For Sale is a 1995 Mitsubishi Galant S with REBUILT TRANSMISSION and clear title. I am asking $750 but feel free to give an offer. Although this car does run and drive I am selling car as a parts car for the following reason:
***The front inner wheel wells are rusting where the upper A arm for the front suspension is held in place. So the upper A arm is no longer holding the front tire tightly in place anymore.*** I had estimates on repairs and determined it will cost more to repair that what the car is worth. Along with the fact that the rear end might be an issue in the near future.
More issues with the car:
* The frame where the rear end is held in place is getting really rusty.
* I think there is a power steering leak? I believe 2 lines are just extremely rusty.
* The inner door handle just broke the same day the front end issue was found.
* Headliner was removed because of old age/ water damage (it was all tattered and torn).
* Sky light leaks, not bad just a few drops over both front seats.
* Paint has been coming off the trunk lid ever since I bought it.
* The rear shock mounts have rusted out of the wheel wells quite some time ago but I have rigged up a bracket to hold them in place.
* Passenger door lock (doesn't work) and truck lock (works) were vandalized just 2 months ago.
* Stained seats from the leaky sunroof.
* Believed a previous owner was rear ended because of bent brace when trunk is opened. Along with the paint on the rear quarter panels don't match 100% (only when lighting is just right) and flaky trunk lid. But car comes with CLEAR TITLE.
The Good:
****The Transmission was rebuilt 2 years ago, only 18,000 miles on rebuild.**** Tranny was rebuilt at 130,000 miles even, when I picked up the car it wasn't a mile over or under 130,000.
****Newer tires, put on just after transmission rebuild 18,000 miles on all 4. They look like NEW yet.**** They are Altimax RT General size P185/70R14
* American Racing aluminum wheels.
* All motor and tranny mounts were replaced during tranny rebuild.
* Newer belts on motor.
* Brand New rear brakes, both brake shoes and drum (Maybe 1000-2000 miles on them).
* Front brakes like new.
* Newer idle control module, thermostat, neutral safety switch, spark plugs, plug wires, air cleaner.
* Front passenger fender is a nice fender if one needs the sheet metal. Doors and other front fender have very little rust starting but ok for age.
* No issues with electronics.
More about the car. I have owned this car for the last 5-6 years. The car has 148000 miles on it (100700 when bought). It has always had regular oil changes with new oil filters with every oil change (changed every 2000-2500 miles, I have slip on when oil changes were made.). I have not had any issues with the motor since I have owned it. This car has had an easy life while I have owned. I always accelerated and braked really easy so I could get the best MPG that I could gat with the car. During summer months I averaged 25-30+ mpg's and in winter 20-25 mpg's. I just recently drove this very car down to Des Moines Iowa (8/1/2013) and got an amazing 36 MPG's (401.05 miles on 11.184 gallons = 35.86 mpg). On longer trips like that I always averaged 33-36 mpg's. I have always kept the engine running below 3000 rpm's. Even on the freeway, always kept it below 65 mph (in order to get the best mpg's). This has really always been a really reliable car for me other than the transmission rebuild. I am a do it yourself kind of guy, and always made repairs ASAP once they were found.
This motor and transmission are the best candidates for a transplant if someone needs them. Both the engine and transmission I think work flawlessly.
If you have any other questions please feel free to email me. I can send more pictures to those who are interested. Thank You Very Much.
Buyer must pay $250 within 48 hours of Buy It Now and remainder paid upon pick up or via Paypal within 7 days of auction end.

Race Recap: 2014 Pikes Peak Hill Climb
Mon, 30 Jun 2014The weather didn't interrupt the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb this year, the sun staying out to shine throughout a mildly cloudy day. The crowds didn't interrupt the race, either. Last year there were incidents like the woman who leaned so far into the road that her camera tore a hole in a speeding Shelby Cobra and she had to be sent to the hospital. This year the organizers shrank the number of spectator viewing areas and put others behind fences, such that long stretches of the route were uninhabited by anything other than varmints.
The only unexpected visitor was a dusty track and what some competitors said were slightly higher temperatures that changed the amount of grip and increased times. Yet the calm let a couple of teams, like that sun, break through the clouds of past misfortune and claim victories they'd been targeting for years.
The 100,000th EV sold in the US is... a Mitsubishi i-MiEV
Fri, 12 Jul 2013The news here isn't that 100,000 EVs have been sold in the US, although that's quite the accomplishment. It's that the 100,000th car is a Mitsubishi i-MiEV - a car that takes nearly a full day to recharge on a standard outlet and can only travel about 62 miles per charge (according to the car's Monroney).
Jabs at the Mitsubishi aside, the fact that US dealers have moved 100,000 electric cars is made more impressive in that it's only been done since the latest generation of EVs arrived, typified by the Nissan Leaf, Ford Focus Electric and aforementioned i-MiEV. Chronologically, that means roughly the last two years. It's a number that we can only expect to climb, as EVs gain a stronger foothold among manufacturers and consumers.
Plug In America, an EV advocacy group, crunched the numbers for a contest called #PIA100K, to find the lucky buyer, who would be given a ClipperCreek Level 2 charger (which takes the i-MiEV's recharge time down to just seven hours). The winner, Rich Salmon of Grand Bay, Alabama, picked up his i-MiEV from Pete Moore Mitsubishi.
Mitsubishi CA-MiEV and GR-HEV concepts peek out before debut
Mon, 04 Mar 2013We're getting a look at the two star Mitsubishi concept cars from this year's Geneva soiree, just ahead of the official debut for both. As suits Mitsubishi's ever-deepening interest in electrified vehicles, the brace of concepts both make use of electric drive: the CA-MiEV being a pure electric vehicle and the GR-HEV using a diesel-electric powertrain.
The CA-MiEV concept car may look a bit like a photoshopped Toyota Prius, but in fact the car employs a new electric motor and battery system from Mitsu. We're told that the EV has a theoretical range of 186 miles, which is nearly double the range of most EVs on the market today and approaches Tesla territory. The vehicle is larger than the company's current i-MiEV, and would seem to point the way forward for a more mainstream production EV from Mitsu.
The second concept, a rather odd-looking pickup truck called the GR-HEV, has a diesel engine, electric motor, all-wheel drive, and Mitsubishi's Super All Wheel Control. The front fascia bears a version of the grille we've seen on the new Outlander PHEV, with more radically raked (sort of "smiling") lighting elements.
