1998 Mitsubishi Eclipse Gsx Hatchback 2-door 2.0l on 2040-cars
Syracuse, New York, United States
Car was built in '03, well-maintained since (by Cantech Automotive),
always garage kept, never seen snow. Heavily modified. It's very fast,
accelerates quickly and handles well - driving this car is fun. Boost is
set at 17psi but could go higher. Clutch is heavy, steering is tight, suspension is firm,
car is low (but not too low to be driven most places). Issues: There's
a screw missing from the throttle body which causes the car to idle
high at stoplights (~1500-2000rpm). A stab at the throttle drops it back
to normal. I've been told the kit to fix this can be bought from
streettunedmotorsports.com for $15. CD Player/head unit needs replacing. None of these problems annoyed me to the
point of fixing them, and I drove the car almost daily in the summer.
Comes with a box of original parts and original hood. I'm only
selling the car because my personal tastes have changed - if I had the
extra space & money I would keep it and buy something else too. But I
don't, so it's time for this car to be enjoyed by someone else as much
as I have enjoyed it the past 8 years. This car has over $12K invested
in mods alone. Buyer gets a folder w/all receipts, including both parts
& labor for all mods & maintenance. Price negotiable. Email me
w/questions or offer.
List of mods: spearco intercooler 24.5x11x3.5 w/custom intercooler piping, 3 inch Thermal racing exhaust (w/cat added), Evo manifold, 3 inch downpipe, tubular o2 housing, 40mm wastegate, 560 RC injectors, holley fuel rail, sx fuel regulator, k&n air filter, Greddy BOV, dejon tool air intake, forced performance green turbo, ACT2600 Clutch, short shifter, apexi afc, greddy turbo timer, apexi 60mm boost gauge, apexi 60mm egt gauge, carbon fiber hood, chrome projector headlights, 18" Exel hyper black wheels w/Kumho Ecsta summer tires, eibach lowering springs 1.5" front and back, koni adjustable shocks front and rear, strut bars, windows tinted. |

Mitsubishi delays Outlander PHEV yet again for the US
Fri, Jul 29 2016Mitsubishi was so close this time. The company showed the US-spec version of the plug-in Outlander crossover at this year's New York auto show, with plans for it to go on sale in the summer or fall of 2016. But once again, the beleaguered green family hauler has been delayed. HybridCars learned from Mitusbishi public relations managers for both the US and Canada that the Outlander PHEV won't go on sale until next summer. No specific reasons for the delay were given outside of a need "to meet a level of competitiveness that will exceed customer expectations." While we hope for Mitsubishi's sake the company releases the best product it can make, we don't think the expectations of our market will be that high, since there are no plug-in hybrid SUVs in the Outlander's class and price range. Unfortunately delays have been a recurring problem for this model. We first thought it would arrive in 2014 after launching in Japan. But ever since the original announcement, problems including battery production issues and regulatory demands have prevented the Outlander PHEV's US introduction. In the meantime, Japan and Europe have had the crossover for a few years. The car has since been refreshed, and we were promised that updated model but no dice yet. HybridCars also points out that the Outlander PHEV has been the best-selling plug-in hybrid in Europe. We imagine it could be a major success here since it combines plug-in tech with the ever-popular crossover body style, but we won't know until next year. At least as long as it doesn't get delayed again. Related Video: News Source: HybridCARSImage Credit: Drew Phillips Green Mitsubishi Crossover Hybrid PHEV
FCA compromises with France, moving Renault merger bid forward
Tue, Jun 4 2019FRANKFURT/PARIS – Renault directors were preparing to review Fiat Chrysler's $35 billion merger offer on Tuesday, after the Italian-American carmaker resolved differences with the French government overnight, three sources said. The compromise on French government influence over a combined FCA-Renault may clear the way for Renault's board to approve a framework agreement beginning the long process of a full merger, unless new issues surface at the meeting. France, Renault's biggest shareholder with a 15% stake, had been pressing for its own guaranteed seat on the new board and an effective veto on CEO appointments. But after late-night talks with FCA Chairman John Elkann, the French government has accepted a compromise that would see it occupy one of four board seats allocated to Renault, balanced by four FCA appointees, the sources said. Renault would also cede one of its two seats on a four-member CEO nominations committee to the French state, they said. Renault, FCA and the French government all declined to comment on the discussions. The same evening that the compromise was was negotiated, activist hedge fund CIAM wrote to the board of Renault to say it "strongly opposed" a planned $35 billion merger with Fiat Chrysler. Calling the deal "opportunistic," the fund said the current deal terms strongly favored Fiat Chrysler and offered no control premium. Mitsubishi e-Evolution concept EV has AI that can teach you to drive better
Thu, Oct 5 2017Following a teaser last month, Mitsubishi has revealed additional details, and a couple more images of the e-Evolution concept. The new teasers show a car with a pretty wild profile. The windshield is incredibly long and raked, and it generally has an angular, wedge-like shape. It's also an extremely cab-forward design, which is possible because it is fully electric, and there isn't an engine up front to take up lots of space. That's bad news for anyone hoping Mitsubishi might just hybridize a high-strung turbo engine. But it is still all-wheel drive, courtesy of a trio of electric motors. There's one motor up front for the front wheels, and a pair at the back for the rear wheels. These rear motors can apply different amounts of power for torque vectoring. The e-Evolution also has a unique feature in its artificial intelligence ( AI) system. Mitsubishi didn't go deep into the details of how it works, but by using many sensors, the AI can adjust how the car drives and reacts based on road conditions, traffic, and driver preferences. It can make you a better driver by silently assisting you, but it can also make you a better driver by teaching you. Apparently it can assess your driving skills and advise you on how to improve. Hopefully the e-Evolution, or whatever production model takes inspiration from it, will be fun enough to drive that you will want to improve your skills. The e-Evolution will be on display at the Tokyo Motor Show. It will only be on display for one of the press days, so if you happen to be able to get to the show then, make sure you catch it. For everyone else, stay tuned to Autoblog for more photos and info when it's fully revealed. Related Video:
