All inquiries except: from those that do not have the funds, have to consult with the "Boss" first, or are afraid to buy a car long distance. Fairly priced for a straight ZX that has not been messed with. My feedback is 100% and that should count for something. It is almost like driving a new car, and for those who remember / owned one, it is more surreal. I reserve the right to end this listing at anytime. This is a 2 owner, exceedingly well maintained gem that has never been driven hard or abused. Great for Z clubs / events. Do not hesitate to reach me via phone: 305-302-4617. Some palm tree and pavement reflections from the sun. The engine bay is not dirty, it is the cosmoline / rust protectant that was applied when new. Can be removed, but left as original. I can assist with shipping, as I have a contact in the industry. Let me know if you need a quote. It belongs on a car hauler.
1983 Datsun / Nissan 280ZX 5 speed w/ 38000 mi. - Last year of the great 80's generation - GETTING MORE DIFFICULT TO FIND IN THIS ORIGINAL / UNMOLESTED / RUST FREE CONDITION. This awesome 280 has an all orig. interior, down to the floor mats. It has been meticulously cared for and garage kept. For a Datsun / Nissan purist, it is definitely a great piece of history. NO ACCIDENTS / NO PAINT. All systems on point and function as new. The Orig. Red paint has an amazing 32 year old shine. It was Rust coated when new, so no corrosion. The moldings, handles, window glass, lettering, roof panels, covers, rubber seals, and all other exterior features are in super condition. The wheels are clean and the tires are like new. It drives straight down the road with zero issues. Never run through an automatic car wash and always hand washed / waxed are a great part as to why it shows so well. On the inside, the Gray interior still looks and feels great. As you can see in the pics, the seats have always been covered and the flooring still holds the orig. mats from 83. The door panels, t-top bags, t-top inserts, dash ( no cracks ), center console, faceplates, etc. are stock orig. and all of the interior buttons / switches - power windows, door locks, antenna, cruise, hatch release, fuel door, and even the clock keeps perfect time ( see pic ). It does have the orig. stereo / speakers and the sound is great. The orig. spare, tools, jack, inflator canister, bolts are still in place. Mechanically, it starts, idles, and drives smoothly as you would expect of "well-oiled" machine. The engine compartment is stock and all of the servicing is up to date - a/c, belts, tune up, hoses, coolant, thermostat, fluids all changed / maintained at the proper intervals, The 5 speed tranny / clutch shift softly and it performs on all levels. It has never been driven hard. The a/c is blistering cold and the brakes have plenty of pad left. All of the other mechanical functions are on point. A fun blast from the past that is a great conversation piece and will get you positive attention wherever you go. Nissan Juke-R [w/video]
Fri, 03 May 2013The Other Brother
The handler strapped into the carbon fiber race bucket next to me is the only other person outside of yours truly who looks like he thinks this is a bad idea. I've just finished situating myself in the cabin of the very first Nissan Juke-R ever constructed. There are literally thousands of man hours in this single prototype and only four examples of the car total in the entire world. Each one carries a price tag of around $656,400 at current conversion rates, making this both the rarest and most expensive piece of machinery anyone has ever let me get close enough to sniff, let alone drive.
And that's exactly what I mean to do.
Nissan ex-Chairman Carlos Ghosn wins release from jail
Tue, Mar 5 2019TOKYO — The Tokyo District Court approved the release of former Nissan Chairman Carlos Ghosn on bail of 1 billion yen ($8.9 million) on Tuesday, although the end of his four months of detention in Japan was delayed when prosecutors appealed that decision. Prosecutors filed their objection to Ghosn's release within hours of the announcement he was going to be granted bail. But their appeal was rejected by the court, paving the way for his release. A lawyer for Ghosn said he would not be able to leave the Tokyo Detention Center until Wednesday at the earliest, because bail procedures can't be done at night. The acceptance of Ghosn's request for bail, his third, came a day after the lawyer, Junichiro Hironaka, said he was confident the auto executive would gain his release. Hironaka, who recently joined Ghosn's defense team, is famous for winning acquittals in Japan, a nation where the conviction rate is 99 percent. Hironaka said Monday that he had offered new ways to monitor Ghosn after his release, such as camera surveillance. Hironaka also questioned the grounds for Ghosn's arrest, calling the case "very peculiar," and suggesting it could have been dealt with as an internal company matter. He welcomed the decision, telling reporters: "It was good we proposed concrete ways showing how he would not tamper with evidence or try to flee." The 1 billion yen bail set by the court was relatively high but not the highest ever in Japan. Among the conditions for Ghosn's release were restrictions on where he can live, a ban on foreign travel and other promises not to tamper with evidence or try to flee, the court said. The former head of the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Motors alliance has been detained since he was arrested on Nov. 19. He says he is innocent of charges of falsifying financial information and of breach of trust. In Japan, suspects are routinely detained for months, often until their trials start. That's especially true of those who insist on their innocence. Prosecutors say suspects may tamper with evidence and shouldn't be released. Two previous requests submitted by his legal team were denied. His previous defense lawyer, Motonari Ohtsuru, had said Ghosn's release might not come for months. Hironaka is among many critics of the Japanese justice system who say such lengthy detentions of suspects are unfair.
Nissan IDX sports coupe future increasingly cloudy [w/poll]
Tue, 15 Jul 2014There's a strong desire among enthusiasts for more inexpensive, lightweight, fun-to-drive, rear-wheel-drive cars to exist in a world that contrasts sharply with automakers' desire to make money. While we all love the feeling of controlling the back end with the throttle, front-wheel drive is king when it comes to affordable cars. One of the future bright spots in the rear-drive market appeared to come from Nissan with its pair of IDx concepts. The two showcars from the 2013 Tokyo Motor Show took liberal design inspiration from the classic Datsun 510 and mixed it with modern powertrains in very attractive little packages. However, some pretty dark clouds are reportedly now hanging over the project.
Last we heard, a production version was supposedly "in the plan" from the Japanese automaker, but its trajectory may have changed inside the company in the last few months. According to Pierre Loing, vice president of product planning for Nissan Americas, the issue is making the sports coupe profitable. While Nissan has access to rear-wheel drive platforms, they are all meant for more premium vehicles (read: they cost too much). Assuming around 60,000 annual sales, Loing tells Ward's Auto that making a dedicated chassis for the IDx just isn't a moneymaker. If the car still does see production, it'll be after 2016, he says.
The decision whether to build the IDx has been teetering for a while. Nissan spokesperson Dan Bedore previously told Autoblog that the coupe would need a groundswell of support from consumers and enthusiasts if is to actually have a shot at production. If you are among the hopeful looking to see this affordable, rear-drive performance car in showrooms, get some friends together and start letting Nissan know that you actually want it - you can start here by adding a Comment and voting in our poll, because we're going to send the results on to Nissan.
