NOT SURE HOW THE OWNERSHIP WILL REPORT OWNERS BY THE VIN BUT THIS CAR HAS HAD ONE OWNER EVEN THOUGH THE TITLE HAS BEEN IN MY NAME, MY WIFES AND MOST RECENTLY MY SONS FOR INSURANCE PURPOSES. EVEN THOUGH NOT PERFECT, IT IS IN GREAT CONDITION AND HAS BEEN DRIVEN VERY LITTLE OVER THE LAST SEVEN YEARS AND ALWAYS GARAGED. TO PROVE MY POINT, I HAVE A SERVICE RECEIPT DATED APRIL 2006 WHEN THE CLUTCH WAS REPOLACED AND THE MILAGE THEN WAS 100,759............TODAY IT IS LESS THAT 111,000. HAVE BEEN KEEPING IT FOR INVESTMENT AND SENTIMENTAL REASONS. RECENTLY FOUND ANOTHER VEHICLE TO LOVE AND MY WIFE WON'T LET ME KEEP BOTH.
IT IS IN GREAT RUNNING CONDITION AND ALL THINGS WORK..........I WOULD GET IN IT TODAY AND NOT HESITATE OR WORRY TO DRIVE IT ANYWHERE.
THE INTERIOR IS PERFECT WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE DRIVER SEAT SHOWING WEAR WHICH YOU CAN SEE IN PHOTO AND THE BOOT AROUND THE GEARSHIFT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. I DID SO ONCE AND THIS ONE HAS WORN OUT TOO. THERE ARE TWO PLASTIC COVERS THAT CONCEAL THE BACK LIGHTS THAT HAVE COME LOOSE AND WILL ONLY STAY IN PLACE VIA DUCT TAPE..........YOU WILL NOTICE SOME RESIDUE OF THE TAPE IN THE SHOT WITH THE HATCHBACK UP ON THE LIP ON THE LEFT SIDE.
THERE ARE ALSO SOME SCRATCHES DUE TO THE AGE AND MY CARELESSNESS.........THE MAJOR ARE: ONE BY THE GAS COVER THAT YOU WILL NEEED TO LOOK CLOSELY IN THE PICTURE TO SEE......ANOTHER IS ON THE DRIVER REAR PANEL WHERE I GOT TOO CLOSE TO A WALL ONE TIME.......THE LAST REALLY NOTICABLE SCRATCH IS ON THE FRONT END PANEL OF PASSENGER SIDE WHERE ONCE AGAIN I SCRATCHED A HIGH CURB. THERE IS A FAIRLY GOOD SIZE INDENTION ON THE DRIVER SIDE JUST TO THE RIGHT TOP OF THE DRIVER REAR WHEEL THAT I CAN'T TAKE CREDIT FOR........HAPPENED WHILE PARKED IN A SHOPPING LOT AND JUST NEVER GOT IT OUT. I HAVE TRIED TO CAPTURE ALL THESE IN THE PICTURES.

Mitsubishi boss confirms new Mirage for US; i EV enduring dismal sales
Mon, 12 Nov 2012
By March, Mitsubishi expects to have sold just 55,000 cars in the US this fiscal year. That's a tiny sum - by comparison, Honda has sold over 276,000 Civic models thus far this year - and that's just one vehicle, not an entire brand. Mitsubishi president Osamu Masuko recognizes this is not a tenable position, and he's hoping the company will shift 80,000 units next fiscal year. Warding off speculation, Masuko has repeatedly stated that his company will not retreat from the US market like competitor Suzuki.
We reported on one part of Masuko's plan, the updated Outlander, and now he has confirmed that the small Mirage will be sold in the US beginning next September. The cut-price hatchback is selling well enough that Mitsu's Thailand plant is at its full capacity of 150,000 cars. "And even at that level it's not keeping up with orders," Masuko tells Automotive News. Masuko went on to say the plant would be expanded next year to handle an extra 50,000 units. We can also expect the Outlander plug-in early 2014.
NHTSA begins inquiry into Mitsubishi fuel economy
Fri, Apr 22 2016The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration wants to make sure Mitsubishi doesn't falsify fuel economy ratings in the US like the company does in Japan. "We've requested information from Mitsubishi about this issue," a NHTSA spokesperson told Reuters. The person didn't provide details about the specific models the regulator wanted to know more about. At this time, there's no evidence of fuel economy inaccuracies for any North American models. The affected vehicles in Japan so far are 625,000 small kei-class cars, including the Mitsubishi eK, eK Space, Nissan Dayz, and Dayz Roox, which Mitsu produces for Nissan. However, Japanese regulators are taking a closer look at other models and gave the company a week to hand over test data. A newspaper there claims Mitsubishi allegedly used "non-Japanese test methodology" on the RVR, Outlander, Pajero, and Minicab MiEV. NHTSA's look into Mitsubishi comes at the same time the Department of Justice is scrutinizing Daimler for possible emissions anomalies. "Daimler will consequently investigate possible indications of irregularities and of course take all necessary action," the German automaker said in a statement. The company asserts the DOJ's inquiry is unrelated to a lawsuit from owners, which alleges the BlueTec emissions control system is designed to turn off at low temperatures. Related Video:
2014 Mitsubishi Lancer to shrink
Wed, 24 Oct 2012The aging, oft-forgotten Mitsubishi Lancer won't get a replacement until sometime in 2014, but a new report states that the next-generation model could be a relatively drastic departure from the car you see here. Mitsubishi Motors Corporation President Osamu Masuko told Australian site The Motor Report that the new Lancer will be smaller than the current car, going in a different direction than the vast majority of other automakers.
"The new Lancer will be a very new car, and will be sized somewhere between the current model and its predecessor," Masuko-san told The Motor Report.
There are both pros and cons to this decision. On the plus side, a smaller car means the Lancer will likely have a weight advantage over other vehicles in its class. That said, Mitsubishi will need to find ways to maximize interior space and create efficient packaging in order to still have its compact sedan remain competitive with strong offerings like the Hyundai Elantra, Chevrolet Cruze, Ford Focus and so on.
