1998 Mitsubishi 3000gt Base Coupe 2-door 3.0l Beautiful Car! 57k Original Miles! on 2040-cars
Stafford, Virginia, United States
1998 Mitsubishi 3000 GT Black w/Tan Leather Interior Baby on the way! Must sell! Low Reserve! Beautiful car! I purchased this car in March/April 2013 after searching for months for an outstanding well cared for 3000 GT. I am extremely picky with my cars. The car had approximately 50,000 original miles when purchased, the odometer currently reads 57,181. Running Mobil 1 fully synthetic motor oil with Mobil 1 oil filter. I have all repair and maintenance receipts, just ask and I will scan and email them. The car looks awesome, please see all pictures. No leaks, cold A/C. Current Virginia safety and emissions inspection. After market Kenwood stereo with hands free blue tooth, single CD and MP3. Custom tinted windows by LA Tint. Mitsubishi valve stem caps. Car is nearly 100% stock, excluding the cold air intake, stereo and white front side marker lights (replaced the stock amber lights). Only interior wear is on driver’s seat as you slide in and out of the car. Car runs straight as an arrow down the road. The one reported accident was when I was stopped at a stop light and I was tapped in the rear and my drivers side bumper cover and plastic side skirt were damaged. This was a low impact. Both the bumper and rocker panel side skirt were replaced with factory OEM parts at a USAA recommended body shop. Receipt and details available upon request. 2 Sets of Keys with Remote, Owners Manual, spare tire and jacking equipment NEW: Brand new tires and alignment (all tires are matching); Brand new tune up, plugs, wires, distributer cab and rotor; Brand new alternator; Brand new O2 sensors(all); Brand new ignition coil; Brand new catalytic convertor; Brand new alternator belt and power steering serpentine belt; new battery What it needs: Please see detailed page attached. The Mitsubishi dealer checked the car from top to bottom and all ignition, fuel system, other system components came back 100% without issue; however the dealer suspects the car needs a new distributor. The car also needs rear brakes, may need calipers and rotors. Please also note the timing belt per the manufacturer is due at 60,000 miles. This car has been well cared for and can be amazing. Turns heads and looks great going down the road. The car starts and runs, however I would recommend having it towed. Title in Hand. If you have questions, please ask before bidding. I will do my best to respond promptly. Thank you. On Jul-26-14 at 03:45:25 PDT, seller added the following information: The reason I would consider having the car towed is because the dealer believes the car needs a distributor(please see detailed picture with dealers findings). The car starts immediately when cold and runs smooth and normal at that time, however when the car is warm it begins to hesitate and may stall. On Jul-26-14 at 03:47:58 PDT, seller added the following information: My car is listed locally as well. Should it sell my auction could end early at my option. Bid soon! |

Recharge Wrap-up: vehicle electrification future, Indonesia biodiesel growth
Tue, Dec 29 2015Navigant Research expects electrified vehicles (including hybrids, plug-in hybrids and battery electric vehicles) to reach 6 million sales in 2024. That's up from 2.6 million sales in 2015. About half of those sales will be plug-in vehicles in 2024, up from 19 percent in 2015. To make its predictions, Navigant took into account automaker strategies, concept vehicles, regulations and incentives, electricity and oil prices, and charging infrastructure expectations over the 10-year timetable. Navigant also says that despite the massive changes in the last five years, the next five years will be "even more impactful to the global automotive and energy industries." Read more from Navigant Research, or at Green Car Congress. Indonesia's biodiesel consumption is expected to rise dramatically over the next year. While the nation used 291 to 317 million gallons in 2015, consumption levels for 2016 could surpass 2 billion gallons, depending on blending regulation enforcement. Indonesia raised the minimum biodiesel content in diesel fuel from 10 to 15 percent in 2015 while increasing biofuel subsidies. It will raise the blend minimum to 20 percent for 2016, and plans to increase it to 30 percent in 2020. Read more at Business Recorder. Scotland's national newspaper, The Scotsman, has awarded the title of Plug-In Vehicle of the Year to the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV. The paper praised the car for its ability to live up to its "ecocredentials," as well as its all-around practicality. During its long-term test, Scotsman staff enjoyed using the 32.5 miles of electric driving range to commute to and from work. The Scotsman's Steven Chisholm called the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV, "an exciting prospect for anyone looking for an SUV that's easy on the wallet as well as the environment." Mitsubishi president resigns in wake of fuel economy scandal
Wed, May 18 2016Mitsubishi has announced the resignation of two of its top executives as the company is embroiled in a scandal over its fuel-economy figures. Chief among the resignations is Tetsuro Aikawa, the company's president and chief operating officer (pictured above at left, bowing), who assumed the position less than two years ago. Joining Aikawa-san on the way out is Ryugo Nakao, one of three executive vice presidents of the company and the man responsible for product planning and quality at Mitsubishi. Though two of his principal deputies are leaving, the top executive at Mitsubishi retains his seat for the time being. Osamu Masuko (pictured above at right, seated) serves as both chairman and CEO, however with Nissan assuming over a third of the company's ownership, Masuko-san could still be replaced. A shareholders meeting is scheduled for June 24, when Aikawa and Nakao's resignations are set to take effect. According to the statement below, the company "will decide on the successors of both Representative Directors at our board of directors' meeting and make an announcement promptly." The resignations of the top officials come in the wake of revelations that Mitsubishi had falsely reported the fuel-economy figures of its vehicles for decades. The broadening scandal was uncovered when Nissan tested vehicles which Mitsubishi manufactures on its behalf and found discrepancies. As his company prepares to take control of the ailing automaker, Nissan chief Carlos Ghosn says that the greatest challenge will be restoring Mitsubishi's reputation. In a similar development, Suzuki also admitted to improper fuel-economy testing. The rival automaker claims that the measures were taken without the knowledge of senior management. 2017 Mitsubishi Mirage: Hey, it sort of looks better
Thu, Nov 19 2015I've never really been too kind to the Mitsubishi Mirage. Sure, its bargain-basement MSRP is appealing, and there's plenty of content within. But in the end, it's just sort of a dumpy little thing. Thankfully, Mitsubishi is offering a number of updates for the 2017 model year, and the redone Mirage shows its freshened face to the world at the 2015 LA Auto Show. First and foremost, it looks better. There's some more assertive styling baked into the nose, including LED running lamps and a stylized lower grille. That said, it's the same ol' Mirage out back. Inside, a number of new fabrics and trim pieces are found throughout the cabin, and the infotainment system is updated to include the popular Apple CarPlay and Android Auto apps. Mitsubishi's wheezy little three-cylinder still resides underhood, making 78 horsepower and 74 pound-feet of torque. That's actually four more horsepower than last year's car, but I'm sure the Mirage will continue to sprint at its usual, glacial pace. Overall drivability might see an improvement, too, as Mitsubishi is fitting larger brakes and a retuned suspension. I'll be sure to give the Mirage a fair shake next year. Until then, I'll just gaze lovingly into the purple hatch's new eyes, in the gallery above. THE 2017 MITSUBISHI MIRAGE: NEW EXTERIOR DESIGN AND ADDED PERFORMANCE ENHANCEMENTS - The new Mitsubishi Mirage continues to deliver outstanding fuel economy - 2017 Mirage will feature Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay™ - Attractive pricing and 10-year warranty distances the competition CYPRESS, Calif. Nov. 18, 2015 – Mitsubishi Motors North America, Inc. (MMNA) today announced details for the fuel-efficient 2017 Mitsubishi Mirage featuring a new exterior design, improved performance and enhanced interior appeal. Despite all that is new for Mirage in 2017, a few things didn't change at all—Mirage still offers impressive fuel economy, attractive pricing and industry leading new vehicle and powertrain warranties. The Mitsubishi Mirage hatchback will be available at dealers in spring 2016. "Mirage has gained popularity with its affordable and practical appeal," said Don Swearingen, executive vice president, MNNA. "Mirage owners are looking for a vehicle that does its job well and is reliable. The Mirage continues to deliver all of those attributes, and the improvements to the 2017 model year will expand the Mirage's appeal even more." The changes for the 2017 model year are led with the new exterior design.
