1980 Datsun / Nissan 280zx - 10th Anniversary Edition 55k Original Miles on 2040-cars
Saint Johns, Florida, United States
This is a authentic original 1980 Datsun 10th Anniversary Edition. I am the third owner. The car is located in Jacksonville FLA.
General Condition: The vehicle is a Nissan with 55k on the clock. The body and frame are rust free with no signs of any accident damage. This is a numbers matching original car. The engine, transmission and differential are all solid. A compression check on the engine shows all cylinders have very good compression. Car is original except for a cold air intake and the exhaust system was replaced from the catalytic converter back. Interior is in good shape with expected wear and aging. All gauges and the AC work. The weather stripping is in good condition. Wheels are the original alloy wheels in good shape. The suspension has been redone with Tokico blue HP shocks and struts and the front coil springs have been replaced. All the glass on the car is good with no cracks or dings. I have the original air box. There are no cracks in the dash. The carpets are in good shape. It appears that the vehicle was mostly garaged kept and shows it. Problem Areas: The paint on the car shows expected aging with minor nicks and dings. The black paint on the bright work is pealing off in places. The passenger door had some surface rust on a paint seam and was treated with POR 15. It is a older average paint job showing its age. The drivers seat is showing expected wear on the bolsters and could use a few new panels. As with all Zcars the vinyl is peeling off some of the panels in the rear of the car. The radio works but the cassette deck needs new drive belts. The cruise control does not seem to work. Also the antenna does not fully retract. The electronic "warning system" is not working properly and I have a replacement. Documentation: I have the original owners manual, service manual and the literature from Nissan regarding the 10th Anniversary club. Service history on the car is fairly complete except for routine maintenance. Spare Parts: I have the following parts for the car. I set of brake rotors for the front. A new set of brake lines. A set of belts (fan belts). A replacement warning system module. Complete set of emblems and decals for the exterior of the car. A spare ECU (computer). Also I have a set of four Toyo Proxies 215/60/14 tires that are negotiable. Summary: This is a nice solid honest car that has not been crashed, rusted out or heavily modified. Please look at the images of the vehicle in regards to its condition. This vehicle is for sale outside of eBay and the auction may be ended. If you have a poor rating or a zero history please contact me when bidding or your bid may be remove. There is no warranty for this vehicle. Shipping will be at buyers expense and I will do what I can to help in that area. The car is very drivable but please keep in mind that this is a 35 year old car that has been driven only about a thousand miles a year. If you have any questions please ask prior to bidding. |

Nissan teases new pickup on Twitter [w/video]
Tue, 03 Jun 2014Nissan is celebrating 80 years of building pickup trucks by teasing its latest one on Twitter ahead of a June 11 reveal. Official information about the new vehicle is essentially nonexistent at the moment, but there are some clues to extrapolate from.
There's a special member of the #Nissan family on the way. Due date: June 11th. pic.twitter.com/OkQ0GkXypV

Nissan quietly, quickly installing more CHAdeMO stations
Wed, Jul 2 2014Nissan Leaf electric-vehicle sales continue to grow. And the number of US fast-charging stations that the Leaf can use are growing, well, faster. As it should be. Nissan has made good on its early-2013 vow to help ensure that the number of CHAdeMO stations in the US tripled by mid-2014, with Atlanta, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Dallas emerging as the most prevalent US markets, Green Car Reports says. In fact, the number of such stations, which can charge a Leaf to 80-percent battery capacity in about a half hour, has jumped to 633 from about 160 as of January 2013. About 180 are at Nissan dealerships, and that number should continue to surge since Nissan plans to aggressively add fast-charging stations through next March. Nissan spokesman Brian Brockman, in an e-mail to AutoblogGreen, confirmed those numbers and added that companies such as NRG, through its eVgo program, are also adding fast chargers throughout the country. The continued increase is good news for drivers of the Mitsubishi i (okay, we admit, there are not that many of them out there) and future drivers of the Kia Soul EV, as both of the models are CHAdeMO-compatible. Granted, the US has nothing on Europe, where the number of CHAdeMO stations has jumped to more than 1,000 from about 600 stations early last year. Nissan expects the continent to have about 1,800 fast-charging stations by year end. Still, the number of US CHAdeMO stations dwarfs the number of Tesla Motors' Supercharger stations, which total about 100.
Why 2015 is going to be a huge year for trucks
Thu, Jan 22 2015Nissan chief executive Carlos Ghosn took center stage to introduce the 2016 Titan last week at the Detroit Auto Show. He spoke of the truck's new features, impressive Cummins V8 diesel engine and the extensive amount of time and money required to build a modern, competitive pickup truck. "We have done all of this because we see opportunity – an opportunity in the unmet needs of today's American truck customers," Ghosn said. He was speaking about the Titan, but his thoughts echo the industry's mindset: When it comes to trucks, find an opportunity and attack. Even with CAFE regulations looming and fickle consumer preferences, investing in trucks is a no-brainer for automakers. Some consumers will always need a truck for their job or lifestyle. And some people will always want one, whether they need it or not. With that in mind, here are four reasons why the pickup-truck sector is more important than ever and poised for growth in 2015. View 24 Photos The Nissan Titan Is Back Okay, it never left, but the Titan hadn't been redesigned since its launch in 2003, and Nissan sold more NV200s than Titans in 2014. It's an understatement to say the truck was languishing. That all changes with the 2016 model. The Titan will come in two variants, a traditional fullsize competitor and the Titan XD. The XD will lead the market launch, and it arrives late this year. It's pitched as a "whitespace" offering, Nissan sales and marketing vice president Fred Diaz said. The idea is to offer something in the general size and price range of a fullsize truck, but also have some of the capability of a heavy-duty truck. The XD uses a fully boxed ladder frame, the chassis design from Nissan's commercial division, and the wheelbase is about 20 inches longer than other Titan models. The XD, which Nissan is calling the flagship of the line, will be the only model with the 5.0-liter Cummins turbodiesel V8. It produces 310 horsepower and 555 pound-feet of torque, while being able to tow 12,000 pounds. V6 and V8 gasoline models will also be offered on the Titan XD and the standard, non-XD model. When production ramps up, the Titan will be sold with several cabs, beds and trims. New features include trailer sway control, an integrated trailer brake controller, more storage options in the cabin and even laminated front and rear side glass to reduce outside noise. All of this has given Nissan fresh confidence in an area where it admittedly has been lacking. "We can compete," Diaz told Autoblog.
