All inquiries except: from those that do not have the funds, have to consult with the "Boss" first, or are afraid to buy a car long distance. Fairly priced for a straight ZX that has not been messed with. My feedback is 100% and that should count for something. It is almost like driving a new car, and for those who remember / owned one, it is more surreal.

I reserve the right to end this listing at anytime. This is a 2 owner, exceedingly well maintained gem that has never been driven hard or abused. Great for Z clubs / events. Do not hesitate to reach me via phone: 305-302-4617. Some palm tree and pavement reflections from the sun. The engine bay is not dirty, it is the cosmoline / rust protectant that was applied when new. Can be removed, but left as original.

I can assist with shipping, as I have a contact in the industry. Let me know if you need a quote. It belongs on a car hauler.

1983 Datsun / Nissan 280ZX 5 speed w/ 38000 mi. - Last year of the great 80's generation  -  GETTING MORE DIFFICULT TO FIND IN THIS ORIGINAL / UNMOLESTED / RUST FREE CONDITION.  This awesome 280 has an all orig. interior, down to the floor mats. It has been meticulously cared for and garage kept. For a Datsun / Nissan purist, it is definitely a great piece of history. NO ACCIDENTS / NO PAINT. All systems on point and function as new.

The Orig. Red paint has an amazing 32 year old shine. It was Rust coated when new, so no corrosion. The moldings, handles, window glass, lettering, roof panels, covers, rubber seals, and all other exterior features are in super condition. The wheels are clean and the tires are like new. It drives straight down the road with zero issues. Never run through an automatic car wash and always hand washed / waxed are a great part as to why it shows so well.

On the inside, the Gray interior still looks and feels great. As you can see in the pics, the seats have always been covered and the flooring still holds the orig. mats from 83. The door panels, t-top bags, t-top inserts, dash ( no cracks ), center console, faceplates, etc. are stock orig. and all of the interior buttons / switches - power windows, door locks, antenna, cruise, hatch release, fuel door, and even the clock keeps perfect time ( see pic ). It does have the orig. stereo / speakers and the sound is great. The orig. spare, tools, jack, inflator canister, bolts are still in place.

Mechanically, it starts, idles, and drives smoothly as you would expect of "well-oiled" machine. The engine compartment is stock and all of the servicing is up to date - a/c, belts, tune up, hoses, coolant, thermostat, fluids all changed / maintained at the proper intervals, The 5 speed tranny  / clutch shift softly and it performs on all levels. It has never been driven hard. The a/c is blistering cold and the brakes have plenty of pad left. All of the other mechanical functions are on point.

A fun blast from the past that is a great conversation piece and will get you positive attention wherever you go.

These are the cars with the best and worst depreciation after 5 years

Thu, Nov 19 2020

The average new vehicle sold in America loses nearly half of its initial value after five years of ownership. No surprise there; we all expect that shiny new car to start depreciating as soon as we drive it off the lot. But some vehicles lose value a lot faster than others. According to data provided by iSeeCars.com, trucks and truck-based sport utility vehicles generally hold their value better than other vehicle types, with the Jeep Wrangler — in both four-door Unlimited and standard two-door styles — and Toyota Tacoma sitting at the head of the pack. The Jeep Wrangler Unlimited's average five-year depreciation of 30.9% equals a loss in value of $12,168. That makes Jeep's four-door off-roader the best overall pick for buyers looking to minimize depreciation. The Toyota Tacoma's 32.4% loss in initial value means it loses just $10,496. The smaller dollar amount — the least amount of money lost after five years — indicates that Tacoma buyers pay less than Wrangler Unlimited buyers, on average, when they initially buy the vehicle. The standard two-door Jeep Wrangler is third on the list, depreciating 32.8% after five years and losing $10,824. Click here for a full list of the top 10 vehicles with the least depreciation over five years. On the other side of the depreciation coin, luxury sedans tend to plummet in value at a much faster rate than other vehicle types. The BMW 7 Series leads the losers with a 72.6% drop in value after five years, which equals an alarming $73,686. BMW's slightly smaller 5 Series is next, depreciating 70.1%, or $47,038, over the same period. Number three on the biggest losers list is the Nissan Leaf, the only electric vehicle to appear in the bottom 10. The electric hatchback matches the 5 Series with a 70.1% drop in value, but since it's a much cheaper vehicle, that percentage equals a much smaller $23,470 loss. Recharge Wrap-up: Reverse graffiti powered by Nissan Leaf; BMW introduces Wallbox Pro

Mon, Sep 29 2014

BMW has a new, faster version of the Wallbox home EV charger. The Wallbox Pro offers 7.4 kilowatts, and can charge the BMW i3 to 80 percent in under three hours. It features a seven-inch touchscreen and proximity sensor, plus an 11.5-foot cord. The Wallbox Pro can also be used with smart home systems such as lighting and heating. The Wallbox Pro is available in Europe, and will come to the US later in the year. Read more at Hybrid Cars. Nissan is using the Leaf to power the creation of "reverse graffiti" in London. The company has commissioned artist Moose to selectively wash dirt off of a wall outside of a subway station, leaving behind a mural of London landmarks. Moose used a jet washer powered by the Leaf's battery to create the piece. The goal is to highlight the amount of pollution in London and other large cities, which is not a new idea. "It is a reminder that electric vehicles don't have an exhaust to emit the kind of air pollution which has stained the wall Moose has created his piece on," says Nissan's Jean-Pierre Diernaz. See the artwork in the gallery, and read more in the press release below. Local Motors used a 3D printer to make the Strati electric car in 44 hours. The car was printed with 212 layers of carbon-reinforced ABS thermoplastic. After printing, the team then spent two days finishing the car to make it run. It is powered by the drivetrain from a Renault Twizy, and is capable of 40 miles per hour. Now the question is if this sort of small-scale car manufacturing using 3D printing technology will catch on. See how a car gets printed in the time-lapse video below, and read more over at Treehugger. Nissan cleans up London with the world's first car-powered graffiti - Nissan LEAF powers "Reverse Graffiti" street art in Waterloo - Mass-scale mural imagines a cleaner London, without car fumes - The artwork is on show in Waterloo, London near popular Southbank LONDON – Nissan is highlighting London's battle with air quality in the UK by using the 100% electric Nissan LEAF – the world's best-selling electric vehicle (EV) – to power a striking piece of street art in Waterloo, London that depicts the capital's iconic skyline. Nissan commissioned Reverse Graffiti artist Moose – the founder of his field – to create the mass-scale mural, which was unveiled today. Unlike traditional graffiti, Moose creates his art by cleaning dirt off surfaces using a jet washer or wire brush, leaving a striking design in negative on the wall.

Nissan reveals updated 2015 370Z Nismo among the faithful

Fri, 16 May 2014

Well before quick Honda Si models of the '80s or the performance juggernaut that the Toyota Supra and Mazda RX-7 became in the 90s, the Datsun 240Z was an early stake in the ground for Japanese sports cars. It was affordable, but the original Z-car was also a capable coupe that could show its tail to European and American rivals. Today, Nissan celebrates the car each year with fellow enthusiasts at its ZDAYZ event, and this year in North Carolina, it's surprising fans by launching the 2015 370Z Nismo there with some significant upgrades.
The biggest change is that the 370Z Nismo is available with a seven-speed automatic transmission for the first time. The six-speed manual is still standard, of course. But for those who don't want to use a clutch, Nissan is offering the new automatic with Downshift Rev Matching and a manual mode via paddle shifters. Power is still provided by the same 3.7-liter V6 as last year, producing 350 horsepower and 276 pound-feet of torque with a limited-slip differential at the back for added traction.
This hottest 370Z model also receives a brand-new GT-R-inspired bodykit that features a deeper front fascia, LED running lights and blacked-out headlight bezels. It also sports a new chin spoiler bearing the Nismo emblem and red accents that flow from the front, down the side sills and all the way to the rear bumper. At the back, there is also a smaller ducktail spoiler for a more mature look. The 2015 also wears cool 19-inch forged aluminum wheels by Rays with a new twin-spoke design and charcoal finish. Compared to last year's model, it's a much more mature-looking coupe.
