Used 2003 Mitsubishi Lancer Evo on 2040-cars
Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania, United States
Item
Used 2003 Mitsubishi Lancer EVO. Approx. 70k miles. Rebuilt engine has less than 1,000 miles on it. Too many upgrades to list. Here are some I can recall:
Stock cat installed - to pass emissions. Includes OEM ENKEI wheels as well as a complete 2nd set of SSR lightweight racing wheels (see pic). Condition I have clear PA title in hand. Car has valid PA inspection and registration. It has small oil and coolant leak. It lived most of life in Phoenix, AZ. Very little rust. Power windows, door locks - everything works. Bone stock interior and exterior (has dark window tint). Interior is in great shape - no tears or stains. Exterior has various scrapes and scratches - no dents. Although this car is inspected and runs fine - it's a project car! I don't consider it a daily-driver. If you don't know what a project car is, don't bid! If you expect to be driving this car to work, don't bid! Auction This is a true eBay auction: $1 start price, no reserve! I have been an eBay seller for 16+ years. I have 450+ feedback, 100% positive. No games or tricks. Payment $500 down payment via PayPal due within 24-hours of auction end. Balance due within 7 days. If you do not have a PayPal account, don't bid! If you do not have the cash to purchase, don't bid! Shipping I have a car hauler and will deliver within 150 miles of Pittsburgh, PA. Otherwise, buyer is responsible for pickup / shipping arrangements. On May-06-14 at 04:56:06 PDT, seller added the following information: EDIT 5/6/14 @ 7:54 AM EST Forgot to mention: Air conditioner does not blow cold. Condenser was punctured while removing engine, lost refrigerant. However, BRAND NEW CONDENSER INCLUDED IN AUCTION! I have just not installed it. Easy install, but have to drain coolant and remove rad. |

Consumer Reports says these are the worst new cars of 2014
Thu, 27 Feb 2014Consumer Reports has announced its annual list of worst vehicles, a cringe-inducing contrast to its list of top vehicles. Ignominiously leading the way in 2014 is Chrysler, which has a staggering seven models listed.
Jeep nearly sweeps the small SUV segment by itself, with its Compass, Patriot and 2.4-liter version of the new Cherokee, while the only midsize sedans listed by CR were the Chrysler 200 and Dodge Avenger. The new Dodge Dart and the Dodge Journey round out CR's condemnation of Chrysler.
Ford is taking heat as well, with the Taurus, Edge and their counterparts from Lincoln all listed as the worst vehicles in their respective segments. Toyota doesn't fare much better, with its Lexus IS, Scion iQ and tC also making the list.
Mitsubishi developing new standalone hybrid Evo successor
Mon, 16 Dec 2013Mention the name Mitsubishi to different people and you'll likely get two startling different images. Environmentalists will focus on the company's strides in developing EVs, while performance enthusiasts will point you toward the Lancer Evolution. The prevailing wisdom was that Mitsubishi would cancel the latter to concentrate on the former, but the latest intel suggests that the two will be reconciled with a new Evo around the corner.
Although Mitsubishi is reportedly working to streamline its lineup from 23 models on 12 different platforms to 13 models on 7 by 2016, the next Evo will stand as an exception. Like Subaru did with the formerly Impreza-based WRX (or for that matter Nissan with the formerly Skyline-based GT-R), the new Evo won't have anything to do with the next Lancer, which itself will be based on a Renault-Nissan platform.
On that unique platform, Mitsubishi is likely to install a small direct-injection turbo engine (potentially a diesel) that could be based on the 1.1-liter, three-cylinder turbo engine in the XR-PHEV concept we saw in Tokyo, supplemented by small electric motors with lightweight batteries and driving all four wheels through an enhanced version of the company's Super All-Wheel Control system. As to whether the Evo name will carry over, that remains to be seen, but if these reports prove accurate, its spirit could very much live on.
Watch Mitsubishi break the EV record at Pikes Peak
Wed, 09 Jul 2014Take a listen folks - you're hearing the eventual future of motorsports. This is Greg Tracy and the Mitsubishi MiEV Evolution III as they assault the treacherous course at Pikes Peak in just 9:08.188.
This run is significant for a number of reasons. As we recapped in our Pikes Peak finale post, Tracy's run was a mere two seconds off the best overall time at this year's event, snagging him and Mitsubishi second place overall, as well as first in the Electric Modified class and the fourth fastest time ever recorded. Perhaps more importantly, though, Tracy thoroughly trounced the previous EV record at Pikes Peak, beating the legendary Nobuhiro "Monster" Tajima's 2013 best of 9:46.530.
It's an impressive feat, and now you can experience the whole run from as near a first-person viewpoint as you're going to get. Scroll down and have a look.
