2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder Gts Convertible Auto 3.0 V6 ***in Safe Mode*** on 2040-cars
Buena Vista, Tennessee, United States
Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder GTS - Garage Kept - CAR IS IN SAFE MODE I purchased this car from a local dealer when the mileage was just 40,000 as my personal car. I used it mainly to go back and forth to work which was only 8 miles from my home, hence the still low miles of only 70,556. It has been loved, cared for and driven with the utmost respect by me only since I purchased it. It has NEVER been run hard or abused in any way while in my care!!! About 2 years ago I bought a truck and retired the car to the garage for the most part, other than the occasional week end ride. Then one day I went to go for a ride and low and behold it went into "Safe Mode." My husband replaced several sensors thinking one of them was the issue with no success. Other than being in safe mode (means that all the electronics have been shut down to the transmission as a safety feature to keep it from sustaining damage) this car is still in extra nice condition. The motor runs well with no problems at all and the transmission is still in great condition if you can figure out which component has gone simple that is. The exterior is still beautiful and shiny with only a few small dings here and there, nothing bad enough to note specifically. The interior is also in extra nice condition with no rips or tears in the leather seats, it has a 6 cd changer, all the extras this model came out with and power everything. The dash has cracked (defect) as it did on all these cars of this year and the lining on the interior of the top is loose around the rear window. Various minor, normal signs of use. None severe. The convertible top is in very good working condition. Overall a great car in very nice condition. If you're a mechanic or mechanically inclined this car is perfect for you. It don't believe it will require much money to fix if you can do it yourself but it will require a knowledgeable mechanic. Fluids changed regularly, all maintenance requirements were met or exceeded. Includes the original top cover for when the top is down. Being sold "AS IS." *Thank You For Looking* !!!God Bless The USA!!! |

Mitsubishi developing new standalone hybrid Evo successor
Mon, 16 Dec 2013Mention the name Mitsubishi to different people and you'll likely get two startling different images. Environmentalists will focus on the company's strides in developing EVs, while performance enthusiasts will point you toward the Lancer Evolution. The prevailing wisdom was that Mitsubishi would cancel the latter to concentrate on the former, but the latest intel suggests that the two will be reconciled with a new Evo around the corner.
Although Mitsubishi is reportedly working to streamline its lineup from 23 models on 12 different platforms to 13 models on 7 by 2016, the next Evo will stand as an exception. Like Subaru did with the formerly Impreza-based WRX (or for that matter Nissan with the formerly Skyline-based GT-R), the new Evo won't have anything to do with the next Lancer, which itself will be based on a Renault-Nissan platform.
On that unique platform, Mitsubishi is likely to install a small direct-injection turbo engine (potentially a diesel) that could be based on the 1.1-liter, three-cylinder turbo engine in the XR-PHEV concept we saw in Tokyo, supplemented by small electric motors with lightweight batteries and driving all four wheels through an enhanced version of the company's Super All-Wheel Control system. As to whether the Evo name will carry over, that remains to be seen, but if these reports prove accurate, its spirit could very much live on.
NuTonomy shows that people quickly relax in autonomous cars
Thu, Oct 6 2016For six weeks, nuTonomy has had a fleet of self-driving taxis on the streets of Singapore, and it seems the experiment is already yielding useful information based on rider surveys. CEO Dr. Karl Iagnemma revealed at UPSHIFT 2016 that despite most first-time riders initially being nervous about stepping into a self-driving vehicle, the anxiety quickly fades. In fact, after a minute or two in the car, riders will relax into near boredom. Customers who ride along in either a fully autonomous Renault Zoe or a Mitsuibshi i-MiEV have been providing valuable feedback to engineers pre- and post-ride. The research and data obtained from their self-driving taxi service and the riders who use it is already being integrated into their future, Level 4 autonomous products. The Cambridge, MA, based company has also found that riders are attributing human-like characteristics to the vehicles. It seems that riders prefer when the machines don't behave like machines but more like people. NuTonomoy is tailoring their future vehicles to be less trolly-like. Iagnemma revealed that the company is in talks with other global cities to bring their autonomous products to the roads. Mitsubishi Concept XR-PHEV II points the way forward with its angular look [w/video]
Wed, Mar 4 2015The Mitsubishi Concept XR-PHEV II on display at the Geneva Motor Show isn't really a completely new vehicle but more of thorough reworking of the earlier XR-PHEV from the 2013 Tokyo Motor Show. For the latest interpretation, the Japanese brand is getting the design ready for an eventual debut for the road. While the two concepts look practically identical at first glance, the XR-PHEV II is far more possible for production than its predecessor. The grille and hood now feature openings to let the vehicle cool its plug-in hybrid system, and the rear design offers enough glass to actually let the driver see out of the back. The interior for the latest version also looks mostly functional this time and is clad in eye-catching orange upholstery. The XR-PHEV II's powertrain is a bit more mysterious, though. It's a front-wheel drive PHEV that's powered by a 12-kWh battery and offers a total output of 160 horsepower. However, Mitsubishi isn't taking about the internal combustion engine's displacement or the model's transmission. Still, the company is clear that this look is a glimpse at its future crossovers, and that would be a welcome change. XR-PHEV II's more angular design would certainly liven up Mitsubishi's somewhat staid lineup.
