Hello and thank you for viewing my auction for my 1986 300zx Turbo. I am very sad to see my "dream car" go , but I am starting a new school program and can't afford to keep two vehicles. My hope is that someone here on Ebay will appreciate this awesome car as much as I do.  I am the second owner of this Z and have put a lot of time and money into it. This Z has been my daily driver for the past 3 years until I bought another newer car.  Again, due to school I am needing to sell it.  That and I really feel like this vehicle deserves to be driven and tinkered with on a regular basis , time in which I will no longer have .  The car runs great , transmission shifts smooth, and  with all the cars I have driven I still feel like this car drives better than anything on the road. Below will be lists of pros and cons for your consideration,  Winning bidder please pay within 48 hours a deposit of $500.00 USD.  I will be happy to help arrange shipping with buyer .  I have used U-Ship in the past with positive results.  I have a clean title and car is ready to go anytime.  Please if you have any questions, or require more pictures let me know. Thanks for looking and happy bidding.

2 Turbo decals to replace originals for when car is painted.
Quarter window moldings have been replaced. So, no more melting molding.

Cons
Paint could be better
2 or 3 very very small not spreading spots of surface rust
Crack in rear taillight that isn't noticeable since its on the inside part
small 3 inch cut in front bumper
Valve cover gasket needs replacing.  Note*  I have never had to add oil and the gasket has been slightly leaking for years
AC needs service.  I was planning on converting to 134A .  Could be a simple change of a compressor from a wrecked car.
There is something putting a 100 miliamp load on the battery with the car off.  I have determined through testing that it is caused by the 10amp fuse controlling the interior lighting system.  This fuse controls the Radio, interior lights, and AC unit. I have been taking fuse out when vehicle is parked more than a day or two to keep battery from depleting.  I suspect that the culprit is the after market radio as it has given me trouble since owning the car.  I used to drive the vehicle daily so I may never have noticed this in the past , but now that it is parked in my garage more often than not I have noticed the battery drain.  Should be a relatively easy fix.
Radio
Windshield washer pump may be corroded. I know the line needs replacing.
Driver seat has some wear that is appropriate for a vehicle of this age.. With that being said, it actually doesn't look bad for its age.. but there is some wear.
Rear hatch carpet has a black stain that wont go away.
Compass and G-force meter sometimes look crazy but work more often than not.  I suspect the radio has bad wiring and is interfering with this cluster.

Overall this is a very fun car to drive.  It , like any 26 year old car is going to have some problems.  I feel there's enough good to out weigh the bad , and with a little TLC this car can be a brilliant vehicle for many more years to come.  I have done my best in representing the condition of the vehicle and it will be sold As-Is.  Again, please ask any questions you may have before committing to purchase.  Thanks !

Concerning gas MPG.  Last long trip I took was 6 hours of mostly highway and I got 25mpg.  City/ Hwy approx 18-19mpg

Meet Sparky, Nissan's Leaf-based, Frontier-bedded EV parts hauler [w/video]

Thu, 18 Sep 2014

For many enthusiasts, the concept of the ute - a car with a pickup bed - is somehow irresistibly appealing. On paper, it promises the marriage of a truck's utility and a car's superior driving dynamics, and for that reason alone, we'd love to see more of them. Yet while other parts of the world get them in good numbers, North America doesn't ever see them - at least not for long. Based on what we've seen of late, though, that's not due to a lack of motivation on the part of engineers.
BMW wowed us several years ago with an M3 ute, and earlier this year, some interns converted a Mini Paceman into the pickup-bodied Paceman Adventure. Loathe to let their rivals in Munich and Oxford have all the fun, Nissan has built its very own car-based pickup. Meet Sparky, the world's first Leaf Frontier.
Like the M3, this all-electric ute is used as a parts hauler for Nissan's engineering teams at its sprawling Stanfield, AZ tech center and proving grounds.

Renault planning a Tata Nano rival. Again.

Wed, 28 Nov 2012

Four years ago, Renault confirmed that it would partner with India's Bajaj Auto to develop a rival to the Tata Nano. At the time, as everyone waited for the Tata Nano to arrive, you could have used a Richter scale to measure the tremors the executive suites of any automaker with an interest in the low end of emerging markets. Then the Nano, still the cheapest car in the world, didn't sell so well - at the end of last year its sales were just six percent of its most conservative projections - and everyone seemed content to let Tata spend the money to figure out if there really was a market for the cheapest car in the world.
Renault believes there is, kind of. Automotive News Europe reports that it will partner with Nissan to build two low-priced cars for emerging markets, one for €3,000 ($3,888 U.S.) and another for €5,000 ($6,400 U.S.). The price of the least expensive offering is nearly $1,400 more than a Nano, which costs $2,500, and that can't be considered a small sum in comparison. But one of the hindsight knocks on the Nano has been that even in emerging markets buyers don't want a car whose biggest lure is that it is cheap; they'd rather give their aspirations a bit more of a workout.
Renault's offerings are scheduled to hit the non-Western market in late 2014, which is coincidentally the same year that will see the return of the budget-minded and emerging-market-specific Datsun nameplate. They'll be built in Renault facilities in Chennai, India, with no mention made of Bajaj this time around.

GM, UAW poaching Nissan workers in Tennessee

Tue, Sep 8 2015

General Motors and the United Auto Workers are going on a recruitment drive at the Spring Hill factory in Tennessee, and they're hoping to poach some skilled workers from Nissan's nearby plant in Smyrna, TN. The General and the union even bought a billboard advertising for industrial electricians near the Japanese automaker's facility, according to the Daily News Journal. The reason for the billboard was simple. "GM was short of electricians," said Tim Stannard, the president of the UAW local at Spring Hill, to the Daily News Journal. The factory currently builds the Chevrolet Equinox but has a contract to assemble the next generation of Ecotec engines and the Cadillac XT5, which replaces the SRX. Thanks to the $185-million deal, employment there is expected to double by May 2016, according to Stannard, with roughly 1,800 additional union jobs. Beyond just several billboards, GM has job postings online for the Spring Hill plant looking for workers with specific skills. There has already been some interest in the positions among Nissan employees, Stannard indicated. According to a recent study by the Center for Automotive Research, the average GM worker currently makes $58 an hour, including benefits. Comparatively, Nissan pays an average of $42 an hour with benefits. The General's number could change in the coming weeks because its contract with the UAW is about to expire, and higher wages are among the major negotiating points.
