Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 8 Buschur Racing 2.3l Fp Black 500whp Fully Built on 2040-cars
Watertown, Connecticut, United States
|
Up For sale is my fully built 2003 Lancer Evolution VIII. The car was built by a very reputable shop called DynoTech Tuning in Seekonk Mass and I have every receipt for every modification ever done to this car. There is less then 2000 miles on the new motor, transmission, transfer case, turbo and almost all the rest of the mods that were done there. There is roughly $35,000 worth of mods done to this car including labor/tuning.
If you have any questions about the car dont hesitate to call/text me at 203-592-4998 (If I don't answer please leave a message and I will get back to you) Good: -Made 487whp on a mustang dyno, which is equal too 550whp to a dynojet dyno on 93 octane. -No rust! Car is located in Connecticut but has never seen snow. I have always garaged it during the winter and waited for the sand and salt to clear before Ive taken it back out on the road. -Very reliable built car (Buschur Racing / GSC longblock), only the best parts used (sparktech, ets, tial, aem, buschur, gsc etc etc) -Handles like a dream with the wider tires (1.5 inch wider then stock) and the 8k/10k fa500 coilovers. Car is an all around car you can take it to the road courses and do well or to the strip and run 10s/11s all day. -Car was built to handle a lot more power (stage 2 shepard transfer case, QM 8 leg clutch) So if you wanted to tune for e85/meth you could easily make 150 more whp and the car would be able to handle it no problem. Bad: -No headliner, no trunk liner -Plastic interior pieces are not installed (B pillar and C pillar) but will be included with the purchase of the car -Rear seat belts not installed (included with the purchase of the car) -Carbon Fiber hood has heat damage (very minor, not noticeable unless close up) -Few dings/rock chips (roof has a minor bend in it from the installation of the carbon fiber sunroof insert and the front bumper has some damage that you cannot see unless your looking from underneath the car) If you have any questions about the car please email me at QuickSilverEvo8@yahoo.com. Car is sold as is. Idle and Walk Around! Ex-Green Beret arrested in Ghosn's escape has lived a life of danger
Thu, May 21 2020This Dec. 30, 2019, image from security camera video shows Michael L. Taylor, center, and George-Antoine Zayek at passport control at Istanbul Airport in Turkey. Taylor, a former Green Beret, and his son, Peter Taylor, 27, were arrested Wednesday in Massachusetts on charges they smuggled Nissan ex-Chairman Carlos Ghosn out of Japan in a box in December 2019, while he awaited trial there on financial misconduct charges. / AP  Decades before a security camera caught Michael Taylor coming off a jet that was carrying one of the world’s most-wanted fugitives, the former Green Beret had a hard-earned reputation for taking on dicey assignments. Over the years, Taylor had been hired by parents to rescue abducted children. He went undercover for the FBI to sting a Massachusetts drug gang. And he worked as a military contractor in Iraq and Afghanistan, an assignment that landed him in a Utah jail in a federal fraud case. So when Taylor was linked to the December escape of former Nissan CEO Carlos Ghosn from Japan, where the executive awaited trial on financial misconduct charges, some in U.S. military and legal circles immediately recognized the name. Taylor has “gotten himself involved in situations that most people would never even think of, dangerous situations, but for all the right reasons,” Paul Kelly, a former federal prosecutor in Boston who has known the security consultant since the early 1990s, said earlier this year. “Was I surprised when I read the story that he may have been involved in what took place in Japan? No, not at all.” Wednesday, after months as fugitives, Taylor, 59, and his son, Peter, 27, were arrested in Massachusetts on charges accusing them of hiding Ghosn in a shipping case drilled with air holes and smuggling him out of Japan on a chartered jet. Investigators were still seeking George-Antoine Zayek, a Lebanese-born colleague of Taylor. “He is the most all-American man I know,” TaylorÂ’s assistant, Barbara Auterio, wrote to a federal judge before his sentencing in 2015. “His favorite song is the national anthem.” Kelly, now serving as the attorney for the Taylors, said they plan to challenge JapanÂ’s extradition request “on several legal and factual grounds.” “Michael Taylor is a distinguished veteran and patriot, and both he and his son deserve a full and fair hearing regarding these issues,” Kelly said in an email.
Mitsubishi rolls out new Triton pickup [w/videos]
Tue, 18 Nov 2014Of all the automakers producing pickup trucks these days, even among just the Japanese automakers, Mitsubishi might not spring to mind first. But maybe it should. The Diamond-Star company has been in the game now for 36 years, selling over four million pickups around the world. These days that comes down principally to the Triton, of which it sold over a third of a million units last year alone for a total of over 1.2 million produced since its introduction in 2005. Now, after nine years on the market, Mitsubishi has launched a new version.
Clearly drawing its stylistic influence (if not the hybrid powertrain) from the GR-HEV concept Mitsubishi showcased at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show, the new Triton aims to combine "the comfortable interior of a passenger car with the functionality and reliability of a pickup." It's more stylish, more comfortable and safer than the model it replaces, and comes in an array of configurations.
Buyers of the new Triton (known in some markets as the L200, among other nameplates it's worn over the years) will be able to choose between Single, Double and Club Cab variants. Powertrain choices will vary by market, but will be based around three engines: a 2.4-liter gasoline unit, a 2.5-liter turbodiesel and a new 2.4-liter turbodiesel with electronic valve timing.
Mitsubishi reports an 89% drop in annual profit
Tue, May 19 2020TOKYO — Mitsubishi will focus on cutting fixed costs by 20% or more in the next two years after reporting an 89% drop in annual profit, its weakest performance in three years, and skipping its year-end dividend. The coronavirus crisis has exacerbated Mitsubishi's struggles in a year where Japan's sixth biggest carmaker was already battling falling sales in China and also southeast Asia, its largest market which accounts for one-quarter of sales. Mitsubishi also said on Tuesday it would focus on growth in ASEAN countries to survive the aftermath of the pandemic. "Before the virus we had been mulling which underperforming regions and vehicle segments to cut our exposure to," CEO Takao Kato told a results teleconference. "In the wake of the virus, we need to pick up the pace of making these changes. To stay competitive in a post-coronavirus market, we need to immediately shrink our area of focus to regions and segments in which we excel." Global automakers are struggling to cope with the crisis, which has pummeled car sales due to lockdowns in many countries. Many automakers have begun to restart vehicle factories, but anemic demand, supply chain disruptions and social distancing measures at factories are expected to limit output. Mitsubishi's operating profit came in at 12.8 billion yen ($119.21 million) for the year to end March, down from 111.8 billion yen a year ago, and its lowest since the year to end March 2017. Profits exceeded a consensus estimate of 9.4 billion yen profit drawn from 15 analysts polled by Refinitiv. The automaker did not give an earnings forecast for the current business year, and did not issue a year-end dividend, compared with 10 yen per share a year ago. The junior member of the automaking partnership between Nissan and France's Renault, sold 1.13 million vehicles globally in the year ended March, down 9%. Mitsubishi will focus on growth in southeast Asia as part of the alliance's plan for each company to expand in their regions of strength. Mitsubishi said it would give more details when it reports first-quarter results. The alliance is expected to announce a revamped strategy on May 27, when it will pledge to increase cooperation to improve joint operations to remain competitive.
