Bethlehem, Connecticut, United States
ONLY 271 original miles!! {yes you read that right.......271 original miles} Here is a once in a lifetime opportunity to purchase one of the last Mitsubishi Eclipse cars ever produced!! I have the clear Connecticut title in hand. Car is triple black in color. I have listed 19 photos to show it's fabulous condition. This was the final model year for the Eclipse with a very short run as production ended in early August 2011. This particular vehicle was produced in late July 2011 making it possibly the very last Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder {Convertible} EVER to be produced. This car has the rare "END OF PRODUCTION" commemorative SE package which includes special 18-inch Dark Argent alloy wheels and one of a kind graphics, leather interior, 650W Rockford Fosgate 9-speaker audio. A very special car indeed. I am the only registered owner. I purchased this car from my local Mitsubishi dealership here in Middlebury Connecticut just before they closed their doors and sold the franchise. When I got the car it had 82 original miles on the odometer. As you can see I rarely drove it. It has been covered with a California car cover in my garage ever since. Never left outside over night and never seeing any rain or snow. I only took it out in special occasions. This car is totally breathtaking to see in person. I just did a fresh oil change with a new Original Mitsubishi filter and added Mobil 1 full synthetic in 5w-20 grade. The car is ready to go. It also still has the ful1 factory Mitsubishi 10 year/100,000 powertrain and 5year/60,000 Bumper to Bumper warranty still in effect. The condition of the car is 100% perfect with no flaws. Everything is original including the paint {no paint work was ever done} Lazor straight body panels. Honestly for a triple BLACK car that is saying something. This car is a show stopper. It also has EVERY factory option a 2012 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder could have for that model, including: AC, AT, PW,PS, AC, Leather Seats, Dual exhaust, rear spoiler, power top, remote keyless entry, cruise, power folding tonneau cover, auto off headlights, 2.4 4 cylinder motor and of course it's a convertible. If you are looking for THE PERFCET Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder Convertible, look no further......you just found one of the best on the Planet. Carlos Ghosn was on verge of release — so prosecutors file new allegation
Fri, Dec 21 2018TOKYO — Japanese prosecutors added a new allegation of breach of trust against Nissan's former chairman Carlos Ghosn on Friday, dashing his hopes for posting bail quickly. Ghosn and another former Nissan executive, Greg Kelly, were arrested Nov. 19 and charged with underreporting Ghosn's income by about 5 billion yen ($44 million) in 2011-2015. They also face the prospect of more charges of underreporting Ghosn's income for other years by nearly 10 billion ($80 million) in total. The breach of trust allegations were filed a day after a court rejected prosecutors' request for a longer detention of both men. The new allegation only applies to Ghosn, and Kelly could still be bailed out. A request for bail by Kelly's lawyer is pending court approval, according to the Tokyo District Court, but his release will have to wait until next week since the request was still in process after office hours Friday. Prosecutors in a statement Friday alleged that Ghosn in 2008 transferred a private investment loss worth more than 1.8 billion yen ($16 million) to Nissan by manipulating an unspecified "swap" contract. Ghosn also profited by having the company transfer a total of $14.7 million to another company to benefit himself and that company's owner, who helped in the contract manipulation, prosecutors said. Shin Kukimoto, deputy chief prosecutor at the Tokyo District Prosecutors Office, refuse to say if the two transactions were related or how Ghosn illegally profited. He also declined to identify the collaborator or whether the transactions were made overseas. Ghosn and Kelly are only charged with underreporting Ghosn's pay over five years, in violation of the Financial Instruments and Exchange Act. They have not been formally charged with an additional allegation of underreporting another 4 billion yen ($36 million) for 2016-2018, for which their first 10-day detention was to expire Thursday. Prosecutors have been criticized for separating the allegations as a tactic to detain Ghosn and Kelly longer. They say Ghosn and Kelly are flight risks. The maximum penalty for violating the financial act is up to 10 years in prison, a 10 million yen ($89,000) fine, or both. Breach of trust also carries a similar maximum penalty. The conviction rate in Japan is more than 99 percent for any crime. Ghosn was sent by Renault in 1999 to turn around Nissan, then on the verge of bankruptcy, and he led its rise to become the world's second-largest automaker.
Junkyard Gem: 1983 Mitsubishi Starion
Wed, Feb 6 2019Americans had been buying Mitsubishis with Dodge or Plymouth badging for more than a decade when the first Mitsubishi-badged cars began showing up on these shores. For the 1983 model year, Mitsubishi USA offered the Cordia, the Tredia, the Mighty Max, and the Starion; the latter was a futuristic-looking rear-wheel-drive sports car that took direct aim at potential buyers of the Supra, the 280ZX, the RX-7, and even the Camaro. Here's a rare first-year "narrow-body" Starion in a Denver self-service wrecking yard. Even though every Starion sported a turbocharged engine, the word TURBO was considered so magical during this era that no self-respecting car company in 1983 would have refrained from adding at least a couple of TURBO badges. Later Starions (and Conquests) even had TURBO badging sewn into the seat belts. In 1983, the Starion's 2.6-liter Astron packed 145 horsepower, which compared favorably to the optional 175-horse engine in the much heavier 1983 Camaro Z28 (the base Z28 engine made 150hp). The 280ZX cost more and offered 145 horsepower; the 280ZX Turbo cost lots more but had 180 horses. This car looks tired but not rusty. The pins stuck into fuel-injection electrical connectors tell a sad story of its final days on the road; a frustrated owner tried to use a multimeter to figure out hard-to-diagnose electrical woes. Auto-reverse was a high-end audio-system feature in 1983 cars. Mitsubishi made (and still makes) plenty of good consumer electronics, so the sound systems in these cars were considered high-quality stuff for their time. I shot this car with a circa-1983 cereal-box-prize film camera, because it seemed like a good idea. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Mitsubishi's first US chairman since 2007 charged with revitalizing brand
Fri, 02 Nov 2012Have a look at Mitsubishi North America's vehicle page and you'll find seven cars in four model lines: i-MiEV electric hatch, Lancer sedan, Lancer Evolution and Sportback, Outlander and Outlander Sport, and Galant sedan. The Galant has 3.9 tires in the automotive grave, and the only hope for mainstream excitement, the Eclipse coupe and Spyder, had hemlock poured down their crankcases last year. Increasing the quotient of bleak, the Lancer isn't due for a refresh until 2014, the coming Outlander PHEV will sell in miniscule numbers when it does arrive, a little sports car has been nixed and the only other Mitsu being considered for our landmass is the Colt, which, for its stellar fuel economy numbers, looks like a car designed by Pikachu. There's also that matter of declining NA market share in a rising overall market, Mitsubishi's piece of the total pie currently hovering around the 0.4-percent mark according to Automotive News.
The company has decided to do more about it, reassigning Executive Vice President and Head Officer of the Headquarters Product Projects & Strategy Group Gayu Uesugi to be the new chairman of Mitsubishi Motors North America. It will be the first time in five years that someone has filled the chairman position at MMNA.
The hope is that with Uesugi's 35 years with the company, his experience in the company's global product plan and his success in emerging market strategy, he's the man to "[develop] a product plan and growth strategy for the US market" that will put things right. Or at least better. He will work with Yoichi Yokozawa, who has been CEO of MMNA since last year. There are more details on the move in the press release below.
