything at all and with that being said I think I have extras.

The inside of the car IS BEAUTIFUL .Right now is disassembled for a full clean but everything is sitting inside CLEAN and ready to be reinstalled ( It wouldn't take long at all )

KEY POINTS:

-The car is relatively rust free. The rustiest spot of the whole car will be the manifolds and I'm pretty sure they were factory made rusty
( Just kidding ) The rust in the normal spot in the back left have been cut out completely. They will need to be filled in with your desired method.  The only rust was in the back left wheel well area ( the expected spot ) and it wasn't a lot at all but there are a few less than an apple sized holes back there now. There are 2 small rust spots in the paint under the rear light ( literally ) and they're not rusted but unfortunately exist.
-2 dents on each rear panel below each rear side window. They're small but annoyingly they exist. I'm sorry, I didn't do it.
- Apparently Christian Urmanic got away with more than my motors because he stole my wheel spacers as well, only recently found out and haven't gotten to fix it. In the process of stealing those he broke 3-5 random studs that will need to be replaced.
- 2 small rock cracks in windshield. I think one is top left and one is bottom right. They can be easily sealed.
- Front of the car is a little rough. There are scratches and imperfections.  The car was repainted ( didn't do it ) and I suggest a repaint when you've got it running perfect.  The car in all looks great but if you take to focusing and looking for imperfections you'll find them.
- Front and rear hydraulic arms work on hood and hatch
- Cracked right fog light
- Rear carpet shrank like normal but is pretty clean.
-Shiro seats look great, have a couple imperfections but are the top 3 nicest I've ever seen.

- ECU ( Friend fried his and I wasn't using it, sorry )
- More if I remember but I think that covers it to be running and show ready ( Will edit )

- 24/7 Consulting on the car. I know my way in and around it now and having someone to talk to about it helps.
- An agreement that I will be the first one that knows when the car is for sale. I won't sell it without knowing that I'll be the first consideration for selling it if you decide you don't want it anymore.

That's about everything I can think of, if you have questions feel free to contact me by phone 812-756-8383

Nissan's Dacia Duster-based Terrano revealed

Thu, 22 Aug 2013

The new Nissan Terrano has appeared in production form after an apparent August 20 launch in India, but the small sport utility vehicle remains sadly aloof from the US market. We've had our eyes on the Terrano ever since we learned it would be produced as an upscale alternative to the Dacia Duster on which it's based, but currently Nissan has no plans to import it here. Blame safety and perhaps emissions laws - the Duster was never designed for our market.
Even with these less-than-high resolution images, it's clear that the beyond the obvious badges, Nissan's signature trapezoidal grille and a slightly altered rear end with new taillights are the biggest visual clues that this is the Terrano, but those with astute eyes will also notice a slightly redesigned hood and blacked-out door pillars instead of the Duster's body-colored items. Either way, it looks to be a handsome, low-cost little brute - the sort of simple and rugged SUV that's hard to come by in today's marketplace.

DC fast charging not as damaging to EV batteries as expected

Mon, Mar 17 2014

As convenient as DC fast charging is, there have been lots of warnings that repeated dumping of so many electrons into an electric vehicle's battery pack in such a short time would reduce the battery's life. While everyone agrees that DC fast charging does have some effect on battery life, it may not be as bad as previously expected. Over on SimanaitisSays, Dennis Simanaitis, writes about a recent presentation by Matt Shirk of the Idaho National Laboratory (INL) called DC Fast, Wireless, And Conductive Charging Evaluation Projects (PDF) that describes an ongoing test of four 2012 Nissan Leaf EVs that are being charged in two pairs of two. One pair only recharges from 50-kW DC fast chargers, which the other two sip from 3.3-kW Level 2 chargers exclusively. Otherwise, the cars are operated pretty much the same: climate is automatically set to 72 degrees, are driven on public roads around Phoenix, AZ and have the same set of dedicated drivers is rotated through the four cars. "Degradation depends more on the miles traveled than on the nature of recharging." What's most interesting are the charts on page seven of Shirk's presentation (click the image above to enlarge), which show the energy capacity of each of the four vehicles. When they were new, the four batteries were each tested to measure their energy capacity and given a 0 capacity loss baseline. They were then tested at 10,000, 20,000, 30,000 and 40,000 miles, and at each point, the DC-only EVs had roughly the same amount of battery loss as the Level 2 test subjects. The DC cars did lose a bit more at each test, but only around a 25-percent overall loss after 40k, compared to 23 percent for the Level 2 cars. Simanaitis' takeaway is that, "INL data suggest that the amount of degradation depends more on the miles traveled than on the nature of recharging." The tests are part of the INLs' Advanced Vehicle Testing Activity work and a final report is forthcoming. These initial numbers from IPL do mesh with other research into DC fast charging, though. Mitsubishi said daily fast charging wouldn't really hurt the battery in the i-MiEV and MIT tests of a Fisker Karma battery showed just 10-percent loss over 1,500 rapid charge-discharge cycles.

Datsun to unveil second model later this month

Sun, 08 Sep 2013

Datsun, Nissan's new sub-brand for emerging markets, has announced plans to unveil its second model. Its first, the Go, was unveiled almost two months ago, and promised affordable, connected motoring for five in a handsome hatchback body. Datsun is following that up with a pair of new models for Indonesia.
The first of these two new vehicles will be shown on September 17 in Jakarta, eschewing the typical auto show debut. It's targeted at so-called "risers," the nickname for a group of highly aspirational customers in the Indonesian market. Datsun developed it locally with help from Nissan, and it'll cost under 100 million Indonesian rupiah (about $8,900 at today's rates).
We'll have the full boatload of information on the newest member of the Datsun family when it debuts on September 17. Scroll on to read the full press release from Datsun.
