1 Owner Rust Free Az 1983 Nissan 280zx 5 Spd Datsun Non Turbo Fairlady T Tops on 2040-cars
Tucson, Arizona, United States
1983 Datsun 280ZX T Tops Up for auction a nice clean unmolested 280ZX and if you are looking for a RUST FREE T TOP Z car, look no futher !! This is a 1 owner car, bought new here in Tucson Az back in 83 and has only had 1 owner its whole life. Its been well kept up by the original owner and in the last 10 yrs its been more of a 2nd car and mostly only used when they where in town which was only part of the yr. A binder full of invoices and receipts will come with the Z too showing almost all the work etc done over the yrs. Receipts from std oil changes to recent brake work and new injectors, back stuff done 10 yrs ago. The car shows aprox 116k which could be original The original owner kept pretty good records too that come with car. And its a nice original un restored Z. Which with a little interior work, would be a great car. Paint is original Az faded, but for a driver, its fine. The cars been a 2nd car for most of its life which explains the low miles which we think are original . Being an AZ CAR, this is a and always has been a rust free example what most people only wish they had for a 30 yr old Z. The chrome on both bumpers is in amazing shape. No pitting or rust - and they are straight on. Check out our feedback - feel comfortable buying from someone like us with GREAT large pics in our ads and GREAT FEEDBACK helping You be more comfortable to decide to bid on our cars. Ive been driving the car around now for the last week almost daily and it has plenty of power, starts and runs great every time and is a fun to drive esp with the T TOPS off. Its still a 30 yr old NON RESTORED original Z and that being said its a great weekend car or daily driver as is, and wouldnt take much to finish the restoration if you wanted. DRIVETRAIN: Original EFI L6 runs great with plenty of power in every gear. Non turbo model in my opinion like this car have less problems and plenty of power on hand. ALL stock - un molested just the way Nissan built it. This has been adult owned and driven its whole life. Some minor oil leaks you may expect for an older car but nothing leaving puddles or anything. Trans feels good and some recent work in the last few yrs has been: NEW CLUTCH KIT w/ machined flywheel / All 6 Injectors / and Front brakes too. I believe it to be the original, matching #s even motor. INTERIOR: Front seats AND Carpet where redone in the last few yrs and are NEW ! Some other areas are Showing their age from the Az sun over a 30 yr span but fine for a daily driver and would restore easily enough in a weekend. Interior shows nice as is, and wouldnt need alot to finish the restoration. But again, this is all cosmetic and you could drive the car like this for more yrs if you wanted to. Glass is good, but the inside glass needs a good cleaning. Window tint is old could use replacing soon. AC all connected and worked last summer, but quit blowing cold this yr. Heater core started to leak a few yrs ago and is bypassed for now. Most people in Az rarely use the heat anyway in our cars. Car may not come with the radio shown in pics. It will come with original radio shown in the pics but it wont be installed, seeing as most people want to put in their own radio / stereo preference. So there will be a hole where the stock radio goes when the car shows up. I just havent had time to take the aftermarket CD player yet. IF you want me to leave it in, email me if you win the car and we can work out something. SUSPENSION: Mostly all stock original down to the OE alloy rims Feels good, but Im sure it will need some bushings if you looked hard. But no weird noises, rear struts are NEW KYB. Tires decent, but nothing special. Some brake work recent. (We also are a tire dealer, so if you want a new set of tires installed on the car before taking delivery, let us know what you want and we can price it out for you, installed.) BODY: Really nice shape for its age. A few small dents and dings here and there, but some are so small they are hard to see in the pics. If you look close you can see a few dents on the pass side. 1 on the door and a crease on the RF fender. Hard to see in the pics. Ft valance is in decent shape. I do know the front clip was repainted in the last few yrs prob just from sun damage and age, but not sure exactly why. All the areas where the fenders meet the aprons look good and dont see any signs of previous damage or accidents. The rear license plate light is missing in the pics, but thats how we got it. I did buy a good used one for the car, just havent installed it yet. Ill do it this week and add a pic of it . As is you could drive it to local car events and the car would still draw a crowd. DO NOT BID UNLESS YOU ARE A REAL BUYER IF YOU HAVE LOW FEEDBACK AND ARE BIDDING PLEASE EMAIL US TO LET US KNOW YOU ARE LEGIT. NO EMAIL AND WE CAN CANCEL YOUR BID This car looks awesome in pics and even in person it looks great, but they always look nicer in pics. Not to take anything away from the car, but keep in mind its NOT a restored Z and does have some cosmetic flaws hard to see in the pics. EMAIL WITH ANY QUESTIONS PLEASE THE PICS BELOW SPEAK VOLUMES but Im sure I may of overlooked some stuff. This is our 3rd Z car in the last month we just sold here on Ebay, and I think our last one for a while. Cars this nice are getting so much harder to find. Check out over 140+ pics below, be patient it may take a minute for them to all load depending on your connection. Reasonable Reserve / which can be lowered too if we want to at anytime during the auction. Bid Early and bid smart so you dont lose out !! ALL THE PICS BELOW ARE OF THE ACTUAL CAR YOU ARE BIDDING ON AND TAKEN LAST WEEK / in SUN and SHADE

Infiniti's new VC-T changes the rules of small turbocharged engines
Sun, Aug 14 2016The upcoming Infiniti QX50 crossover does not get our pulse racing, no matter how shapely the QX Sport Inspiration concept that previews it may be. No midsize SUV does, to be fair. But it has something special under the hood – the world's first production variable-compression-ratio engine. That means the QX50's 2.0-liter turbo four, which makes 268 horsepower and 288 pound-feet of torque, will have up to 27 percent better fuel economy. Here's how it works. The trend of moving to smaller, turbocharged engines carries with it one big falsehood. Under low load when the turbo isn't needed, these engines are less efficient than an equivalent engine without a turbo because of the low compression ratio the turbo requires. That is, if you never need the extra power, you're wasting fuel. Turbocharged (and supercharged) engines use a lower compression ratio to prevent detonation. When you force extra air in a cylinder and mix it with fuel, it's more likely to prematurely go boom. Lowering the compression ratio prevents this problem, but it's less efficient. Infiniti's VC-T promises the best of both worlds, with a compression ratio that ranges from 8.0:1 for high-power turbo needs to a 14.0:1 ratio for fuel-sipping efficiency. At its heart the VC-T engine is a simple idea, but it's complicated to explain. Consider yourself warned. The photo below from Infiniti serves as a good visual overview. For the truly nerdy, this patent application covers the mechanical concept. Instead of having the pistons connected to the crankshaft, Infiniti's engine has a pivot arm with a connection on each end. One end connects to the piston, the other connects to a second lower shaft, which is controlled by an actuator arm. At any given time the engine's pistons move up and down according to the lobes on the crankshaft. But the actuator arm can change the angle of the pivot arm up and down. That is, the pistons still move in the same motion with the same stroke, but phase the entire stroke up or down. Move the pivot up and there's less room at the top, which means a higher compression ratio. Move the pivot down and the compression ratio goes down, too. As an added bonus, the lower shaft eliminates the need for counter-rotating balance shafts. Infiniti says this system works constantly and can vary the compression ratio to any number between 8:1 and 14:1. It also uses electronic variable valve timing on the intake valves to switch into Atkinson-cycle combustion for greater efficiency.
Datsun reveals new On-Do budget sedan in Russia [w/video]
Tue, 08 Apr 2014When Nissan revived the Datsun brand name, it essentially hit the "undo" button on the rebranding it undertook decades ago. But this time, the Datsun name is being used solely as a budget brand for developing markets. The reborn marque launched in India this past July with its Go hatchback, returned in September with the Go+ minivan and revealed the Redi-Go concept just last month. And now it's back again with the new On-Do sedan.
Launched in Moscow by CEO Carlos Ghosn, the On-Do was designed and engineered in Japan specifically for the Russian market - Nissan's fifth largest worldwide - where it will be built at the AvtoVaz plant in Togliatti. Decidedly budget-oriented, the Datsun On-Do is a four-door, five-seat econo-box measuring 172 inches long, 67 inches wide and 60 inches tall with an 18.7 cubic-foot trunk which Datsun describes as class-leading. Punctuating an otherwise bland shape is a large front grille and lighting front and rear that looks (and very well might be) bigger than the wheels.
Not that the Datsun On-Do needs a big contact patch to transfer power to the road: motivation is provided by a 1.6-liter engine with a grand total of - wait for it... wait a little longer - 87 horsepower. Which might strike you as a reasonable amount of muscle, considering the 400,000 rubles Datsun is getting for the On-Do (but consider that translates to about $11,300). That's a couple grand more than what Nissan gets for the Micra in that other giant northern country, or about the same amount it gets for the Versa in the US (which sells in Russia for 499k in rubles) - both of which are powered by what is in all likelihood the same 1.6-liter four but producing 109 hp. Of course Russia has different tax rates than the United States or Canada, but with such little power, the Datsun would fall into Russia's lowest tax bracket.
Recharge Wrap-up: Rimac Concept One vs. Bugatti Veyron, Tesla Autpoilot in the snow
Thu, Dec 29 2016Watch the Rimac Concept_One and the Bugatti Veyron drive head-to-head along the Croatian coast. Rimac Automobili founder Mate Rimac invited the Earl of Pembroke to drive his 1,088-horsepower EV, while he'd drive Lord Pembroke's Bugatti for comparison. Besides the scenic coastal roads shown in this first film, the pair also drove on a racetrack and an airfield. More episodes – and a drag race – are to come. Watch the video above, and read more at Teslarati. Watch how Tesla Autosteer operates in the snow at night, with no lane markings and no lead vehicle. While Tesla doesn't recommend using Autopilot in these conditions, it seems to manage rather well. Even thought the system shows that it doesn't always recognize the curb, the car doesn't instruct the driver to take control. It's possible that data plays a key role when there aren't other guiding factors on the road, and Tesla's high resolution mapping and the car's GPS could help navigate when there is little sensor input. See the video and read more at Electrek. Andromeda Power shows how a Nissan Leaf rescue car can charge a Tesla Model S. Andromeda Power uses its V2V Orca Inceptive onboard charger, which is meant for CHAdeMO to CHAdeMO charging. It requires a lot of equipment, including a CHAdeMO Tesla adapter, but it's definitely one way to feed a Tesla enough juice to get to the nearest charging station. Read more at Inside EVs. Hyundai increase the range of its Tucson Fuel Cell by 30 percent. The next generation of the hydrogen powered Hyundai is expected in early 2018, and range will jump from 265 miles on a full tank to 348 miles. That surpasses the Toyota Mirai's 312-mile range, but not the 366 miles of the Honda Clarity Fuel Cell. Read more at Green Car Reports, or from the Nikkei Asian Review.
