This auction is for a 1995 Eclipse GSX. This is a rare version of the a 2nd generation Eclipse GSX.  It is one of the few models that comes with vented rear disc brake and viscous limited slip rear differential. The car is relatively stock.  It has a 6 bolts engine swap to get rid of the crank walk issue associated with the 7 bolts engine that was in the car.  The transmission shifts great.

Mod:
6 bolts engine swap from 1g DSM.  You will need a chip, Ecmlink or Dsmlink to clear the random misfire code associated with this swap.
The engine runs great and smooth.  It was  rebuild by the previous owner with less than 2000 miles on it.

Tires:
Tires has really good amount of thread on them but have tiny dry crack in them.

Transmission:
stock clutch
shift great with no grinding

Exterior:
Paint is still grossy.  There are door dings which the camera did not pick up.  Slight paint fade along the wing and hood.  Hood has ding on the front where someone sat on it.  Slight scratches from age.  Please refer to the pictures of the exterior.  Passenger door handle is broken.  You can pick this handle up at Autozone or online for pretty cheap.

Interior:
Dry cracks and tears in front seats.  There are holes on the dash where the previous owner mounted GPS or radar detector.  I have a near perfect dash to go with this car when it sale.  If you want pics of the other dash, please text me.  Please refer to the pictures of the interior.

Misc:
A/C system in the engine bay was removed but I have all the components to put back into the car.  The radio and speakers were removed but I have all components to put back into the car.  The a/c and radio component will go with the car.  The car has good brake pads.  The car start and run great.  The sun roof motor works but one of the plastic clip is broken which makes the sun roof hangs up sliding back.  This is a easy fix with a cheap part from Mitsubishi.

Clean title and is ready to go with the new own.

This car is sold as is.  I will answer any question you might have. $200 deposit is due 24 hours after the end of the auction via Pay Pal.  Full payment is due the car 3 days after the auction end.  Check or money order must cleared prior to picking up the car.  Pay Pal payment is accepted. Please ask me question that might concern you via email before bidding.  You can text me at 678-860-9924 for more pictures.

PLEASE DO NOT BID IF YOU DO NOT HAVE THE FUND TO PAY FOR THE CAR.

Happy Bidding.

Drive like a prince: Join us for a walk through Monaco's car collection

Fri, Dec 29 2023

Small, crowded, and a royal pain in the trunk lid to drive into during rush hour, Monaco sounds like an improbable location for a huge car museum. And yet, this tiny city-state has been closely linked to car culture for over a century. It hosts two major racing events every year, many of its residents would qualify for a frequent shopper card if Rolls-Royce issued one, and Prince Rainier III began assembling a collection of cars in the late 1950s. He opened his collection to the public in 1993 and the museum quickly turned into a popular tourist attraction. The collection continued to grow after his death in April 2005; it moved to a new facility located right on Hercules Port in July 2022. Monaco being Monaco, you'd expect to walk into a room full of the latest, shiniest, and most powerful supercars ever to shred a tire. That's not the case: while there is no shortage of high-horsepower machines, the first cars you see after paying ˆ10 (approximately $11) to get in are pre-war models. In that era, the template for the car as we know it in 2023 hadn't been created, so an eclectic assortment of expensive and dauntingly experimental machines roamed whatever roads were available to them. One is the Leyat Helica, which was built in France in 1921 with a 1.2-liter air-cooled flat-twin sourced from the world of aviation. Fittingly, the two-cylinder spun a massive, plane-like propeller. Government vehicles get a special spot in the museum. They range from a Cadillac Series 6700 with an amusing blend of period-correct French-market yellow headlights and massive fins to a 2011 Lexus LS 600h with a custom-made transparent roof panel that was built by Belgian coachbuilder Carat Duchatelet for Prince Albert II's wedding. Here's where it all gets a little weird: you've got a 1952 Austin FX3, a Ghia-bodied 1959 Fiat 500 Jolly, a 1960 BMW Isetta, and a 1971 Lotus Seven. That has to be someone's idea of a perfect four-car garage.  One of the most significant cars in the collection lurks in the far corner of the main hall, which is located a level below the entrance. At first glance, it's a kitted-out Renault 4CV with auxiliary lights, a racing number on the front end, and a period-correct registration number issued in the Bouches-du-Rhone department of France. It doesn't look all that different than the later, unmodified 4CV parked right next to it. Here's what's special about it: this is one of the small handful of Type 1063 models built by Renault for competition.

No one wants to buy Mitsubishi's only US plant

Fri, Jan 8 2016

Mitsubishi Motors will very likely close its factory in Normal, IL, later this year after failing to find another company in the auto market to take over its only manufacturing site in the US. "We have given up looking for an automaker to buy the plant, but we are looking for possible buyers from other industries," a Mitsubishi spokesperson told Reuters. Mitsubishi announced plans to leave the site in 2015 to shift its business strategy toward Asia. The factory started as a joint venture with Chrysler in 1988 and was the only plant from a Japanese automaker in the US with a UAW-represented workforce. This was allegedly a sticking point when finding a buyer because other companies in the industry didn't want to take on the union employees' contract. The Normal factory ended assembly of the Outlander Sport in November 2015 and laid off 1,000 workers at that time. The site will continue to make car parts until May, and then Mitsubishi will let go of the remaining 250 employees. The costs of shutting down the factory could be as high as 30 billion yen ($255 million), but a company spokesperson wouldn't confirm that figure to Reuters. Mitsubishi's fortunes seem on the upswing in the US as of late. The company's deliveries jumped 22.8 percent in 2015 to a total of 95,342 vehicles, and the last fiscal year brought the automaker's first operating profit in this region in seven years. Mitsubishi mulling Mirage sedan for US [w/videos]

Tue, 15 Oct 2013

Mitsubishi is bringing the Mirage hatchback to the US this fall, carrying a price tag of $12,995, not including the $725 destination charge. Mitsunori Kitao, COO of Mitsubishi Motors Thailand Co., says that the Japanese automaker might consider releasing the sedan version of the Thailand-built compact - called the Attrage in Thailand and the Mirage G4 in the Phillipines - if the little hatchback takes off in the US market, Automotive News reports.
Weight is a key concern with importing the sedan. The non-US Mirage hatchback weighs just 1,900 pounds, but its naturally aspirated 1.2-liter three-cylinder engine makes just 79 horsepower and 78 pound-feet of torque, which can only manage a 0-62 miles-per-hour time of 11.2 seconds. The heavier sedan would take even longer.
