FOR SALE: 1991 MITSUBISHI MIGHTY MAX!

LISTED FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION IS THIS GREAT LOOKING, MONEY SAVING SHORT BED MIGHTY MAX SPORT PICK-UP TRUCK. THESE ARE SUCH GREAT LITTLE TRUCKS: WHY DON'T THEY STILL MAKE THESE? ITS SMALL, PRACTICAL, UNCOMPLICATED, DEPENDABLE & ATTRACTIVE TRANSPORTATION THAT COST NEXT TO NOTHING NEW! WOULD'NT IT BE GREAT TO BE ABLE TO BUY A NEW TRUCK LIKE THIS FOR $10-15k? I DON'T KNOW WHAT THEY WOULD CHARGE BUT IT WOULD BE BETTER THAN THE 40k STARTING POINT OF THE HUGE "SMALL" TRUCKS THEY MAKE TODAY. ANYWAY, THIS IS A REALLY NICE EXAMPLE OF THE LAST OF THE AFFORDABLE, EASY TO MAINTAIN, EASY TO DRIVE, TRULY SMALL PICK-UPS. I DRIVE IT REGULARLY & HAVE NO COMPLAINTS. FOR A TRUCK WITH 190k IT SURE LOOKS GREAT INSIDE & OUT: EVERYTHING WAS BUILT TO LAST ON THESE! ITS EASY TO DRIVE & ALWAYS STARTS UP WITH A TWIST OF THE KEY. IT RUNS AS IT SHOULD, HAS PLENTY OF POWER & IT SEEMS TO RUN BETTER WITH A FULL LOAD IN THE BED! IT DOES'NT BURN OIL BUT IT DOES LEAK IT AROUND THE VALVE COVERS. NO OVERHEATING OR ELECTRICAL ISSUES. ALL INSTRUMENTS WORK & THERE ARE NO WARNING LIGHTS STAYING ON. INTERIOR IS SIMPLY BEAUTIFUL WITH NO ISSUES: CARPET HAS NO RIPS, SEAT IS RIP-FREE & COMFORTABLE. I HAD THE CARPET OUT TO CLEAN IT & THE FLOORS ARE PERFECT. THE BODY HAS A FEW RUST SPOTS AS SHOWN BUT THE FRAME IS SOLID. THE PAINT IS ORIGINAL & APPARENTLY, AFTER 22 YEARS, IS MADE TO LAST! DOORS OPEN & CLOSE LIKE NEW WITH A TIGHT SEAL AS DOES THE HOOD & TAILGATE. I PUT CHROME 15" NISSAN WHEELS ON IT TO GIVE IT A LITTLE MORE GROUND CLEARANCE. IF YOU WANT THE FACTORY 14" WHEELS THEY CAN BE INCLUDED. THE TRANSMISSION IS WORKING FLAWLESSLY AS ARE THE BRAKES. IT HAS A RECENT INSPECTION SO EVERYTHING IS KNOWN TO WORK. ITS A BEAUTIFUL LOOKING & DRIVING LITTLE TRUCK. I REALLY DON'T WANT TO SELL THIS BUT THE TRUTH IS, DARN IT, I NEED A BIGGER TRUCK. I WILL MISS THE GREAT GAS MILEAGE & ITS SPORTY LOOK.  MAKE THE HIGH BID & THEN DRIVE IT HOME: ITS READY TO GO! NO 22 YEAR OLD VEHICLE IS GOING TO BE PERFECT: IN THE FUTURE I SUGGEST YOU REPLACE THE TAIL-PIPE (MUFFLER IS GOOD), FRONT BRAKE PADS & VALVE COVER GASKET. I CAN'T REPLACE THIS TRUCK FOR THE REASONABLE RESERVE I'VE SET & IF ITS NOT MET I WILL PROBABLY BE HAPPY SHE DID'NT SELL. THIS IS A GOOD DEAL DON'T LET IT GET AWAY!

This vehicle is being sold as is, where is, with no warranty expressed or implied. I have done my best to describe the vehicle honestly & to the best of my ability but I may have missed something so please feel free to ask anything. If you want to speak on the phone or see it in person just write. (I highly advise seeing any vehicle in person to be sure you know what your getting) Buying a car online can be a scary experience if you get the wrong kind of seller. I want to ease your fears & let you know that after payment I wont forget you: I will still be here after the auction to help you get the vehicle delivered, answer your questions, send paperwork, etc. Simply said: I will help you through the process & make it as easy as possible. You pick a shipping service, they call me & you get it home, its that easy. If you wish to pick the car up or drive it home I will be here to help load it, etc. Thanks in advance for your bid/purchase.

Now Mitsubishi Motors has ousted Carlos Ghosn, days after Nissan firing

Mon, Nov 26 2018

TOKYO — Mitsubishi Motors said on Monday its board removed Carlos Ghosn from his role as chairman, following his arrest and ouster from alliance partner Nissan last week for alleged financial misconduct. Ghosn's sacking in a unanimous board vote marks the end of his chairmanship of Japanese automakers, just two years after he was praised for bringing a steadying hand to Mitsubishi Motors following a cheating scandal in 2016. CEO Osamu Masuko will become temporary chairman, the automaker said. "Ghosn has lost the confidence of Nissan" and it is "difficult for him to fulfill his duties," spurring the dismissal, Mitsubishi Motors said in a statement. Nissan holds a controlling 34 percent stake in Mitsubishi Motors and has two executives on the board. The move comes amid discontent over French partner Renault SA's role in the 19-year Franco-Japanese alliance of which Ghosn was the driving force. Sealed in 1999 when Nissan was rescued from near-bankruptcy, it was enlarged in 2016 to include Mitsubishi and enabled the members to jointly develop products and control costs. The alliance vies with Volkswagen AG and Toyota for the ranking of the world's biggest automaker. Even as Nissan has recovered and grown rapidly, it remains a junior partner in the shareholding structure. Renault owns 43 percent of Nissan and the Japanese automaker holds a 15 percent non-voting stake in the French firm. And Nissan is almost 60 percent bigger than Renault by sales. Top alliance executives are meeting this week in Amsterdam, aiming to shield their joint operations from the fallout of Ghosn's arrest as a power struggle between Nissan and Renault looms. Renault has refrained from firing him as chairman and CEO. Mitsubishi Motors already had plans to discuss its position in the alliance with Ghosn and, following the ouster, it needs to consider focusing on regions and technology where it can retain competitiveness, CEO Masuko told reporters after the board meeting. Cooperation among alliance members is needed amid the rise of new technology like automated and internet-connected vehicles, he said. Nissan CEO Hiroto Saikawa told staff on Monday that power was too concentrated with Ghosn and that in future better communication between alliance board members and executives would help preserve independence and generate synergies among the automakers, a Nissan spokesman said.

Mitsubishi admits to tampering with fuel economy data

Wed, Apr 20 2016

Mitsubishi admitted this week to intentionally rigging fuel-economy testing in four of its models sold in Asia. The affected models are all so-called Kei class cars with sub-660cc engines manufactured at Mitsubishi's Mizushima plant in Okayama, Japan. About 157,000 of those cars are Mitsubishi eK wagons and eK Space models, and 468,000 are re-badged Nissan Dayz and Dayz Roox cars, which Mitsubishi produces for Nissan. The matter came to light after Nissan found inconsistencies in reported mileage data, which then led to Mitsubishi launching an internal investigation. The fraud was discovered to be related to falsified tire pressure data, which has an effect on mileage results – an important matter considering these kinds of vehicles are marketed by fuel economy. Mitsubishi said it has stopped manufacturing and marketing the affected vehicles. The news caused Mitsubishi's stock to plummet over 15 percent, slicing $1.2 billion off the company's value. When the eK models hit the market three years ago, they were decorated with a Good Design Award by the Japanese Ministry of Economy – a merit that is now surely tarnished. While Mitsubishi has been suffering in the US recently, with news of the Normal, Illinois plant closing, its small Mirage model has sold well. Carlos Ghosn's arrest casts doubt on future of Renault-Nissan alliance

Tue, Nov 20 2018

For years, France's Renault and Japan's Nissan struggled to make money in the global auto business. Then came Carlos Ghosn, a Renault executive who helped to orchestrate an unprecedented transcontinental alliance, combining parts of both companies to share engineering and technology costs. Now Ghosn's arrest in Japan for alleged financial improprieties at Nissan could put the nearly 20-year-old alliance in jeopardy. Ghosn, 64, born in Brazil, schooled in France and of Lebanese heritage, is set to be ousted this week from his spot as Nissan chairman. He could also lose his roles as CEO and chairman of Renault, threatening the alliance formed in 1999 that's now selling more than 10 million automobiles a year. He's been "the glue that holds Renault and Nissan together," Bernstein analyst Max Warburton wrote in a note to investors. "It is hard not to conclude that there may be a gulf opening up between Renault and Nissan." In fact, Nissan's investigation into alleged misconduct by Ghosn is expanding to include Renault-Nissan finances, sources told Reuters — in a further sign that Nissan may seek to loosen its French parent's hold on their global carmaking alliance. Nissan told Renault's board on Monday it had evidence of potential wrongdoing at Renault-Nissan BV, the Dutch venture overseeing alliance operations under Renault's ultimate control, three people with knowledge of the matter said. Renault's board planned to meet Tuesday to discuss Ghosn's fate. "Carlos Ghosn is no longer in a position where he is capable of leading Renault," French Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire told France Info radio, calling on Renault's board to meet "in the coming hours" to set up an interim management structure. The French government owns 15 percent in Renault and has a say in its operations. Nissan's board is to meet Thursday to consider Ghosn's fate. Nissan has said it will dismiss Ghosn after he was arrested for allegedly abusing company funds and misreporting his income. That opens up a leadership void at the entire alliance, for which Ghosn officially still serves as CEO and chairman. Ghosn added Mitsubishi to the alliance two years ago after the tiny automaker was caught in a gas-mileage cheating scandal. Renault owns 43.4 percent of Nissan, which owns 15 percent of Renault, with no voting rights in a partnership that began in 1999. Since 2016, Nissan has held a 34 percent controlling stake in Mitsubishi Motor Corp.
