2009 Mitsubishi Lancer De Sedan 4-door 2.0l on 2040-cars
Ames, Iowa, United States
Please Read the Instruction Carefully:
1. The usage of the vehicle: I am the student from ISU, and I owned this vehicle last year in September. I loved this vehicle but since my father bought me a better one as birthday present, I decided to sell this one. I drove this car for 1 year of 8000 miles, and every 2000 miles one maintenance. If requested, I can acquire all of the maintenance reports, and absolutely NO BIG ACCIDENT on my vehicle. The most obvious feature of this vehicle is LOW GAS CONSUMPTION, since its engine is 2.0L exhausting, and I drive with MPG of 21 city and 28 highway (possibly over 30 on freeway if constant driving); 2. Vehicle situation: a. My vehicle works well. There is one tire pressure sensor that does not work, so to fix this, I will offer a new after-market tire sensor for free. Or if I have time or request, I can go to tire shop to have it fix. Besides this, everything works well. b. There are some parts I have modified (body only), that I will list all of them here (modification is due to decoration): - The after-marketing spoiler; - The 4 wheels including both tires and rims; - The front headlights; c. You will also see some rust on my brake rotor. I don't think this influence the car brake effect since it contains two front disc brake and two rear drum brake, I feel really good while driving. 3. Buyer notification: a. In order to ensure good quality, I recommend direct deposit first, and then privately pay me the rest if you decide to buy it, so I can have time to give the vehicle a wash and a maintenance (probably fix the sensor), that are all free. you can talk to me as well if you request me to do something on the vehicle for free, but only when bought. b. Shipping fee is cost by buyer. so I suggest the nearby buyer to come locally and see the vehicle, so you can not only take a look, but also test drive to give a true feeling. 4. Contact & consulting: You can contact me if you are interested in this vehicle, asking questions regarding vehicle, payments. My contact information is (choose either of them): - Email: ebay contacting; - Phone: 5158173175; |

Mitsubishi recalls Mirage in snowy states for airbag delay
Sun, Dec 20 2015The Basics: Mitsubishi is recalling 25,185 examples of the 2014-2015 Mirage, built between August 7, 2013, and September 2, 2015, sold or ever registered in states that use salt to melt ice on the road during the winter months. Those include Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and the District of Columbia. The Problem: Snow with road salt tracked in on boots could cause a wiring connector to short out behind a kick panel next to the driver's footrest, potentially delaying the deployment of the front airbags. Injuries/Deaths: None reported. The fix: Mitsubishi dealers are being instructed to inspect the electrical connectors, replace any corroded ones, and fit a waterproof sheet to prevent any further corrosion. No timeframe has been set as of yet. If you own one: Try not to track in too much snow. Watch out for the SRS warning light on the dashboard, which will alert you if there's a problem with the airbags. Expect to hear from Mitsubishi Motors North America in due course to arrange for your vehicle to be checked out at a local dealer. Related Video: RECALL Subject : Air Bag Deployment may be Delayed due to Corrosion Report Receipt Date: DEC 04, 2015 NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V815000 Component(s): AIR BAGS , ELECTRICAL SYSTEM All Products Associated with this Recall Manufacturer: Mitsubishi Motors North America, Inc. SUMMARY: Mitsubishi Motors North America, Inc. (MMNA) is recalling certain model year 2014-2015 Mitsubishi Mirage vehicles manufactured August 7, 2013, to September 2, 2015 and originally sold in, or ever registered in, Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and District of Columbia. If the driver enters an affected vehicle with their boots covered with snow mixed with road salt, the melting snow may soak through the carpet and cause corrosion to a wiring connector located in a junction box behind a kick panel to the left of the driver's footrest. CONSEQUENCE: In the event of a crash, corrosion of the connector could delay deployment of the frontal air bags, increasing the risk of injury to the driver and the front seat passenger.
Brand new cars are being sold with defective Takata airbags
Wed, Jun 1 2016If you just bought a 2016 Audi TT, 2017 Audi R8, 2016–17 Mitsubishi i-MiEV, or 2016 Volkswagen CC, we have some unsettling news for you. A report provided to a US Senate committee that oversees the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and reported on by Automotive News claims these vehicles were sold with defective Takata airbags. And it gets worse. Toyota and FCA are called out in the report for continuing to build vehicles that will need to be recalled down the line for the same issue. That's not all. The report also states that of the airbags that have been replaced already in the Takata recall campaign, 2.1 million will need to eventually be replaced again. They don't have the drying agent that prevents the degradation of the ammonium nitrate, which can lead to explosions that can destroy the airbag housing and propel metal fragments at occupants. So these airbags are out there already. We're not done yet. There's also a stockpile of about 580,000 airbags waiting to be installed in cars coming in to have their defective airbags replaced. These 580k airbags also don't have the drying agent. They'll need to be replaced down the road, too. A new vehicle with a defective Takata airbag should be safe to drive, but that margin of safety decreases with time. If all this has you spinning around in a frustrated, agitated mess, there's a silver lining that is better than it sounds. So take a breath, run your fingers through your hair, and read on. Our best evidence right now demonstrates that defective Takata airbags – those without the drying agent that prevents humidity from degrading the ammonium nitrate propellant – aren't dangerous yet. It takes a long period of time combined with high humidity for them to reach the point where they can rupture their housing and cause serious injury. It's a matter of years, not days. So a new vehicle with a defective Takata airbag should be safe to drive, but that margin of safety decreases with time – and six years seems to be about as early as the degradation happens in the worst possible scenario. All this is small comfort for the millions of people who just realized their brand-new car has a time bomb installed in the wheel or dashboard, or the owners who waited patiently to have their airbags replaced only to discover that the new airbag is probably defective in the same way (although newer and safer!) as the old one.
Watch Mitsubishi break the EV record at Pikes Peak
Wed, 09 Jul 2014Take a listen folks - you're hearing the eventual future of motorsports. This is Greg Tracy and the Mitsubishi MiEV Evolution III as they assault the treacherous course at Pikes Peak in just 9:08.188.
This run is significant for a number of reasons. As we recapped in our Pikes Peak finale post, Tracy's run was a mere two seconds off the best overall time at this year's event, snagging him and Mitsubishi second place overall, as well as first in the Electric Modified class and the fourth fastest time ever recorded. Perhaps more importantly, though, Tracy thoroughly trounced the previous EV record at Pikes Peak, beating the legendary Nobuhiro "Monster" Tajima's 2013 best of 9:46.530.
It's an impressive feat, and now you can experience the whole run from as near a first-person viewpoint as you're going to get. Scroll down and have a look.
