For Sale: 2003 Mitsubishi Lancer Rally Edition. Very well taken care of, has never been in an accident, and has had the following repairs done within the past 3 months to prepare for the sale:
New Front Tires New Brakes/Brake Pads New Brake Rotors New Front Struts New Steering Rod Transmission Flushed Has some minor dents from a hail storm on the front hood and a couple scratches, but all cosmetic. The only issue I did not fix is the sunroof; it is stuck in the closed and sealed position. I am the second owner, and I purchased the car in 2008 with 90,000 miles on it. The current odometer reads at 182,850 miles. Has a custom stereo deck with an audio cable so you can listen to music through your MP3 player or cell phone. The blue book value on this car is $2,900, but I took $300 off the price due to the sunroof. |

Mitsubishi planning three all-new concepts for Tokyo show
Tue, 08 Oct 2013Even with new models like the 2014 Outlander and Mirage in its stable, Mitsubishi could sure use a little excitement injected into its lineup. Fortunately, it looks like a trio of concepts headed to the Tokyo Motor Show could finally help spark some enthusiasm for the troubled automaker.
All we have to go on right now is a pair of teaser images for the three concepts, but it does reveal a possible new design language for Mitsubishi. The Concept GC-PHEV (shown above) is a fullsize, plug-in utility vehicle, and it could very well be a harbinger of the Montero/Pajero replacement that we heard about earlier this year. Mitsubishi will also unveil a compact plug-in crossover called the Concept XR-PHEV designed to look like a "sport coupe" as well as the Concept AR compact MPV, which will utilize a small-displacement, turbocharged engine.
There is still no word on the next-gen Lancer, Galant or subcompact sedan mentioned in recent reports, but the announcement below does show promise for Mitsubishi's lineup of plug-in cars.
Mitsubishi boss says US operations may break even next year
Sat, 23 Nov 2013Mitsubishi has lost money in its North America operations every year since 2007, but in an interview at this week's Tokyo Motor Show, company president Osamu Masuko said, "If things keep going well, it might be the case that we break even this year," Automotive News reports.
A little context: Last month Mitsubishi predicted that it would lower its operating loss in the region to 4-billion yen ($40.7 million) by March 31, the end of the fiscal year, well below the previous fiscal year's operating loss of more than five times that amount. Reflecting that, production at the Japanese automaker's sole North American factory in Normal, Illinois, has grown to 56,630 vehicles through October, compared to 27,339 through the same period last year.
The plant makes the Outlander Sport for the US and for export to markets such as Russia, the Middle East and Latin America. Interestingly, out of the 56,630 Outlander Sports built at the Illinois plant through October, only 20,150 were sold in the US.
