Super Clean, Well Maintained and Very Rare
240sx Convertible With S13 Silvia Conversion For Sale
(Over $20,000 Invested!)

If you're looking for a babied 240sx from the S13 years (89 to 93) ... and ... you want the even more rare convertible model (in good condition!) ...

If you want an already completed SR20DET, 5-speed conversion -- done RIGHT -- so you don't have to worry about reliability ...

And if you want it all in a clean, almost "show car" package -- that's been garage kept from the first day it was built and only seen the rain less than a handful of times ...

You won't find a deal like this anywhere else!

The very first time I saw this 240sx for sale, I knew I had found something special. I drove over 4 hours to Pennsylvania just to go take a look at this car and what I found was better than I even expected!

First off, the original 1993 convertible that was built into this beauty was in great condition. It was bought right there in PA from a Nissan dealership according to the CARFAX.

(That's also explains why there isn't a bit of rust on this car -- because it never saw serious snow or other bad weather like most Northern cars)

According to the CARFAX there was only one minor front-end accident back in 2003 and everything else checks out beautifully.

And boy was this car babied: it's exactly 20 years old and in all the previous owners (including me!) it's had barely over 5,000 miles put on it each year!

That's 75% LESS Mileage Than This Car Should Have!

And it gets even better ...

Sometime between 2003 and 2010, a talented car love (a mechanic by trade) purchased this cared-for vehicle and decided to turn it into a beautiful show style, S13 convertible!

The guy I bought the car from reported that the original car lover sunk over $20,000 into this already great condition 1993 Nissan 240sx Convertible.

That's even better for you, because it's common knowledge that most Japanese Import Motors (like the SR20DET used in this build) have less than 100,000 miles on them ...

Which means, not only does the "Shell" or body of this car have very low miles ... the motor has even LESS!

Speaking of the SR20DET full conversion ... here's a list of the amazing transformation this car experienced ...

And all that before I even got my hands on the car!

And boy did I love this car.

In fact, I had owned two 240sx hatchbacks before and always wanted to customize them but never had the money.

My dream build would of been taking the cleanest 240sx convertible I could find ... tearing it apart and rebuilding it all back the way I wanted ... with only hand-selected parts and the maximum attention to detail ...

And here it was all done for me!

Here's something else unique ...

Before I got it, it never saw the rain!

Yes, the guy I bought it from kept it in his garage, 5 days a week and only took it out on the weekends and NEVER if it was raining!

Once I got it, I pretty much followed the same pattern. It was my daily driver for a short while, but I work from home, so that's why I never put many miles on it.

And I only got caught in the rain a few times, and drove it home as fast as I could. I can literally count on both my hands how many times it has seen the rain in my possession (and it shows).

After a while, I started wondering what I could do to make this car even better ...

I decided to make it even faster :)

I Put An Additional $3,000 Into Upgrading The Turbo System and Tuning It!

It started with an ISIS Turbo Upgrade Package ... and then I added a AEM EMS Universal Standalone Engine Management System and had it all installed and professionally tuned by Adrenaline Autowerks of Richmond VA.

Now, it has 298 hp to the wheels!

Here's the dyno graph from Adrenaline:

Plus, Ice Cold Air Conditioning WITH Turbo Power?

Depending on your experience with modified cars, you may or may not know how rare it is to find a modified car with a swapped, more powerful engine, that still has working Air Conditioning ...

And it's even more rare for that car to be turbocharged and still pump out ice cold AC ...

Heck, I drove a 3 year newer Honda Accord that had broken air conditioning. So the AC in this car is really nice.

Plus, it still has power steering too :)

Take a Look At The Included Pics!*

*These pics were taken before I bought the car. The car looks the same minus the bomex lip on the front bumper.

What's the catch? Here Are The Blemishes:

Now, I want to make sure that you don't have any surprises. (No car is perfect and this one is no exception.)

For one, because of the new engine and turbo kit, there isn't much room in the engine bay for a regular battery, so you'll have to buy and use smaller tractor batteries. And that's not really a big deal unless you let the battery go dead because you don't drive the car very often (happened to me a lot since I keep the car in the garage most of the time!)

And it is rather low ... so if you have a steep driveway ... just like any lowered vehicle, you're going to have to be extra careful when driving it.

Then there are the racing seats -- they're very supportive, but you should be aware they're not as easy to get in and out of as regular "no support" car seats.

There are a few scratches here and there. NOTHING major. But this was my daily driver for a short time (again, I work from home, so it didn't get a lot of use, but it isn't a flawless show car!)

WHAT ABOUT THE ROOF?!

Someone asked about the roof and what kind of condition it's in, because I apparently didn't list it last time I ran this ad, here's the deal:

For the age of the car, the cloth convertible roof is in very good shape. It goes up and down fine, like it's supposed to. I did notice in the handful of times that I took the car out in the rain (more like got caught in the rain trying to drive it out of the rain!) that there is a little bit of leaking on the drivers side roof/where the window closes.

So the bottom line: the roof is in good condition for the year of the car, I never took it out in the rain much, but when I did get caught in the rain -- there was a bit of leaking there -- nothing major but I never took it out in the rain if I could avoid it.

One last thing: the seat belts sometimes "stick" and it's hard to adjust them to a longer or tighter fit -- it feels like they get stuck. They worked when I used to drive it as my daily driver and I believe it's a simple manual fix, but you might have to do it yourself a few times.

If you can live with the "unique" changes that come with having a modified vehicle though (or you don't mind at all!) then this is the car for you.

So how much for this one-of-a-kind 240sx?

You already know that this car, from the day it was bought, has been babied and driven 1/3rd the amount of normal cars ... less than 6,000 miles per YEAR ...

And you know it was bought by a certified car nut who treated it with further meticulous care and spent over $20,000 converting it into the beautiful S13 Silvia Convertible with SR20DET it is now ...

And, of course, you know I bought it and treated it with love and attention -- even upgraded the turbo and sinking in $3,000 + more dollars so it pumps out 298 real wheel horsepower ...

So while it's easily worth $23,000+ ...

... I'm not asking anywhere near that.

I believe $9,900 $8,900 cash is a fair asking price

That said, I'm willing to listen to your offer, but please don't insult me with very low ball offers.

What about trades?

I really have no idea what car I want to replace this with. So at this time just looking for a cash sale

Truth is: I didn't really want to sell my baby, but it seems like the smart thing to do (my family is growing!) and I figured I'd put it out there for the world to see.

Let me sweeten the deal a little!

There's some other things that I'm going to throw in to make this a great deal for you ...

>> I have a Nissan Brand full car cover that I'll throw in with the car, this will keep the dust off it, or if you (God Forbid!!!) keep the car outside -- you can cover it with this.

>> I also have a can of what looks like the special lime green paint -- if you ever need to have a body shop (or yourself) do a touchup/repair to the paint job

>> I'm also throwing in an assorted box of different car parts that came with the car, mostly just the boxes the old GREDDY equipment came in, but at least you'll have it for yourself.

>> Any of the original chip or computer parts that were replaced by the new turbo kit and engine management system (that I can find) I will throw in with the car -- you could sell them for extra cash (I never got around to doing it though) ...

Hurry! Before I change my mind!

Seriously, I'm about to move to a new place and I figured I'd just try and sell my baby first ... but I'm definitely not in a HURRY to get rid of her, so I might take this post down if I don't get a great offer right away, lol.

I really do love this car, the way it looks, the stance, the way it sounds ... and most of all ... the way it pulls when you stomp the gas and the turbo spools up!

It's super fun to drive and I've loved every minute of owning this car.

Maybe it's time for you to enjoy it too.

Make me an offer!

SHIPPING: If you need to ship, it will be at your expense

TERMS OF SALE: Cash only please, will provide bill of sale.

Here's how to follow this weekend's 24 Hours of Le Mans

Thu, Jun 11 2015

In the pantheon of motorsports, the 24 Hours of Le Mans stands as one of the great endurance challenges to man and machine. This year's event in France already looks to be one for the ages with Porsche setting record-breaking times in practice and the competition debut of Nissan's front-engine, hybrid racer. Thankfully, there's a massive list of ways to follow this automotive attraction. Reilly Brennan, the Executive Director of the Revs Automotive Research Program at Stanford University, and a friend of Autoblog, has once again assembled a helpful couch-kit to organize many of the options. Unfortunately, the old-school way of just turning on the television might be the most frustrating way to watch Le Mans this year. Fox Sports 1 and 2 are carrying about half the race, but the coverage bounces between them seemingly at random. The broadcast begins on Fox Sports 2 at 8:30 AM Eastern ahead of the 9:00 AM start and lasts there until 12:00 PM. Things don't pick up again until 7:00 PM Eastern on Fox Sports 1 for an hour, and the channels swap back and forth more from there. The Fox Sports Go streaming app offers more, but even it stops showing the race a few times. Thankfully, streaming Le Mans is easy. If you can't dedicate 24-hours on the couch, Radio Le Mans lets you listen to audio commentary anywhere with some of the best announcers in the biz. The Automobile Club de l'Ouest, the governing body for the race, also offers an official video stream in an app for $9.99. For a really low-tech solution, the official Twitter is another choice. Brennan is keeping his list updated with coverage changes. You can also check out and download the spotter's guide (from Nissan) in the gallery above. Enjoy this year's race. If you miss anything, don't worry; expect a full report from Autoblog. In fact, editor-in-chief Mike Austin is attending Le Mans this year, so follow him on Twitter for on-the-fly impressions. Weekly Recap: New bosses try to jump-start Cadillac and Lincoln

Sat, 26 Jul 2014

Both of America's domestic luxury brands seem to be stuck in neutral.
It's ironic that Cadillac and Lincoln got new bosses within days of each other this month. It's also a commentary on the fact both of America's domestic luxury brands seem to be stuck in neutral.

Sunday Drive: Big debuts from the Big Apple dominated the headlines

Sun, Apr 1 2018

New York Auto Show week has come and gone, and, not surprisingly, the week's biggest bits of news came from the halls of the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in NYC. Our favorite debut from New York was the Lincoln Aviator, a sharp-dresses crossover that looks lovely inside and out, and sits on underpinnings at least partly derived from the Ford Mustang. While the Aviator may have caught our attention, it wasn't the most popular vehicle debut from New York, at least when judging by the number of page views here on Autoblog. That distinction goes to the 2019 Toyota RAV4, and we're hardly surprised. The RAV4 is the most popular compact crossover in America (in fact it's the most popular vehicle that isn't a pickup truck), and the 2019 version looks like a radical departure from the model that came before. We can't wait to drive the thing. Midsize sedans may not be the darling of the family car set, that honor taken over by the aforementioned crossover, but they still sell in large enough numbers that a brand-new model catches our attention. Such is the case with the 2019 Nissan Altima. We broke down the specs of the Altima and compared Nissan's bread-and-butter sedan with its biggest rivals. And finally, we got some official figures for the 2019 Ford Mustang Bullitt. It'll cost a cool $12,000 over the cost of a Mustang GT, and will benefit from a 480-horsepower, 420-pound-foot version of Ford's excellent 5.0-liter V8 engine. As always, stay tuned this week for all the latest automotive news that's fit to print. 2018 New York Auto Show Mega Photo Gallery | Start spreading the news 2019 Toyota RAV4 actually looks pretty cool 2019 Nissan Altima vs Honda Accord vs Toyota Camry: How they compare 2019 Mustang Bullitt orders open as Ford reveals price and horsepower Image Credit: Drew Angerer/Getty New York Auto Show Ford Lincoln Nissan Toyota Coupe Crossover SUV Sedan 2018 new york auto show
