1998 Mitsibishi Eclipse Gsx Dsm Awd Turbo, Salvage, Wrecked, Damaged, Rebuilder on 2040-cars
Lincoln, Nebraska, United States
I have a great looking rare and very sporty eclipse gsx project car. Runs and lot drives and is a fast little car!! Only 74k very low miles, manual, 4cylinder, awd, turbo, exterior red in color/ interior is gray leather. This is a project car im not a expert and not sure whats all done to it- U are buying it as is! Heres the story on it. I bought it at a auction as a project car. Brought it home with high hopes in mind- the car has been sitting there ever since (about 6 months). Now I have way too many things going on and don't ever see my self working on this one so im offering it to a new home. I have driven the car around the block a few times but tats as far as I have gone. It starts a little rough once it sits for a couple weeks but once it does it runs good. The insurance company had the car apart (bumpers, taillights, and inside panels) I put most of it back together. Tats all I have done to the car. There is still damage to the right rear quarter and right door. The battery is also dead- will need a jump. Has a greddy big front mount, intake, exhaust, looks like aftermarket injectors and turbo, not sure wat else. Also I have a extra 3" full exhaust, turbo and piping. Really dont know much about these cars hopefully someone does and can give it a good home. It does have some dents, chips, scratches, and some damage on the right side (I will let the pictures explain all off that). Also the front bumper is messed up. Salvage title. This is a project car!! It needs work! serious buyers only!! Do not bid if you don't intend to pay!! Must email me before you bid if you only have zero feedback!! I can have the car shipped to you anywhere in the us for about $1 a mile. The pictures are a couple weeks old when it was warm outside, now its just to cold and snow out side for me to take more new ones. If the weather gets better before the auction ends I will load up some new ones. You can email me at odcustoms@yahoo.com or call/text 402-730-9329 for any questions.

Mitsubishi leaving US? No, it's doubling its marketing budget
Tue, 12 Feb 2013We rarely hear any major news coming out of the National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA) annual meeting in Orlando, FL, but Mitsubishi executives found this a fitting place to announce a big push for increased advertising here in the US. A report in Automotive News states that the struggling Japanese automaker is returning to advertising in prime time television for the first time since 2005, with the push slated to begin in June and July for the launch of the 2014 Mitsubishi Outlander shown above.
Despite dwindling sales and a shrinking lineup, Mitsubishi's new North American chairman, Gayu Uesugi, has said on multiple occasions that the automaker has no plans to abandon the US market. Spending extra money on marketing and advertising should be a good start to help improve sales, but a lack of fresh and competitive products is also keeping showrooms empty. Aside from the new Outlander, the AN report says that Mitsubishi spokesman Roger Yasukawa said that a "yet-to-be-named subcompact" will arrive this year, which suggests the unnamed hatchback shown below (known elsewhere as the Mirage), could be heading to the US after its North American introduction at the Montreal Auto Show last month.
Nissan, Renault in talks to merge as one company
Thu, Mar 29 2018Nissan and Renault have been tied together as an alliance for nearly 20 years, but now the Japanese and French automakers are discussing whether to merge. Bloomberg, citing unidentified sources familiar with the confidential talks, reports that the idea is to form a larger, single publicly traded company to better compete against giants like Toyota and Volkswagen. It would also mark the end of the alliance that first began in 1999 and also includes Mitsubishi, in which Nissan acquired a controlling interest in 2016. A full merger would help the companies pool resources to develop electric vehicles, autonomous vehicles and car-sharing services. It would involve Nissan giving Renault shareholders stock in the new company, with Nissan shareholders also gaining shares in the new company, Bloomberg reports. The new company would be run by Carlos Ghosn, the current chairman of both companies. But any such merger, as you might expect, would be complicated, in part by geopolitics. The French government owns a 15-percent stake in Renault, and both the French and Japanese governments might be reluctant to let go of their respective home-grown brands. Currently, Renault owns a 43-percent stake in Nissan, while Nissan owns 15 percent of its French partner. Reuters reported recently that Ghosn proposed buying most of the French government's stake in Renault as part of plans for a closer tie-up. The Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi alliance already has been working to establish a $200 million mobility tech fund to invest in startups, a reflection of how seismic changes in the auto industry have left many legacy companies scrambling to stay current. Nissan in 2016 paid a reported $2.3 billion to acquire 34 percent of Mitsubishi in order to share platforms, technology, manufacturing and other resources. Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV production restarts after five-month delay
Wed, 21 Aug 2013Back in March, production of both the Mitsubishi Outlander plug-in hybrid and the all-electric i-MiEV ground to a halt over a pair of incidents where overheated lithium-ion batteries caused vehicle fires. Following the rocky start, The Japan Times is reporting that production of the Outlander PHEV has recommenced following the five-month stoppage.
The battery fires were tracked down to a supplier issue before more than 4,300 vehicles were recalled in June, but Mitsubishi received heavy criticism from the Japanese government for the delayed recall. According to the report, though, that hasn't slow down enthusiasm for the plug-in crossover - Mitsubishi has received close to 18,000 for the Outlander PHEV. To keep up with demand, the automaker is planning to double production to 4,000 units a month.
